The Best WORST Entertainment of 2023 

Hollywood entertainment left a lot to be desired in 2023, but that doesn't meant there wasn't some good shows out there. It's that to enjoy what Hollywood made, you had to like it for all the wrong reasons. There were many shows that were hilarious, purely because of how awful they were. And I think the best thing in the modern age, apart from going abroad to find ACTUALLY good entertainment, is to laugh at the disaster places like Disney are producing. That's how with shows like Velma, Willow, Robyn Hood and Milf Manor got on the list. Because if they can't entertain me, I'll make my entertainment out of them. But what did you think of the shows? Mindy is a hateful individual. Her hate is so overt, and so extreme, it’s actually jarring.

This is why we shouldn’t let people with chips on their shoulders be in charge of shows or movies. Because the reality is everything they do will be influenced by that chip on their shoulder.

Mindy Kaling grew up as a wealthy Indian American. It is arguably one of the most privileged demographics in the country. She started out on third base and still can't make anything original

Dude, when a government paid, state sponsored, propagandist calls you out, you know you’ve gotten under ‘Their’ skin. Projector eX meltdown was comical, and vastly more entertaining than his show, also your and Az reviews had way more character than his entire ‘production’.

The worst person involved in Velma isn't Mindy Kayling, it's whoever was at the top of the approval chain that greenlit it being released after it was finished and they presumably viewed it. That person needs to be fired. It's not just bad like Willow, it's intentionally offensive.

I’m going to miss Robyn Hood. Never actually watched a single episode just enjoyed you and Az reviewing it.

The amount of time this man spends watching god awful shows…I’m amazed he’s still sane!

Also Mindy Kaling has clearly never seen a male public bathroom at a crowded public event if she thinks getting to go there is some form of privilege.

Disney falling down the stairs while their house is burning must've been the best entertainment in 2023. Happy New Year! and let's hope for a nice bankruptcy next year!

Also reminder for everyone who had to listen to Velma's never ending insipid soap box preaching about the evils of men being sexist, remember when Mindy Kaling admitted she abused her position as producer to get to kiss a male co star without his consent, and then threatened staff with termination if they told anyone ? And when she told this story on a talk show, everyone laughed and she got applause from the audience.

I knew nothing about Mindy Kaling until this show. Now I know why she portrayed the moron Kelly Kapoor so well in The Office. It's amazing when an actor just slips into a role so well.

Willow, and Robyn Hood are really a cut above the rest. Entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

Part 2 please! there was so much sludge posing as entertainment this year I forgot half of it.

Oh and let's not forget how Velma was more upset that she had to admit she was wrong rather than sendng an innocent man to jail for a crime he did not commit AND automatically assumed the killer was male (and was wrong) and also said the boys needed "don't murder girls classes" ontop of that totally faulty assumption of hers which was literally based solely on the same kind of gender stereotypes she PRETENDS to be against.

For me, 2023 will be forever the year that finally blurred the line between reality and parody.

PART 2, PLEASE Also, Elora Danan was supposed to be a redhead... But I guess they had to make her blonde so they wouldn't be tempted to race-swap her the way they do all other redheads, like Davies & crew making Davros a normal guy without a tank so they wouldn't be tempted to link his disability with evil.

Definitely need a part 2. Gotham Knights, WoT Season 2, Witcher S3, Ashoka and everything Marvel to choose from.

Giving the financial straits Warner Brothers is in I bet Velma Season 2 doesn’t see the light of day and if it doesn’t, thank God. Also, Director X calling anyone else goofy while his cohost is wearing a disco ball is peak irony.

I was so mad at what Paramount did with the Halo show everyone has forgotten that even happened.

About Willow, in typical Kathleen Kennedy style, she completely ignores the fact that George Lucas and Chris Claremont wrote a trilogy of books about Laura Dannen all grown up.

oh my god I forgot that Velma was so early last year, it feels like it was so sooner because of how bad it is.

Velma is such a hateful series. I have never seen such a spiteful individual in my life.

The transition from the two beautiful girls from Willow to the mummies from Milf Manor was so abrupt, next time add a warning please, some people have heart conditions!

I am currently watching 90's and early 2000's tv shows at the moment, and it is so refreshing to get a good story with no preachy preachy. I wish they would go back to that.

One thing I don't understand about Velma, how can anyone of them even be friends? They despise each other's existance to such a degree there is no way they would go around in a van solving mysteries together.

It's also funny to hear the totally not at all ego stroking dialogue calling Mindy's self insert "brilliant", when it turns out she had done almost none of the investigation, where most if not all major clues were found by the male characters, including the one Velma constantly mocks for his low intelligence, yet he did more honest to god detective work than Velma ever did, despite trying to claim how Mystery Inc. was totally *her* creation.

Definitely need a part 2 covering things like wheel of time. Seriously the watch part of Brandon Sanderson on the last episode is a goldmine of examples of how bad they fucked up that show.

I don't think I'll ever tire of Disparu's mind slowly shutting down as he watches John Prince dance

Dear Disparu, I heard an urban legend that involved a cop with a rabbit outfit. The story goes that there was a sergeant who seriously hated drunks, and when they got someone sleeping off a drinking bout he would don the rabbit costume and fill them in. The theory was that no one was going to believe a drunk claiming he was accosted by a large herbivore. The story goes that this went on for some time, until one night the 'drunk' turned out to be someone suffering from a diabetic shock, and he was sufficiently lucid to make them search the station. When they opened the sergeant's locker he had some explaining to do. Happy New Year! Frank.

This weekend my best buddy and I are going to get high AF and watch the entirety of Velma.

Its crazy how people will argue that everything is fine. Like they can't see how bad movies have become. I was talking about this at work the other day. A colleague and I were talking about new movies and how there just wasn't anything that interests her right now. She's not into culture war stuff, and is the same age as me. She said she thought she was just burned out on movies in general, I said that it's likely not that, but that movies in general were crappy now. She disagreed. Said that every generation says the same. So, as I normally do to prove my point about this stuff, I asked her what she does watch, since we all watch something. She said she was rewatching all of Jim Carreys movies, binging them. Her answer was a perfect example of what I always cite. Look back at the year Ace Ventura came out. How many movies are memorable from that year (1994)? Now, how many movies do you think will be an well remembered and loved from 2023? Does it even come close?? Ace Ventura AND The Mask came out, the Crow, Natural born Killers, In the Mouth of Madness, Shawshank, Forest Gump, Leon, Page master, Beverly Hills cop 3, Clerks, River wild, Street Fighter, Interview with the Vampire, Naked gun 3, Pulp fiction, Mighty Ducks 2, Speed, Phantasm 3, Leprechaun 2, The river Wild, Junior. Not all GREAT movies, but movies that a lot of people love, that are remembered, spawned sequels, and stuck with us. There are likely,a couple dozen others that I'm probably forgetting. Things HAVE gotten worse. This is a fact. She was blown away when she really thought about it. And couldn't believe that all of those movies came out in ONE year. There are many, many examples of years like that from the 80s and 90s, where good movie after good movie came out. People will say that it's diversity that we don't like, but they're dead WRONG. Elm Street 3 had a 2 Female heros who were helped by their black friend, a diverse cast in terms of race but also disabilities, with the dude in the wheelchair and the deaf kid. It's NOT about race, or ablism, it's about good writing.

Thing I like about Willow is we have the short haired princess chick who is deeply in love with the boring chick from Solo... Then we discover that her mother ASSIGNED love interest to be with her as her body guard. Yes. Her girlfriend was GIVEN to her by her mother. Awkward...

Wait? A whole video about the behind the scenes of "Willow"? Will watch that one after this... dunno why I missed it.

Part 2 please. Gotham Nights should have a honorable mention.

I honestly can’t wait for the second season of Velma. From the different takes people had and the video reviews to whatever the hell was going on in that writers room with their incredibly weird perception of reality. I think shitting on season 2 will be another great time for people to come together and hate something.

Bruh I worked on Velma and I can tell you, the production crew was amazing but man I know waaaaaay too much about the showrunners based on the writing and the notes they'd give and what they'd say in meetings. It was so strange seeing so many daddy issues come into play during animatic reviews.

My best worst release this year was the dr who specials, a franchise I adored as a kid, ignored as a teen and watch die as an adult. Truly what is left is just a joke.

I used to have a serious thing for Mindy Kaling, and checked in on all her projects after The Office. All of the projects she wrote on her own showed her to be a narcissist with less talent than she thought she had. Velma showed her to be just repulsive too. Thank you for taking the hit by watching it and reporting on it.

I'm reminded of that legendary saying "write about what you know", and it clearly shows with these "writers" and "directors".

To this day some people erroneously think Velma is getting a season 2 due to hate watching. In reality it is getting a season 2 because the episode batch was cut in half. Season 1 was originally going to include the episodes from season 2. But for some reason it was decided to have two seasons instead of one. So it was going to have a season 2 regardless of the hate watching.

On one hand it's amazing and on the other it's just sad how fierce the competition is, for the crown of biggest dumpster fire of 2023. Like, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick, I don't know if I could. Do I pick Doctor Who, a show I used to watch every episode of, before they ruined it by trying to force feed us their crap ideology? Or how about Robyn Hood, something that is so filled to the brim with unintended stereotypes that ironically it comes off feeling like satire? I don't know, but the only thing I do know is that while the entertainment industry might be burning itself to ash, your reviews make watching the blaze infinitely more enjoyable.

The problem is Hollyweird hired political activists as film makers who had an axe to grind rather than a good story to tell. Its sad what films have become now.
