But once ppl saw that since he basically dropped 2 albums which made the sales double, the industry started making everyone make deluxes
While "?" is a bad example of an album being expanded by that much, a great example of that same phenomenon is the Piñata Deluxe Edition, adding the instrumentals, remixes and a whole bunch of songs from the period of time during which the original was recorded. I'm still missing Cocaine Parties though, Freddie just sounds too good over that beat.

I agree Finally Rich is probably one od the most iconic deluxes, and MOTM and Rodeo are good Also Blame it on Baby deluxe was just mid at best, some songs do hit but overall I didn't like the album as a whole and it's worse than the original, the highs aren't as as highs than the original nor in other DaBaby albums, and I do think it's better than the YB collab and EP he did so that is something

As someone said in the comments, in my opinion Relapse:Refill is one of the greatest Deluxe Albums. If you liked Relapse by Eminem, Relapse Refill will go hard, the best track on Refill is probably a mix of Music Box and Buffalo Bill

i actually think that the vinyl deluxe of igor is one of the best ever even tho it’s only 1 song but it fully brings the album from a 9/10 to a 10/10 for me and completes the story
I think polo Gs Hall of Fame 2 is a really good shout for this aswell. The album covers really show the difference. HOF was a pop kinda album made for numbers and awards, but the deluxe was proper polo, with his more natural and original dark/drill sound. HOF was like a 6/10, and HOF 2.0 was closer to an 8.5. Great video tho, I might actually go and listen to a nav verse on purpose because of you, so I hope it's actually good lol
I think the deluxe is definitely better than HOF but I thought HOF original version is just ok at best but the deluxe is more fleshed out and has more bangers there overall than the original which is more of the same but with more than just pianos, but yeah my favorites are still the banger ones I hope his next album is sorta like The Goat and the deluxe together
It isn't really a deluxe but with the release of Faces by Mac miller onto streaming while also adding "Yeah" as a bonus track is amazing. Yeah is such a beautiful track that put tears in my eyes while I was watching the livestream of all the faces songs up to the release.

CDTV if you see this, please give The Life Of Pi'erre 4 Deluxe a listen if you haven't, it is in my opinion one of the best trap releases thus far this decade. The catchy hooks and melodies Pi'erre pulls of, the great production and clean transitions between tracks make it so much better than the original that it doesn't even make sense!
Born Sinner and Carter 3 were my favorite deluxe albums. Revenge of the Dreamers 3 basically added an EP at the end of their deluxe, which was great because of the amount of artists involved. Relapse Deluxe is another great deluxe and you could buy it as an EP if you didn’t want to buy the album a 2nd time.
I didn’t notice gkmc had different versions until I switched from Spotify to Apple Music and saw that the black hippy version of “the recipe” wasn’t on there (the Dre version is still good tho)
Its cool to see ur NBA fan and I agree with Percocet and Strip joint being the one of the top tracks on DS2. I think it does notget the credit it deserves and is easily one of my fav songs of his along with Married to the Game. And The recipe was one of the first kendrick songs Ive heard so I think its such an amazing track.
I don't even remember any songs there but I do think there is like a song or two that was decent enough and better than the Bad Habits deluxe no one talks about
DC The Don's Come As You Are delux is probably favorite it adds some of his best singing and easily his best Rage song. It's got good length too adds 20+ mins to the project and it goes from a 7.5-8 to a 9.5 with the delux. They flow very well with the album too they aren't all just tacked on to the end their mixed in properly in were they should go if they were day 1 songs. Easily my #1 delux.
How dare you hate on Jah on Drums! That's the best song ever made! XD In all seriousness, I think DaBaby's deluxe version of Blame It On Baby was actually pretty good. Sure, it was essentially a second album attached to the initial one, but for some reason, he never really bored me with any of the deluxe tracks. Practice and No Dribble are bangers.
Im surprised you didn't talk about donda. such a great album but the deluxe made it so much worse. 33 songs and most were just remakes of other songs with an extra verse. when listening to it I was banging my head on my table at the end. also the order of the songs were just ass.

Ok, so I feel like I didn't put up the case for watching movies with the sound off deluxe enough, so here goes So after this entire album of experimental, wild bangers from Mac Miller, we get three songs. Goosebumpz, O. K., and claymation. O. K. is a collaboration with Tyler the creator. I don't think I need to sell the song anymore It also thematically works with the album too. The original is dower and weird, and now Mac can be happy and goofy. And them on O.K., he cries over his girl, and he tells himself hell be ok. In conclusion, cdtv, make a deluxe edition sequel where watching movies is a good one, and donda is bad.
Donda's gotta be one of both the best and worst, but probably more on the worst side. On one hand it adds life of the party which is excellent but then the sequencing is bafflingly bad. Oh yeah and no more free throat coat for the throat goats :(

Some do that, Moneybagg also did it to his album but way worse But Wunna deluxe is pretty good with some great songs, but also that a few tracks that are obvious throwaways and songs like One Watch are one of Gunna's worst, I hope Drip Season 4 gets a deluxe soon
I feel as though instrumentals for songs on the album should be separated into their own album, just so if people just want to hear the production and not vocals, they can do so without having to hear another different album before doing so.
Funny U mention that... 'cause before the internet, That was actually how it was done. Not sure as 2 why it was discontinued, but 2001 & others had exclusively instrumental versions released as well.
@@doberman3282 imo I am not a fan, his music gets pretty boring especially song surfing through his entire discography I get his appeal and when he makes something that hits, it hits, but for a whole hour you're bound to get a few misses plus he releases way too much music and is way better by himself than with someone else imo (hence why his work is better like that) but that's my opinion

I think the 5 year deluxe edition of Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor is my favorite deluxe album as it’s not overbearing and Theme Music to a Drive By is an amazing song that could’ve easily been on the original. My pick for worst is Music to be Murdered By Side B because Em adds an extra 200 terrible lyrics throughout the tracklist (not to mention the horrendous peewee skit).
Imo the deluxe is good and some parts even better Idk how it hasn't been talked a lot as it was the biggest thing at one point and almost all the songs hit, tbf it is more his older sound in more modern mainstream production with tracks like in I Can Show You or the other way around in Got the Guap. But still say its good
the only songs i liked on the ? deluxe were the songs from a ghetto xmas carol; a ghetto xmas carol is my favorite x project and a 10/10 imo. i also loved the Jah on drums skit for some reason lol
also possible hot take - i like the ds2 deluxe more than gkmc deluxe (even tho gkmc is better) because ds2 is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time, and i believe the ds2 deluxe is the only correct way to listen to ds2. both 10/10
Of the top of my head some of my favourite Deluxe albums are Gunna Wunna Mgk TTMDF Post Malone Stoney I don't really have an opinion on these particular albums as I am either neutral on them or have never heard em. Edit: I agree with everything you said about meet the woo 2
Personally Rodeo's deluxe is one of the best, it's only two songs and they are both great. Ok Alright being my favourite Travis song and perfectly fits with the themes of the album
