Jill the add on to the topper is brilliant. If they made these toppers to be able to add length at will they would open up a whole new product line. This would be great for people wanting to grow their bio hairs out. Nice work.
Jill...you are beautiful inside and out and your bio hair doesn't look bad at all. My bio hair is thinning and about like yours is and I also use the powder, Topic as needed but love the Batiste Dry shampoo too and they have it for "blonde"!. I don't want to go to a wig yet, so hoping to find a thickener and continue to use fillers. It fills in so nicely too and makes the hair thicker feeling and easier to style. Your tips for beauty tutorials are so helpful and easy to understand. Thanks for taking time to share!
How did you read my mind? I got a Belle tress topper recently and I also found it to be lacking in coverage for me in the back. I was clipping in the same JR piece! But I clipped the JR piece to the back of my actual head which was pulling and painful. I love the idea of clipping the JR extension piece to the topper. Brilliant! And I appreciate the no sewing required. This girl does not sew 😁
I love it when this happens! ;) I too tried clipping the piece into my head (within the piece) and it wasn't comfortable. The whole reason I am in love with toppers is the comfort! This works great!
Another trick is to add a halo extension piece below your topper, to add length and volume. I sew two wig clips on each side of the halo piece for extra security. Then I add the topper to my head as usual. Works great!
Here I am again, but just gotta say I’m SO impressed with this video and idea. I have this problem too and thought I just had to deal with it but now I don’t! Great, great idea. I just ordered the piece and will use to add to my toppers. Love the idea that I can mix and match it if I want. Thanks again!
I hear you regarding the peroxide colour hair extensions being very yellow,, I found when I used the purple shampoo they turned purple which refused to wash out!! You did a fabulous job with the topper❤️you look very glamorous... Thankyou so much for this,, we really do appreciate you 💕💖
Very clever, Jill. That Belle Tress topper does need more density with a different hair color. I have a 4/33 biohair color (dark brown with auburn blended in) so it isn't as much an issue for me. Do you know the weight of the Belle Tress topper? I can't seem to find it. Coincidentally, this morning I just got the human hair Jon Renau EasiPart XL in 4/33. I wore my synthetic Easipart XL to a wedding weekend and loved it. Its only problem being heat defiant, it does seem to knot together. Hopefully the Remy hair will not and it is slightly lighter in weight. Toppers are better for me than wigs. If only I had known that before I bought so many wigs over the past five years (I won't tell you how many, it's scary). I have had a good experience with Remy extensions that I bought 30 years ago! They have held up perfectly through enumerable wearings and washings. I even dyed them. They are from the Garland company and apparently are no longer made, so I am treating mine like gold. Anyway, thank you for putting all this time into your videos. You are the reason I discovered how gorgeous toppers are! xo
Very informative..this is all new to me. Going through chemo, I was wondering what the difference between a topper and a wig was!! I understand now. Great video!!
What a great idea. You have great coverage. I am just not up for anything that much trouble. I’m so wanting a great topper that works for my longer hair that is now silver gray. Love my new hair when the dark brown grew off. BTW. My name is not Gary. I stole is iPad. Jeanelle
I do so enjoy your videos. Thank you! I am 77 and my hair loss is getting unsightly and I am looking at what to do next. I love to wear my hair up as I look better with it not so close to my face. Can you please show some styles using a topper with a low bun in back? Thanking you!
Very clever idea! Maybe remove the two bottom clips that you dont use on the added piece to eliminate a little weight and added smoothness in that area?
Hi Karrie! Well, I don't want to alter it because I may utilize it in another way with another piece in the future. Those clips definitely don't add bulk or make it less smooth. ;)
I need to purchase two I bought 2 toppers one in Chai Latte and 1424S10. Both 18 inch toppers, one Belltress and a Jon Renau. Thanks so much ! I'm tired of searching for tracks to sew in that don't match toppers with not enough hair ! Great Video
I am having same problem. I cant get the lace to lay down flot on forehead so I wonder if there is a way to make it a topper with my bio hair coming out in front?
Brilliant idea, Jill! I've been thinking of getting the Top Wave but never felt it had decent coverage in the back. Since the crown piece is HD, maybe I could do this with those two pieces and just curl in some beachy waves to the crown piece!
My 18” Top Wave is sparse in back. This is a great idea. I’d have to add waves to the crown- but it is heat defiant. RW “Go All Out” is a bit sparse as well. It makes no sense for these companies to not provide better coverage. If your scalp on the crown is thin or bald, the hair below it will not be presentable! This is my only problem area, so I really don’t want to move up to a wig.
with purple shampoo/ conditioner, i would recommend filling up your sink or a bucket with warm water and pour a few pumps of the purple shampoo/conditioner in the water and mix it up with a utensil until is is completely mixed in to the water and then slowly dip the hair extensions from the weft first into the water and dunk its up and down slowly and pull the hair out of the water between dunkings to check the color and this will prevent patchiness and banding!
I botched and ruined a few extension pieces by pouring the purple shampoo directly onto them. The lesson learned was exactly what you explained. Mix the shampoo into water and dissolve firsr. Platinum and beach blonde #613 colors are so light and porous that it grabs immediately and will be blotchy unless one is very careful!
Brilliant! I may try using this idea with my Top Billing topper, it's a little sparse in the back, so I just use it as an 'updo' piece for now (which I love too!) but would be so nice to wear it down as well :-)
Thank you for your great videos most helpful. Do you have any hints/tips on psoriasis? I use coconut oil at present which is nice but messy. I'm just waiting for delivery of Uniwigs Claire wavy topper - my 1st topper ever! Love to you from England x
i am a woman with plenty of hair but i so do love vesatility, ingenuity, creativity, and choice...thinking and wearing "out of the box"...ii am approaching 60 and started with hair pieces in my 30s...i tell everyone whom compliments my hair that it is a wig etc...for i feel there should be no shame in doing so,,,hence by speaking my truth i hopefully inspire other women and perhaps men too to do the same...you are a beautiful woman and come across to myself as a very kind, honest and most importantly sincere in helping and inspiring others ...thank you
I am trying to get a hold of you need a topperl hd white or shaded biscuit something that I can curl with a little more hair thantop billing thanks zoe
Hi Jill, try the Joan River's powder, it works great and lasts a long time. I wonder if you had used a demi permanent toner, such as Redken Shades, would have given you better results. xoxo Joan
Hi! I was going to try it the last time I needed to repurchase...but, it was sold out. It is quite a bit more expensive than the one I use but, hopefully it will last a lot longer. ;)
I am so happy you found this helpful! They make so many different options in top pieces based upon your needs! Do a little research, and I think there will be a perfect option for you!! It is taking me a little bit to learn what options I have, but so happy to have found toppers!
I clip in hair extensions to fill in the back. They are not expensive. Also I would recommend a topper (if you have bio hair because they are not as expensive, itchy, or hot.
European human hair (more expensive and way better quality) will lift to any color blonde...Asian hair unfortunately will not 🤷♀️ Two toppers looks very heavy (I’ve tried and got headaches). I love your solutions... I will stay tuned 🤗 Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy all your information.
I just don't think I would get much use out of extensions really...so doubt I will invest. This Crown topper is amazing, and perfect for my needs. It weighs one ounce, but you CAN feel that extra ounce. Not so much that it gives me grief however, but just wanted to let viewers know it does add that extra weight. ;) Thanks so much for watching, and I am very happy to know you have found them helpful!!
