CORRECTION: The MAS serum contains 5% azelaic acid not 20% like I said in the end of the video - I must have got carried away but sorry for any confusion and love you all so much xx
About Revox; Someone in a different commentsection had noticed that there is an issue with the ingredient list. Ethoxydiglycol is allowed at 2,6%max in a leave-on product by eu-regulation, yet Ethoxydiglycol is listed higher than AA on the list. So perhaps the ingredients are not listed descending order of predominance, which in eu they must be, but if not that, then the concentration of Ethoxydiglycol is either illegally at 10% or above, or REVOX is being misleading about the actual concentration of AA in the product, which would be 2,6% or below. This needs to be cleared up.
I’m enjoying the fact that you are incorporating the image of the products mentioned as well. It makes it very easy to identify. Please continue to do this in your videos and shorts 😊
I very much appreciate you including the product images. It makes it easier to know what I'm looking for when shopping. Thanks, Rob! I started my azelaic acid journey with the Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10% (pure form azelaic acid). I really enjoyed this, never had a bad reaction, but the formula didn't play well with the rest of my routine and I experienced pilling. I switched to the Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10% (PAD) and have been enjoying it even more! Naturium is also easier to access in the US as it is sold at Target stores and online. I would love to try G&G, but if I don't spend 60 Euros to get free shipping to the US, it'll cost me 18 Euros to ship and I just can't pay that.
I live in Australia and can buy Finacea without prescription. I went on a cruise and did not take my retinol so just used the azaelic acid and using the moisturiser before applying it was pretty impressed when I got home. Originally did get some of the side effects but it has now calmed down. By the way I have rosacea and melasma and will continue using the Finacea. Really appreciate your information.
Hey Rob Just wanted to clarify that the Geek&Gorgeous aPAD serum does NOT actually contain 20% pure aPAD. It contains 20% Azeclair, which is a solution that at 20% contains 6% pure Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD) :)
It says on their webside: "In our formula we are using 20% Azeclair, a solution containing 6% pure Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD). While 6% might not sound like a high number, when it comes to PAD, it is an outstanding amount."
You're such a nice guy Rob. I've started using your argerline and matrixyl regime and my skin is loving it. Thanks for making these fantastic videos xxx
I just could not find a pure form azelaic acid that I could get on with so thought it was me using it incorrectly within my routine. Robs review way back of aPAD was a game changer and now one of my holy grail items. They all seem to thick or gritty and totally unspreadable. I don't use the MAS serum consistently only when I am tired, feeling lazy and to put it blunty can't be bothered. To be honest I probably use it 3 or 4 times a week. Not sure what that says about me but it give me confidence because I know It's got me covered! I would be without it!
aPAD contains Allantoin glycerine - which they say is “A classic skincare ingredient known for its skin soothing and skin protecting abilities.” I’ve used Comfrey extract on the face and I LOVE how soothing and tightening it is, but it is naturally brownish-green and stains, being tannin rich. So I’m excited to try aPAD
I've tried to use azelaic acid for brightening and anti aging purposes, but it turned out to be very drying for my skin. However I really liked it as a spot treatment. Pimples go away so much faster as well as dark marks.
I'm a broken record, Holy Grail: "Naturium Alzeic Acid EMULSION". The company has two prudoct with Azeliac. I have not tried the naturium alzeic acid alone. I started using the Emulsion for mask acne then after a month I noticed my melasma significantly Faded. The Emulsion also has bakuchiol and naicinmide. I normally cannot use either but the formulation in Naturium works. I really want to try your serum too. It seems like another gentle formalu I can use daily.
hi hun, I actually mentioned it in this video but the lighting was so so bad in the segment that I had to edit it out which is why its still in the thumbnail but I would totally recommend it for sure.. ,love xx
@@MadAboutSkin thumb nail has naturium azeliac topical I have not actually tried that one. The azeliac Emulsion is the good one. I'm just happy your highlighting this great ingredient definitely a staple for me
Yes please put up an image of what you are talking about. When you show the product in your hand you can’t see the label so you could make sure the label is visible as you hold it.
I’ve been using pure form 20% Azelaic acid for almost 12 months. I’ve not had any sensitivity or reaction at all, and I’m not sure whether it has delivered any benefits either. I started using it for hyperpigmentation but I honestly can’t confidently say that it’s done anything. I’ll keep on using it because it’s not doing me any harm and it might just do me some good, but the jury is still out on AA. Thanks for everything you do Rob. Love listening to you during my evening routine xx
Hey Rob, you said in this video the MAS super serum has a 20% concentration of Azelaic acid but I thought you had said in previous videos that it was 5%. Just wanting some clarification. Thanks and I hope you are having a great day😁
I am so so sorry for the confusion hun and thank you for pointing it out, I have submitted a correction edit which should show soon. its 5% for sure and I think I just got tongue tied lol.. love xx
Hi Rob. I recently discovered your channel and I am obsessed watching all your videos. I greatly appreciate the information you bring with simplicity for us novice skin care junkies to understand. I do have a question. Can you pair Azelaic acid or the derivative with vitamin C in the morning or with tretinoin at night?
I love AA. I tried that Skinoren first as it was all that was available here but oh no no…! Then I found Cos De Baha AA 10% which is my go to as it the most available to me. I’m currently using aPad though since picking it up in the UK as I prefer the consistency but is expensive to bring in to Thailand as DHL is always stopped by customs and you can end up paying over double the price with taxes/duties, handling and storage charges. Both give a similar effect, reduce any redness and calms the skin. My day time AA is of course the magical MAS got you covered serum❤
I find azelaic acid VERY effective for my breakouts and hyperpigmentation, but I just can't over the prickling sensation of it, especially around the nose and mouth area, which is why i stopped using it. I think I will be trying the derivates!
Not sure if it’s just in the American market, but saw that peach slices has an azelaic acid (10% I think) for an affordable price (I think it’s $20 at ulta). I haven’t tried it, but it seems like a promising azelaic acid to try!
I’ve been using the Peach slices cream twice a day for a week or so now and it’s already reducing my cheek redness! And no issues with it under makeup or drying my skin. I like it!
I love Azalea Acid and the FT15% was my OG but FT will no longer ship from their UK site to the US so sadly I can’t get it anymore 😢. I’m using the 10% but it just isn’t the same and my skin is sad 😢😮lol
Good news for Canadians, we can now buy Azelaic Acid. I used to be so annoyed that I had to buy The Ordinary’s AA 10% from the USA, even though they are a Canadian brand
About Revox. Someone noted in the comments of a different channel that there is a worrying issue with the ingredient list. Ethoxydiglycol is listed higher than AA, yet Ethoxydiglycol is not allowed In a higher concentration than 2,6% In a leave on product In the EU. So either the ingredients list is not In order, or the concentration of Ethoxydiglycol is 10% or above, or the concentration of AA is at 2,6% or below. This needs to ne cleared up.
YEs! It is helpful to have a still shot of the bottle/pack alongside you holding the bottle. Helps us zero in and when following the link and see the product we are more sure we have the right item. Thank you! X
Hi Rob! What do you think of the new ythe Inkey List Azelaic Acid? Have you tested it? I’ve tried G&G apad but didn’t work for me, actually it made my skin worse. 😢
The worst thing about azelaic acid is that is seems to reactivate the burning or tingling when you sweat. So if I put it on before bed and I sweat a little, it wakes me up in the middle of the night.
Not sure why no one mentions this in azelaic acid vids. If you find it stings your eyelids to apply your serums/cream/sunscreen after using azelaic acid, wait 15-20 minutes to apply everything else. I personally wait 25 minutes because my eyes are extra sensitive. This helps to avoid smearing and disturbing the layer :)
Hello. I’ve got the facetheory azelaic acid, so I’m wondering can I use retinol or ahas before applying azelaic acid? Ahas in a form of glycolic toner or Instytutum triple action resurfacing peel ?
I love PAD since regular Azelaic Acid makes me unbearably itchy! Two other PAD products not mentioned are the Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10% and the Paula's Choice Pore Purifier. I found both to be very oily-skin friendly, plus they had a great mix of antioxidants.
Hi hun, I actually did mention the Naturium one but the lighting was off in the segment so it got edited out which is a shame as I think its a great option which I would recommend for sure.. love xxxxx
I picked up a couple of facetheory's Lumizela to help with my rosacea prone/sensitive skin & enjoying it so far though not been using it long enough to judge just yet 👍
Been using Azelaic acid for years now. It took med THREE F'IN YEARS with Finacea gel (15%) and one year with Skinoren (20%) to tolerate Skinoren (20%)!!!! It burned som horrible it sometimes actually made me cry and i had to wash it off ... >< Now: Ut burns SOMETIMES a few min and then ok. I have rosacea and my trigger is friction. I can almost go bananas with acids and retinoids (no burning using glycolic acid), but Azelaic ... tough one! But the reward was soooo worth the hell-fire. I use it in combo with Tretinoin, glycolic, salicylic ...and a lot more shit. (Targeting rosacea, melasma, sun damages, and general "age smart".) (The one from the Ordinary was just to painful. Even though it's only 10%)
Hey everyone! Just to clarify, the MAS super serum has a 5% concentration of pure form azelaic acid (instead of the 20% mentioned in the video). Rob apologizes for any confusion caused! 😊
@@davidwebley6186 I think I got a little carried away lol but have edited in a correction which should show very soon :) hope all is amazing with you David xx
@@MadAboutSkinMr. Consistent, thank you! Love attending them. Great blend of knowledge, humor, and around others obsessed with skincare lol. Haven't made last few but tomorrow is shaped up to be a light day for me so can finally attend. See you then. Thanks
