@@calimorales9880 Its more about the way you pursue the decision and your self worth. It doesnt mean theres no logic in the decision you take, but being confident about your decision means you're more assertive about pursuing it, more aware of the conditions and circumstances surrounding it, and not being swayed by outside statements/opinions that may not even hold real merit to ur situation or people just try to bring u down (when u doubt urself sometimes u see problems that arent actually there). At least I believe the point of what OP said is that unconfident people limit themselves when they doubt their own ability.

HEXACO has a bit more to go still before the H can be officially added. The problem is that the original 5 emerged from the series of factor analyses that categorized traits in the first place. And any subsequent factor analyses done since then haven’t revealed a 6th factor to the degree that an entire new category can be justifiably added.

Test for Openness: Show someone the Big Five. If they are open, they will be intrigued and will then use the Big Five as just one more filter in their arsenal of world filters, finding the utility in it but not relying on it exclusively. If they are not open, they may be disinterested or resistant at first, but if they buy in to the idea then they will likely rely on it as one of just a few accepted filters, and start putting everyone in boxes.

As someone who has myself scored very high in Agreeableness (always at least 80% or higher), I feel that that personality trait is often misunderstood; it isn't a sign of "weakness", like some people seem to think: it is simply a measurement of how much you value prosocial and pleasant relationships with other people, and how much you care about other people. It is perfectly possible to be competitive and strict while at the same time being agreeable, and I would say that this is probably actually the best type of personality for leaders, because those kinds of people will be able to lead other people and set clear rules, while ALSO being cooperative, as well as caring about the employees' well-being. Yes, an overly agreeable personality can make you appear very vulnerable, since you will be unable to have any disagreements with anyone, but that is an extreme case, and an overly DISAGREEABLE personality is honestly much worse a lot of the time, since it is likely to make you a bully.

I really liked the test, it's good but it's faulty at the time being. There's a mishap in the code / values and the results for the neuroticism category are essentially switched, so healthy and stable answers results in a "you're completely neurotic and unstable" result in the end. Making the results for that category unusable (I cross checked and all unhealthy/opposite answers results in "you're the picture of healty and stable" result) Thankfully this problem should be easily fixed, looking forward to take an updated quiz in the future! Best regards, Sara

I clicked Agree for every one of the mood swings, and I got emotionally stable. Is this test trying to see how often you diverge from your initial responses? But I scored high on psychopathy. At least that's correct. And I didn't score in the 1% for Agreeableness like the last time I did one of these. That's progress. Where are you getting these percentiles from? Just the people who take your test, or is there another database used for reference? I know you probably won't read this, or care, I mean, why would you? But have you thought of releasing a slightly more robust version? Could catch on. Get some clicks. Retweets. I think combining MBTI, Big Five, and the Dark Triad is a really cool idea. I hope academics jump onto this approach too. It honestly doesn't seem that hard to implement. But that's probably just the Dark Triad in me talking. No one has to do shit. We are just all stuck in this hellhole together.

Great video! I am no psychologist; however, in my opinion, Agreeableness and Honesty-Humility appear to be synonyms. Agreeableness is characterized by the degree of compassion and cooperation of someone. Traits include tactfulness, kindness, loyalty, patience, self-sacrifice. Likewise, Honest-humility has similar traits such as the tendency to be fair and genuine in dealing with others; being cooperative (the opposite of competitiveness). Is there more nuance between the two that I am missing? Thanks for any feedback!

Openess is about the way you solve problems, either traditional, technical or you are opened to other methods, Consiousness is about the sense of duty and efficiency at working place, either you are workalhoolic either you are laisee-faire, Extoversion is an assertive skill for leaders that have affinitry with class communication, agreeable is about team work and neuroticism is about how calm and resilient to stress are you at work ( because if you are high in neuroticism it might be that you can be suited for leadership, as no one need histericals at office or in partenerships...)

The actual reason why the H dimension arose later than the other 5 dimensions is compute. Because of limitations of computing power, the initial factoring into the big five was already somewhat prefactored. With more computing power available 30/40 years later, all adjectives could be factored. This revealed the H factor, also in English speaking countries.

One personality doesn't change unless you have some sort of significant traumatic life experience that has literally rewired your brain. What can change is how you present yourself, whether you can be calmer and your morals. The change in those can make it seem like someone has a new personality, but it's really not. Personality is essentially your cognitive thought processing. You can think differently and more objectively than you used to in a random period of your life, but it doesn't mean your brain has been rewired to be a different personality. You're just making the smarter choices.

Chris from AsuraPsych who's a psychologist explains that the Big Five is not meant to be used for everyday used by the masses. It's meant to be used for quantitative research, so that you can compare and contrast the results for different groups, like based on ethnicity, race, gender, age and also across populations of different countries. The MBTI on the other hand is popular because it was meant to be used for more practical everyday use by anyone (not just researchers).

I would like to know the scientific research behind this breakdown. It seems overly simplified there are too many contingent factors within each category to cleanly classify anybody on a certain part of the spectrum. Not saying they're not useful traits to try to study, but I just wouldn't classify myself as extroverted or introverted. Sometimes being around people drains me sometimes it gives me energy. It just depends on my mood.

The funny thing is, as someone with a very low score in agreeableness, I honestly don't mind the term "disagreeable".

Man, I held in there as long as I could, but I had to quit when your explanation of the acronym change made my head spin. I'm trying to digest what I learned in the first 4 minutes when you dive into this minutiae, and I lost my train of thought. Maybe the etymology of acronyms is interesting to you professionals, but I just think it's distracting. Otherwise, I love your work.

Makes sense that out of all five factors, "agreeableness" was renamed because of people who disagreed.

That has very little to do with agreeableness overall; agreeableness is better defined as a desire to get along well with other people, have prosocial relationships, and avoid conflicts. If agreeable people criticise a certain idea, then they are typically also hoping that they can find an agreement with other people without getting into unpleasant conflicts.

What about empathy? Where does that fit in

Empathy is probably part of the "Agreeableness" trait; that trait says how polite and compassionate you are, and how willing you are to get along with people and care about them. This is why nurses and therapists tend to be very warm and agreeable.
