I agree with all your points except for that Gabe and Alex don’t end up at Haven where their dad died by pure coincidence. It’s never very explicitly stated throughout the game but Gabe came to Haven because he was searching for their father. I’m guessing this isn’t very clearly expressed as Alex wouldn’t really know this but you can piece this together from some of the stuff you find in the apartment and I believe that some of the other characters (Jed?) allude to knowing this fact

Gabe and his father both ending up in Haven was not dumb accident. Gabe moved there exactly because he was trying to reconnect with his father.

OKay but the first time I played True Colors I was with my best friend and his brother. When it came to talk to ryan in episode two and Alex said "What emotion is this" while straight up T-posing was just legendary, whether it was a mistake or someone just saw the opportunity, I will always remember it as the greatest moment of gaming in my life Edit: You guys I have the video 💀

I liked true colors more but that’s because it resonated with so much of what makes me who I am and what’s happened in my life, and it’s represented these things in a way I can’t find anywhere else. This is the only piece of media that I’ve ever felt has truly spoken to me.

I don’t know how to put it but this has become one of my favorite Rowby videos. It’s like I can feel the passion radiating from every word and joke and boom, FF15 video has to give up its crown as the favorite.

I will never know what made the people behind it give this game a $60 price tag. You can't put a price on enjoyment value, of course, but the game's play length is 6-16 hours long, with very little replay value. It should be $30 at the very most for that.

I had a whole essay about how this has been my favorite video of yours so far, this is better than most “video game essays” and considering I subscribed almost 2 years ago because I was getting into Dbd I wanted to say thank you Rowby for keeping the content coming, but that sounds almost genuine instead I’ll just say hella lit bruh

Just recently found your RU-vid channel and all i want to say is keep going man you are an amazing RU-vidr

After having played this game, I really feel like most of it was quite poorly written. It had me rolling my eyes quite a few times, and many of the more "impactful" moments in the earlier chapters felt pretty contrived to me. I also wasn't really a fan of Steph, and am getting a bit tired of the "outspoken punk lady with attitude and a love of weed" thing... It worked for Chloe, but this just felt like Chloe v2, rather than her feeling like her own person. Granted, her interest in fantasy games was a different trait, but it felt a bit too much, like I was being hit over the head with it. Where the game *really* started to hit me in a great way was in chapter 5, which I thought was brilliant. If the whole game had been written the way the 5th chapter was, I think I'd have a very different overall opinion on the game. Diving into these extremely traumatic moments of Alex's life and seeing how her empathy power worked alongside that was such a great way to experience those moments, especially with the "play your part" stuff. None of this overcomes the rest of the game's shortcomings, but at least it ended in a way that I thought was worth playing through.

That was interesting, I've never played either game but I still watched the whole thing to hear what points you made. Well done

Well, I liked Life is Strange 1 because I am an introvert like Max and I am lesbian. In fact, the game got me interested in fan fiction because I needed to know how Max survived the loss of Chloe or Arcadia Bay. I didn't feel the same degree od involvement with True Colors

Life is Strange the first game, is awful. I hate everything about it. The characters are shallow, Chloe is a selfish person, Max is a coward with no back bone. None of the characters are interesting. The graphics are boring. We don’t know who Rachel was. I honestly didn’t care about her at all. Turns out she’s an emotional manipulator, so that makes me more annoyed. Alex and Gabe are compelling characters. We got to know Gabe, we cared about him. Then he dies. We care. Why? Because we got to know him. We know how he affected everyone. He’s awesome. I was invested in trying to find out what happened.

I expected a 40 minute bitch fest, but I'm happy with your take. I still think 1 is better than colours, but this video makes me realise I couldn't explain why in a concise manner. Now review 2, because that's barely salvageable in terms of plot consistency and the actual piecing together of the story imo.

Life is Strange stuck with me because it was the first game where I saw myself. A lot of the characters had something I was going through, be it abuse, trauma or dumb moments that were only fun because I had a good friend with me. It connected with me like no other game did at the time and that was and always will be special to me. It might have been badly executed, badly written, might've even looked bad for some people, but I was a cringe, depressed little doormat when I first played it and no criticism of it can take away the comfort I felt because of this game. On the other hand LiS: True Colors is a boring mess that I just dislike heavily. Only good things are the music and potential wholesome moments between Ryan and Alex. And bringing back Steph was just cheap, I really did not like that.

Love the first game and the prequel, really like lis 2 (and i think you should try it) but I have never played lis true colors and I don't think I will (know all about it though)

I don’t like how many episodes you have to buy for it to be a full game. If it was a full game, I would actually buy one of them. I thought I bought it when I came out and I guess it was just one episode and it was very short. I’m not spending a paycheck unless I know it’s a good game.

i really wish these games stopped trying to be like movies except you get to make a completely binary decision with 2 options, either one affecting the story differently. they just seem to be constantly disappointing and lackluster. heavy rain, beyond two souls, detroit become human, breaking dawn or whatever that horror game that featured the butterfly effect was called, and finally life is strange. ive been waiting for 10 years for something in this genre to be gripping and not once have any of them been a hit

I still havent finished True Colors yet, ill come back when im finished. Im done. Characters are cool, visuals are the best theyve ever been. Alex and her powers of charizzma had me liking her from the beginning, and the LARP was cool. But the actual conflict of the story was almost non existent and the ending killed alot of my attention for the story.

For someone who claims to came to Haven in search of his father, Gabe doesnt do much searching. He doesnt have any powers, but just asking around should give him clues there is something fishy about mining company and their employees. Weakest point of entire plot is fact couple of people died, but somehow mining company managed to keep it secret. Nobody was missing them? Were all of them runaway dads? And they didnt even bother to clean it up! They left bodies there, only panicking when inspection was about to come. Rofl... But good Gabe found himself girlfriend and stepson, at least it wasnt complete waste of time. No, sorry. TC story is full of crap. LiS story was full of crap too, but at least, it was giving sense majority of time.

Honestly life is strange is a game that sadly never caught my interest, idk if it's bc of my ex homophobic beliefs or that my only interest was either Call Of Duty or Assassin Creed? But now being a little bit more grown (and no longer homophobic) life is strange true color's is a game I actually got interested in and decently enjoyed along with the sound track! (Which funny enough some of the songs was actually produce by my favorite artist mxmtoon) while playing it at a friend's house. Sadly tho I wasn't able to finish it and had to leave because of work the next day and as of recently college applications :/ Thankfully you came in clutch where I had either left off or was wondering what had happened left.
