G’day Guys,
On the 10th anniversary of the original release of ‘The Big Lap’ film series on DVD we’re excited to finally bring it to RU-vid and share it with the world.
And best of all, we’ve used AI technology to digitally remaster the series from the original HD format to stunning 4K and 50 frames per second.
It now looks even better on RU-vid than the original video that we filmed!
Amazing!
All 10 episodes will be released over the next few weeks so make sure you SUBSCRIBE and turn on your notifications so you can be one of the first to watch.

I purchased the Blue Ray set some years ago and disc 2 never played properly, there is a fair amount of pixelation during episode 5 that I have to scroll past the damage. Disc looks perfect with no scratches or blemishes so not sure what went wrong with it. I do love what I can actually watch though and only got it out recently to start planning for the Gibb River trip.

Sorry to hear about that disc. Not sure what would cause that?! If you want to send me your postal details through the contact page on our website I’ll see if I can find a spare disc and send you a replacement. Otherwise the RU-vid version is better being remastered in 4K.

You have inspired so many people to travel and they in turn get out and travel and have a youtube channel. Your videos were so well produced, so many connected you you and your family on your adventure. I have watched 'the big lap series' 4 times now. One day Sarah and I and our dog Clover, will be out there. doing our travels. I think we have the best country in the world. We are so blessed.

Thanks Steve@@ExpeditionAustralia I gave the trial version a go on a really old 640 x 480 (76mb file size) video and didn't really notice an improvement. One thing I did notice is the CPU temp went up by 20 degrees. I have a fairly robust computer so not sure how it would go on an older one. Looking forward to watching The Big Lap again in better quality though. Cheers

Yeah it seems to struggle with the really low res videos. Better results with the HD to 4K. My MacBook Pro has been working overtime for months processing the files with fan running the whole time but gets there eventually. My older iMac that I edit on really struggles!
