It’s sad that kaycyy doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He helped make so much of Donda just to get removed from the project. He actually wrote all of thank god, a reference track came out of him rapping the whole song, and he’s still not listed as a feature
Yeah it’s honestly ridiculous like it could only help both of them if he just credited him but for him to be the ONLY feat that wasn’t credited is just disrespectful
Again brad, I would like to thank you for introducing me to the song "pop champagne" not only is it my most streamed on Spotify, I have gotten subscriptions to Apple music and RU-vid music just for this song. I thank you once again
After listening to Utopia a lot this past weekend, the only skip for me really is Topia Twins. I wanted to like it, but I only like the hook and the production. With the exception of Topia Twins, this album really did live up to the hype for me. Even the “good” songs (K-Pop and Echoes) aren’t even skips and sound good sonically. I am very happy with this album and will keep bumping it.
Great video my guy I honestly did not except you to like yung lean as much as you did. If you wanna listen to some more yung lean id recommend the songs yellowman, pearl fountain, and ghosttown.
since u checked out yung lean and liked him you really should hear bladee, he is really good (eversince and icedancer especially) but he is kinda weird so you'll have to get used to him
I’ve been saying this ever since I’ve heard the album it’s sounds like Owl Pharaoh and Yeezus mixed together. I love the dystopian feel to the whole album also how harsh and loud the production is as well as how it can be just straight ear candy at moments. I also like some of Travis’ rapping he sounds like ye or cudi at time with all the pockets he finds on each song. I wish the track list was a bit more cohesive but overall I liked it 7/10.
My favorite song is looove and I never saw it on anybody’s best songs of utopia list, I honestly feel like if Travis turned that into a single it would blow up on the radio
Glad you liked a mainstream rap project this year to the point of it being an AOTY contender. btw Astroworld wasn't on the list in 2018 if I'm correct right?
@@CDTVProductions thanks bro keep but tha grind. (i would absolutely be grateful if you saw my beats i have on my channel just want to know what someone who is a professional or knows music well thinks about my music thanks)
On my first listen I thought this album was mid. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible, it was clear he tried to do something different but I didn't feel like it was good different. BUT I must say this album has grown on me and I found myself adding more and more songs to my playlist. The production on this is amazing (mostly) and though Travis is lacking on some songs I really like this one!
Im not a Travis Scott fan and I havent really cared too much for his music in the past so this was my first ever Album listen by him. I gotta say Travis Scott is not really my type of rap artist but i still had somewhat positive expectations of this album before listening. The album overall was just pretty good imo, probably a 6.5 out of 10 for me but my 2 favorite tracks are Skitzo and Lost Forever. Those 2 songs (especially Lost) are easily my favorite of the year. Just didnt care much for most of the tracklist myself.
Man i love the bridge of “thank god” those synths hitting so hard then u get the stormy adlib. So perfect. im sad u put parasail in b tier thats a s plus plus tier
honestly agree with most of the ratings other than meltdown fein and sirens, sirens felt lowkey weak to me and meltdown was my fav song by far i just cant stop listening to it and fein was just crazy to me i would give it S
i cannot express how much i disagree with the rankings of SIRENS and LOOOVE lol Overall I'd say utopia is a nice album but it's for sure my least favorite Travis Scott album. it has the most songs on any travis album that I dislike or wouldnt come back to, and there's just something about the overall vibe of this album that doesnt work for me and that makes me not want to come back to this album. Kinda disappointed after the 5 year wait lol
Telekinesis is leak song and it have two versions, The first one in travis and Ye, and mike dean version with travis,ye and juice wrld and it’s rly good
I still have to listen to more of the album to talk about all the songs, but since Yeezus is my fav Kanye Album, so Modern Jam and Circus Maximus are my favorite. Although Hyena, LOOOVE, Lost Forever, and Telekinesis are also def favs of mine(especially Cudi channeling his inner Man on the Moon 3 on LOOOVE). Songs like Parasail and K Pop are really, really uninteresting, and honestly forgot about Parasail until I checked out the track list again. Not like oh I forgot about that song but more like I FORGOT that song existed and can’t honestly tell you how that song sounds, and when I do listen to it, I kinda wished I kept forgetting what it sounds like.
I haven’t listened to Utopia yet but I guarantee my AOTY contenders would all have S Tier songs with no skips. I haven’t heard one masterpiece album that came out this year and it’s sad asf
Apart from the forever story there hasn’t been one with no skips in a long time. And I mean even some of the best albums have songs that have skips but in an album listening session they fit. For example flying high is a skip for me outside the album but when listening to the whole of rodeo it doesn’t sound bad.
I really like these types of videos you should do these more often Also dont agree with ur ranking of gods country, telekinesis, and till further notice
Been enjoying this album but I don't think i'm as hyped about it as some other people, however my favourite songs are FE!N,Modern Jam,Parasail and Skitzo. I think most songs are pretty good, the only song I hate is K-POP, its not really for me and it also feels like it doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the album.
K-POP is DEFINETELY the biggest disappointment on the whole album. I love Bad Bunny (& and a lot of reggatone and Spanish trap music in general), so it was the perfect opportunity to put people on his work, to get people to show some respect (since people were roasting the fuck outta bro when it got announced he was gonna be on the album) But, instead of giving bro a banger to be apart of, Travis somehow gave bro the most DEFAULT, generic beat he could POSSIBLY be on. It's really sad, especially since there's a song from a reggaetone album that dropped only a month ago, that has him, and a bunch of other big Spanish trap artists on a single song, that sounds IDENTICAL to something that could've been off this album. The song is called PASIEMPRE, and it literally sounds like Spanish Sicko Mode, and its fire. (Definetly recommend everyone hears it) Had to get that off my chest! 😤 Anyways, Hyena, Modern Jam, My Eyes, FE!N, I KNOW, and LOOOVE are definitely my favorites on here, and I love this album a lot.
I feel like if Telekinesis was called something like, “Oracle,” or “Precognition,” it would have made more sense and honestly would’ve added more to the story but maybe that’s just my inner nerd talking 😅
Mid compared to astroworld, L compared to rodeo There was a lack of experimental feel throughout the whole album when compared to today's "controversial" new artists
Thank God, Telekinesis, Until Further Notice, Lost Forever, Hyaena, Meltdown, Circus Maximus, Skizo, My Eyes, I Know, all bangers. Rest of the album is kind of "eh" imo. I'd give the album a 6.5 atm. Some songs I question why they are even on here. Like fr. I feel like it's on the same level as Birds where I really enjoy half the album but the other half is extremely mid compared to DBR, Rodeo, and Astroworld. Also there isn't a Don Toliver feature which is CRIMINAL.
The worst thing about circus maximus is travis for me. Like jesus christ he just sounds dull on it compared to how ye sounded on Black Skinhead. The Weeknd is my favorite part of the song because of that
Played along while watching. This what I went with S: THANK GOD, MY EYES, CIRCUS MAXIMUS; TELEKINESIS A: HYAENA, MODERN JAM, FE!N, TOPIA TWINS, PARASAIL, SKITZO, LOST FOREVER, TIL FURTHER NOTICE B: GODS COUNTRY, SIRENS, MELTDOWN, I KNOW?, LOOOVE C: DELRESTO (ECHOES), K-POP D:
