@@briancirelli8051 I can tell you're coming from the right place and I admit the whole "father of the atomic bomb" reference is a throw off, but you should really be more open minded to learn about the history of the Manhattan Project and the Gita itself. It was an arms race to build the weapon before Hitler. Oppenheimer uttered the lines from the Gita during the first test detonation as he reflected on the moral and ethical implications of using such a devastating force, i.e., the karma of such an action. He spent the rest of his life advocating against the use of the weapon. Scientists like him urged the US govt. to drop the bombs on uninhabited islands off the coast of Japan but the people in charge decided otherwise. The whole ethical and moral dilemma of one's actions is precisely what is discussed in the Gita. Anyways, do what you want with that information - I say this in kindness.

The verse is 3.35 śreyān sva-dharmo viguṇaḥ para-dharmāt sv-anuṣṭhitāt sva-dharme nidhanaṁ śreyaḥ para-dharmo bhayāvahaḥ It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous.

The first quote you wrote. I agree with the first part, but quite baffled by the second part "...but it's not always right to forgive too." I've just gone through an intense deep healing within myself and I had to forgive myself for a lot of things which was the hardest thing I experienced in this life. It is much easier to forgive someone than yourself if you understand it. Because I know and understand that everything that happened to me, I made it happen to myself. There is a saying, "everything that happens to you, you made it happen to you."

Sanskrit is doubtful source, in Sanskrit one has to choose out of 100 languages( Sanskrit 1, Sanskrit 2,--------- Sanskrit 100) , Sanskrit is not one language , it has 100 scripts (lipis like brahmi, kasoti and many more) and each script has different set of words. Actual Vedas and other books were in Brahmi script, Brahmi script vanish so too real books, Recently in 19 century scripts of Sanskrit was standardised as devangiri . This is the reason Arya samaj believe Geeta and Ramayan are doubtful d and Brahma samaj completely rejected Vedas. No one said good about Vedas and Geeta, lies are spread by andhbakht, They can't give any reference. On the other hand Arya samaj and Brahma samaj believes that Vedas and Geeta is unreliable.
