Wow ! I guess it must cost extra to be able to shift from the Captains chair. Great videos.
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
I just got back from Malapascua doing some scuba diving and the dive boats have hand made shift linkage (just some welded steel rods) that the captain can shift from beside the captains chair. Thanks for watching!

That is correct. I'm going on 25 years living in America, working my butt off to save for my dreams of having a nice small house near the ocean and owning a medium sized motorboat in the Philippines. Eat seafood everyday... ;) ;)

figure out what size engine it is, then go find a compatible electric starter for it. You might have to modify a bracket to mount it on the block. Are you using salt water for cooling the block?
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030

This is an isuzu diesel engine and comes with an electric starter and transmission. Yes it is using salt water for cooling.
@draxxes1
@draxxes1 4 года назад
@@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 it's a beautiful boat! Can't go wrong with diesel engines. :) How do you deal with salt water as cooling, is the block sleeved with aluminum or SS? If this isn't a marine engine I would probably convert it to a closed radiator system for cooling.
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 4 года назад
@@draxxes1 people here don't give any consideration to corrosion, they just run them until they die, which honestly is several years. I personally would convert to a closed cooling system as it also prevents sucking up sand and small debris into the waterpump.

Thats all the question: how big is maximum a boat that can be managed from a 2-persons crew?
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 4 года назад
I'm just guessing. If a Filipino style boat maybe 30 feet long. I plan to build a trimaran and it will be about 30 feet long and my wife and I should be able to manage it. Many you tube sailing channels have 40 to 50 foot boats and just 2 people manage to sail around the world on their catamaran.

@@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 A Crew of 2 should be able to handle most multihull sailboats (Tri or Cat) from 25-50 ft depending how it's rigged. Modern designs with roller furling sails, winches and anchor windlass makes it easy. I built a Ian Farrier designed F-9A (31') trailerable fast trimaran in the 90's. My wife and I handled it pretty easy but it's a racer, not a cruiser and it doesn't have enough space or weight carrying capacity. I'm reluctant to sell it because my father and brother helped me build it and they both have passed but it's no longer the right boat for me. I'd like to get a 45' cruising cat and travel the world before I'm too old. FYI - Most cats do not sail to windward well but trimarans usually do. Cats have more space though and are usually the best cruising boats.

@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
It is the village captains boat not mine. It has 2 - 4 cyl isuzu engines and the props have 2 blades and are about 16 inches, the rudder is just a flat piece of stainless steel sheet cut to size and welded to a stainless shaft (hand made rudder)

It took me 2 solid years to built my carbon fiber 31' sailing trimaran launched in 1993. But it is a very hi tech, complex boat that folds up for trailering. Banca boats are faster to built for sure, and much cheaper. Mine cost $85,000 in 1992 US dollars. If I moved back to the PI, I'd probably just get a small 20' banca w/ 16hp engine for fishing trips. Ideally I'd like to get a cruising catamaran but they are expensive.

What is the dimension of that boat? And estimate cost?Planning to have one.
@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
Dennis Bancairen I'm guessing about 40 feet. Personally I would build a much different boat, this boat has too deep a draft and keeps getting stuck bottoming out near the shore the ocean is very shallow around Bantayan island until you are about 1/4 mile out, also it requires a crew of maybe 6 people everytime it goes out (you have to pay them). Depending on what your needs are for a boat you probably would choose a more fitting design. This boat is not made for creature comforts it is a working boat. The price for this boat was about 1 million pesos. I hope this information helps.
