Back in 2000 they changed my life! I was a meandering 22 yr old and then I fell in. Years later I'm still a shit head but a shit head with fond memories of them at Coachella. I wish they would've got what was coming to them but then I couldn't have blew my friends away with their music. Everyone I know thought wow what a fucking genius sound. Oh well. Reunion time!
Just saw them for the 1st time on Jools Holland's show! Don't know how I missed them!-haha- better late than never. They just blew me away. Thanx for posting!
I love the fact they look like geezers and then go and prove how open minded, resourceful, creative, artistic and unique they were with this performance. I'm not saying bands should dress a certain way, its just that the Beta Band were a total conundrum.
They weren't around for long, but made such a big impact, and had a real cult following in the 1990s. People make the assumption they never "made it". They did - every record they made was borderline top 10, and a hit. They just didn't make many
why would a band like this not sell? bad timing by peaking in the napster age? radiohead shouldve secretly taken them under their wing to keep a buffer between them and the evil record companies and ignorant music consumers. alas, they are not dead. they're still alive. in our hearts. much love.
