Ren ALWAYS looks like he is one with the music, his expressions, his movements, his vocals, I love watching him perform as much as I enjoy listening to him perform, he brings me joy.

One of my absolute favourites. I love watching Ren play, he just becomes one with the music and it’s like he ascends. Such a beautiful sight. I love his bass solo, you don’t see it very often anymore. I just love everything about that man 😂🖤

Wade in the Water is a 19th, possibly 18th century spiritual. The second part sung by Gorran is properly called Feeling Good, and actually is a Nina Simone song. The third, Trouble So Hard , is usually associated with Vera Hall, an Alabama folk and gospel singer.
To me this is one of their top performances, and would be hard to beat by any street bands today. Each one of them are so connected, even the drummer on his really basic kit just works. Nice reaction as usual.
Yeah, Ren's voice is unreal, and his bass play is fantastic. Glenn is playing the drums extremely tightly, love it. Gorran is also singing beautifully and Romain's guitar is great as always. A true gem.
Rich, you need to look up these old songs. Wade in the water, is an old spiritual song during slavery. Wade in the water has a special meaning for the fleeing slaves who got in the water to hide from the dogs. Trouble So Hard, was by Adell Ward "Trouble So Hard", she was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 2005.

The big push are so talented! I also like live usually more than studio, it really shows who the artist is. I suggest doing Paint it black (Rolling Stoned cover), the performance has an amazing vibe and is just a joy to watch.

This is one of TBP's signature mash-ups. It's songs sung by the great Nina Simone but Wade in the Water was originally sung by Harriet Tubman as she guided escaping slaves to freedom. The song told them to get into the water so that tracking dogs would lose their scent.

Will 100% agree live music beats anything. There's some really cool things you can do in the studio, but live it's just...real. Ren's acoustic tracks have so much more feeling than the produced ones. It depends on the 'artist'. Most artists sound worse live. Then there's that small group of genuine artists, who sound as good, or better, live. Ren's definitely one of those. He's always incredible live and if there's a studio version and a live version, I inevitably prefer the live version. The Big Push as a whole are usually electrifying live too. :)
Since you asked...maybe listen to Nina Simone? BTW The Big Push covers a Buddy Guy song "What Kind of Woman is This?" (it has some Jimi Hendrix riffs in it) ..doesn;t get as much play but I think its FKN FIRE! Love this reaction!
