okay, so Derren was acting all surprised that he was leaving the house and heading towards the police station and they drove him across town as if they had to catch up with him. But how in the world would they have gotten the entire cast together along with a bartender ready for his "spontaneous" decision to turn him self in?
Che8t I was thinking the exact same thing. If he didn't expect or plan for him to leave the hotel and go to the 'police station' how did they have everything all there waiting for him? Lost me at that point. But I still love Darren's shows, he is a great showman. I just sometimes I have trouble believing these experiment type shows he does, there are always a few key elements that just don't seem to add up.
Ricci Tambor the microphone men and other camera men obviously followed him in the car. And of course Derren wasn't surprised and it wasn't a coincidence the whole point was to make him confess to murder so Derren wasn't surprised to find he confessed to a murder
Purposefully making it seem as if the situation is out of control to make it more suspensful for the viewers. Theres got to be a bit of deception for us as well. Its great entertainment strategy
I'm a huge DB fan! However does anyone else think that this is "too far"? It's too much IMO to convince someone that they've murdered someone. Surely? Anyone else agree with me? Or am I being to sensitive about it?
Bluxxa its called the ageing process, basically as people get older they age - yes, amazing but true - and this process can include such things as hair loss, the loosening of skin thus creating wrinkles and generally growing OLD. It's something you cannot halt or control without the aid of cosmetic procedures - even if you are a master of illusion like a Derren Brown!
Loved it and hated it. It reminded me of a research project regarding inmate /correction officer interactions. Not as extreme but I think getting him to admit to stealing the necklace was enough to prove the theory.
A bit of a late reply, but he could've just had it setup so that the police were supposed to drive him there instead. He was obviously supposed to end up there, but how he got there may have been the surprise. It's a pretty simple explanation, but we'll never know. Just playing devil's advocate.
Not sure if you can really consider it impressive to make someone think they killed someone and then admit to it. Not really the same as making someone admit to a murder that they knew they didnt commit but admitted to it anyway which is what it seemed like it was supposed to be from the start
