@@iamggsam1890 because it might affect the relationship between amy and sheldon, or he doesnt wanna mention someone that was making him have a hard time.
That is pretty depressing. I prefer to imagine that Paige eventually grew up, got herself on a better track, and changed her name to Elizabeth Plimpton as a way of giving herself a fresh start, thus explaining that one friend with the notable wild streak who once came to visit Sheldon in the TBBT and was then never referenced again. We never really found out how Sheldon knew Elizabeth, let alone why he's so nice to her (changing up the bathroom schedule for her, getting protective when Leonard took an interest in her, etc.) almost like he might have known her a long time, and been ordered by someone he respects (like his mom) to look out for her. So this lets me put two questions to rest for the price of one character.
I love this theory and will think of her like this from now on. Honestly can't think of any other reason of how he would know Elizabeth and this would be fantastic.
I like this theory. I don't see why she had to change her name. I like to imagine that she eventually found success, camaraderie, and enjoyment in a job where nobody cared about her former giftedness or academic record.
I see that Paige is being to realize that being gifted is not as good as it seems. She is frustrated because she is an outsider, and is alone. She has expressed that she wishes she was not so smart, and would rather be perhaps like Missy. I think what happens is she just goes back to being a "little girl" and starts to suppress her intelligent. She and Sheldon simply drift apart.
Yep could be she just moved away while Sheldon was at Cal Tech and he never bothered to stay in touch or she never left an address. They were friends, but not bet friends. Could be too that she rebelled again like the time she ran away with Missy, though this time she made a poor choice in who she ran with, or she did it alone and fell in with the wrong person and things took a very bad turn for her either with drugs, an abusive guy, possible legal entanglements that saw her end up in prison. Either way, it might explain why Sheldon never mentions her as he either knows nothing of her since Young Sheldon was set, or he does, but it makes him uncomfortable or sad, so he doesn't discuss it.
That thought also occured to me and for me, an OD or suicide might be a valid theory considering paige's appearances and Sheldon in the beginning of TBBT is way less social which might be a cause of a wound that whatever happened to Paige and the death of his dad left behind
@michealwou1667 Actually it’s a retcon,Big Bang theory was made first and by different writers compared to Young Sheldon. It’s stupid that they retconned it since it doesn’t coincide with the original show.
@@keorishalashaka2064 It’s really due to the Young Sheldon writers making George more likable than he was supposed to be so they were pretty much forced to adjust accordingly to his character’s trajectory
This video says absolutely nothing. The real answer is: BBT was made first. When you make a prequel later, it's near impossible to not create plot holes or things not discussed.
It is also natural that people's friends drift apart after so many years. Paige did not have to suffer the curse of most sitcom characters. Most sitcom characters seem cursed to have the same friend group from cradle to grave.
@@sleekoduck Not really. They needed someone to antagonize Sheldon on an intellectual level as a kid. Not existing in BBT time doesn't mean she never once would have been mentioned when everyone else was. It was an afterthought and they likely didn't think anyone would care or notice. Like having the black lady nurse tend to him when he had his gall bladder removed as a kid, then 15-20 years later, she's younger and at his hospital in Cali. It's also possible Paige does exist in BBT and Sheldon doesn't acknowledge her. Even in YS, he repeatedly says he's a "Once in a generation mind", yet it's repeatedly pointed out that Paige is smarter than he is. Maybe Sheldon's narcissism is the reason Paige isn't mentioned later.
Sheldon’s childhood best friend was not invited to the wedding and only appeared in one episode. A girl he once knew not being in tbbt could just mean nothing.
that makes sense, when Sheldon (in the "bing bang theory") welcomed that prodigy kid from Asia, he was fixated with him for him a real rival but after this Asian kid dropped out college for hooking up with a girl, Sheldon forgot about him
@@lastraven8575 The last episode of TBBT was May 2019. Young Sheldon started in September 2017 and Paige wasn't introduced until Season 2 when TBBT was already off the air.
Season 4 kinda confirmed that Sheldon never stopped fixating even when he won the Nobel Prize but telling a story about Paige to the Big Bang Theory gang is not something Sheldon that will likely do because Paige is someone who always got the best of Sheldon when they met and Sheldon will not discuss someone if he knows deep down that he loss to that person. The only way I see Paige being introduced to the Big Bang Theory gang is if Paige was one of the audiences during Sheldon’s Nobel Prize speech and Paige goes up to Sheldon and congratulates him personally.
Of course - the reason characters such as Paige and Mandy are not mentioned on TBBT is because they didn't exist when it was filming. These characters only came into existence with Young Sheldon. I knew a kid who was like Sheldon and ended up going down a bad road. That stuff does happen. I also knew a number of people who changed completely from who they were as children to who they became as adults. There is no telling what is going to happen to Paige.
Yeah and I know some people who don’t change and I know some people who do what’s your point my guy Paige is just not that important and the show is still going on which they will explain what happened to her and why Sheldon doesn’t bring her up you assuming this show idea came after big bang theory is stupid as these writers been working on this story way before big bang theory first pilot episode launched
that makes sense, when Sheldon (in the "bing bang theory") welcomed that prodigy kid from Asia, he was fixated with him for him a real rival but after this Asian kid dropped out college for hooking up with a girl, Sheldon forgot about him
I know one thing they regret Sheldon being fatherless at a young age in tbbt and had to right him off in young Sheldon 😩 like we all knew it was coming but I loved George in YS
Wild guess here; Paige and her mother will turn up at George's funeral. Afterwards he will reveal that his dad and her mom (not Brenda Sparks) were having an affair. Paige gets furious with him assuming he's lying but Sheldon makes her realize he's telling the truth. The last time we see her, she runs out of the funeral home in tears and screams at the sky in a fit of rage. Fortunately, older Sheldon reveals that life does get better for her, although I don't want to reveal how.
@@kaychi232 Wow, I wasn't sure anybody would be interested. Okay, Sheldon secretly recommends her for a job as a teacher's assistant/tutor at Medford High School. At some point, she's assigned to some boy who's having trouble in some class and uses his crush on him to her advantage as part of his lesson. They become a couple, he graduates with fairly impressive SAT scores, and they get married while he's in college. Of course, we have no guarantee any of this is going to happen, but it'd be nice to give her a happy ending.
Nice theory but let's keep in mind that the big bang theory aired before young sheldon and they might just have made paiges character specifically for young sheldon. Of course tbbt continued for one or two more years after her first appearance on young sheldon so she could have been featured in the last season but that would've been really random since, as far as i know, she was never even mentioned on tbbt
Sheldon & Paige never would have worked out. The simple fact is, Paige is a little smarter than Sheldon, and Sheldon simply too immature and petty to have this work!
WHAT IF PENNY IS PAIGE. HEAR ME OUT. She just started to act not as smart to cover up the way she is. She ran away, changed her backstory and her name. But that’s just a theory
Can’t be true because in the season 3 finale they showed the entire big bang theory characters as children and penny was not at all looking like Paige. This would be a good theory if the finale didn’t do that
Paige was never mentioned in tbbt because there is no Paige and never was, till the moment geniuses that tried to write "young sheldon" desperately needed more characters
Let's be clear about Sheldon, he was selfish. He had no Interest in helping Paige. He was focused on his life and career. And that's fine. It's not the job of 1 kid to help another kid.
I don't remember Sheldon ever having a mustasche. Sheldon did not mature much on The Big Bang Theory. I am not sure Paige was that tragic in her story. The audience should be free to fill in the blanks in her storyline. Based on how academia is so dysfunctional, and how Sheldon's friend group was, Paige might have been wise to run away. She might have been someone who just did not stay in her lane. She probably saw parts of the world and of the workforce where nobody cared about her academic record. The audience could imagine that Sheldon only doesn't mention her because people naturally drift apart, not because of anything dark. We can imagine that Paige found success in a job where nobody cared about her being a former prodigy. If so, Paige succeeded in a job where Sheldon would have been fired quickly.
If Tam has appeared in TBBT, Paige should've been too... We are talking about a guy who kept records about his "enemies", each and every hurt he had from his youngest age... She must have had been on that list too. Basically, the two shows were not adjusted to each other, this is the reason of this many inconsistencies.
You know... I think paige probably died. She hated being gifted academically. Drinking or drugs usually makes you stop thinking and I think that's what she got addicted to. And eventually met her demise. But I also hope she ran away as soon as she was legal to do so and lived her life without pressure and is happy. She cut off everyone including her bestie and mom just to get a fresh new start. I HOPE that's why cause she's so cute.
You think too hard. She wasn’t mentioned in The Big Bang Theory because she hadn’t been created yet. LOTS of characters on Young Sheldon were never mentioned in The Big Bang Theory. Billy Sparks, Drs. Sturgis and Linkletter, President Hagemeyer, etc. also, the AI voice is massively annoying.
@@mikasalily9647 nobody understands event because the script writers on BBT never wrote it any thoughts on what happened is in the imagination of the viewers(and the crappy AI voice)
Not finished binging the series yet, but halfway in, Paige's story was very relatable to my own growing up. Most gifted kids do not grow up to become physicists or scientists or astronauts. We become insurance professionals and accountants. I've kept in touch with my gifted classmates. One was the sole survivor in a car accident in high school that killed five girls. One became a homeless crackhead. One is a professor like Sheldon who was devastated when their spouse died. One was killed in first grade during a Little League game when he was run over by a truck. Smart people are not immune from tragedy.
Small, spoiler alert she doesn’t return at all in young Sheldon enough that I just finished walking the series finale just 25 minutes ago. It was a double episode, season finale, and she didn’t come back and she didn’t come back in last weeks the bottom sodas at all and this past season, which was the final season not gonna say any more about the episode just that never comes back not even in this final two episodes.
come on people get real the reason she is NOT in the BBT is because the scriptwritters did not put her there or they could not find actress that looked vaugley like here you do realise that it is DRAMA and not a documentary
I feel the reason he doesnt bring up paige is because he could have ended up like her with his dad passing and his family drifting apart and us mad at himself for not trying harder to help her even though he dont know how to
Here my theory pagie changed her name for a fresh start and is Alisha Sheldon mentioned like 2 time during that thing with military application episode
Usually very high IQ people are recruited by CIA, NSA and other intelligence agencies to carry out difficult operations for safe guarding the country against an international threat. I think it's highly possible that Paige being a highly intelligent person and having a distraught upbringing could have been recruited by the CIA or NSA. It's highly possible she would have been on a missions during the events of TBBT. It's possible she never kept connect with any of her loved ones in order to protect them from her enemies. OMG this opens up the plot for an entirely new show.
I liked the Page character that they had as well, they have good stories for all characters. For all we know Page could of went to work in some high paying think tank.
Sheldon and Amy are more alike than Paige and Sheldon, but Paige and Sheldon, I think, would have grown more as scientists and faster as a couple, but I'm not sure they would have lasted as a couple
I'm curious if any of the other cast has signed on as regulars. But I'd like to see Paige again. It seemed like she got along with Missy if I recall correctly.
In fairness the show runners basically said she is a movie start now so the actress is hard to get and we didn’t think her character was so popular. Basically couldn’t get the actor in and thought no one would notice!
sheldon should make a grandpa sheldon show he can make farting sounds with arm pits and belching contests and due science ass fart gas science experiments with a torch hahaha
I like to think there is a alternate reality where Sheldon and Paige actually became friends and stayed in contact with each other when Sheldon moved to California and she would make appearances in that TBBT storyline.
Yeah but I think he still does remember page maybe he just didn’t want to mention her or maybe Sheldon promise page that she wouldn’t tell anyone about her past experience before he left for college
Before they did the TV show, young Sheldon, you only heard snippets of his past according to the Sheldon character and when you look at when they did young Sheldon, you’re seeing it in a different perspective from the point of you versus the adult when you’re seeing it different portrayed than what actually portrayed in the Big Bang theory but Problem you have is you can’t sit there and wonder why he didn’t mention page just because the writers when they were still having the big bang theory coincidence young Sheldon decided not to mention her in the show you gotta be careful on the speculation just because she didn’t have heras one of the friends, they are even on arrival rival type friendship, right they’re gonna be limited because the young Sheldon’s only gonna be on for so long before they have to end it or coincides with things popping up for the
I don't remember the cap, but she will be an special agent on The Big Bang Theory.. U can search that, there's a cap when an agent named Paige make an interview to the people because howart gonna be an astronaut
There's no "tragic fate". That's clickbait. She may not be important enough to the show to get a write-off. A throw-away line about how she still keeps in touch with Missy is all they need to do.
Holy 💩! Some of these comments are pretty dark. Why don't we just hope she's ok. Pretty sure her career is keeping her pretty busy. Hopefully alot of old faces show up at George's funeral.
Instead of villainizing Sheldon undiagnosed highly functional autistic sume what mechanical but does not always get human emotions. Which effects him making and keeping friends.
Could be. She was rebellious and could have had a bad night with some drugs or alcohol and a car, or getting involved with the wrong kind of guy to go on the run with and it ended with the cops and she got caught in the crossfire.
@@kentvesser9484 We're already going to be dealing with George's death....I'm hoping Paige just got married......a truly funny theory? Maybe Paige could become a couple with Sheldon's tutor Mei-Tung. Honestly her going gay would be refreshing. Paige and Mei-Tung together would drive him crazy.
@@philiprice7875 It's not probable but possible we could see her again. They didn't do too badly tying up plotholes but Paige was the big one (It's not the producers/writer's fault, McKenna wasn't available to film anything for this season as she was filming the new Ghostbusters movie)
Does anyone feel like this was made by AI? A lot of the same images kept being used over and over very close together and then a word was mispronounced. Could just be me.
Writers digging themselves a hole trying to get ratings. Tam was lucky. Tell me this,.... Mary & Mandy's Mom Baptized CC behind Mandy & Georgie's back,....If this was such a big deal to Mary why did she allow Georgie to be a teenager unbaptized when he voluntarily did it for Veronica? It's just a show & forget Paige. Missy, Mandy & Connie are the most interesting on the show. Paige can follow Missy's show. " Hail, Sheldon's gone."
they christened the baby which is just welcoming them into the church and vowing to raise them in the church. baptism is voluntary and based on the person. she didn't want georgie getting baptized for the wrong reasons i.e starting his personal journey w God based on a lie HE told. it's hypocritical when you get into it but very on brand
Honestly with sheldon consdering paige was a genius child prodigy like him she could have grew up and had a perfectly normal life and not become some kind of world class pshychists sorry that I butuchered the spelling on that then he would consdier that fate for her to be tragic
