One of the greatest movies of all time. Soon it will be a 100 years old and still will touch our hearts as it did a century ago. Art has no frontiers, nor has humanity, and time is just a number. May it touch the hearts of men for a thousand years more.
In the prior sequence, when Jim tells his mother that he loves a girl in France, she replies, “Then you must find her…nothing else matters.” I like to think we'd all want our mom to say the same thing. One of the best closing scenes of all time!
We just watched the entire BW silent movie - almost 3 hours long, not a moment to spare throughout with full piano accompaniment by Richard Hughes at the Framingham, Mass Public Library. Bravo Bravissimo. Also one suprise scene with a large ambulance and its red cross sign in brilliant red color.
