Nice review 👍 It looks right on par with the Ion Block Rocker only cheaper! How is the sound once you go over 75% on the master volume? I know that on the block rocker you do start to get some heavy distortion. I usually keep the master volume at 75% or under and adjust volume from my phone to avoid distortion.
+Javi's Boom Tech hey javi, thanks man. yeh that sounds about exactly what i do, although i do feel this one can play slightly higher than 75% cleanly. block rocker is cool too because from what i understand you can charge your phone and i think the newer one has even slightly better battery life. but sound wise i imagine they are very very close. btw, cool channel you got goin on there man. and like your profile image
Honestly I don't understand why your channel hasn't blown well over 100k subsribers. You do a very good job reviewing tech stuff. Keep up the good work, you will get there, I promise.
Bought this 3 years ago...Not a bad speaker..Keep in mind that the Rechargeable battery will eventually die for good..With this particular speaker you can simply replace the battery for $15.The 3 other brands I own are dead and can't be replaced so I have to use the AC only for them.
Great video, I think im going to buy this and mabye try to do a review on it. Thanks so much for the exposure to it, I never would have found it on my own!
M Zvan I have 2 Rock and Roller 4s, the problem with the big Monsters is they only run off battery. If your charging system goes its a brick. I have 2 failures out of 2 units and you have to pay $25 to get it serviced as well as shipping charges; which is not cheap.
How bothersome is it to have to re-pair your phone every time you want to use it via Bluetooth? Just curious - looks like a great value over the Ion's but the re-pairing seems tedious. Any way around it?
tis a bit tedious, i'm not sure if the ion suffers the same issue, but you just have to actually hit the pair button on the speaker for like 2 seconds, the phone will automatically get paired, at least on my iphone, in other words as long as i'm in the vicinity, i just hit the pair button and it eventually starts playing, really not bad at all
THANK YOU for verifying the battery life on this thing - I was looking everywhere for it to see how it compared to that ION Tailgater speaker which I've been impressed with.
thanks for a great reviews of this product! Of course you tube doesn't do justice for the sound. so, does it distort at higher volume levels? like when you have rich deep bass tracks...I'm looking to purchase one for my Spin class because it appears the gym I work at will never fix the POS system they have. I have used there Block rocker IPA76C and it does a solid job but it rattles slightly at higher bass settings but overall it has a very good sound.
How does it compare to the monster rocking roller 4 which I bought at 99$ on sale? My son wants a rr4 but they are 179 now at sams no longer on special...
when you do your reviews (which are great btw) it would be helpful if you put the name of the product you are reviewing in the summary. It would also be nice to have your amazon link go straight to the product. Just a couple ideas. I had to go back through the beginning to remember the name of the speaker.
Around the same time as this video was uploaded, Ion Road warrior came out. It will eat this for breakfast. Plus it has a built in battery. I have one and I was blown away.

Over a year and a half later...is it still functioning? Battery life still in tact? How much battery life does it actually give you?
absolutely still rocking. battery life still solid since i used it last, (i honestly don't use it as much recently around my house), id say its still around 20 hours. the only thing about it is you do gotta keep it fairly conditioined (plugged in, not sitting in the closet with a dead battery) that will pretty much kill it. if i was to buy again though i'd get the block rocker, just for the powered usb port and it looks a little nicer, all internals are pretty much the same. its a better device overall, but this is solid for 89 bucks
awesome review but please can it match the OutCast which is climate resistant and sound pretty good for outdoor selling about $1000......please lemme know asap coz i need to get either one for the holidays
its not loud enough for me at work I work in a very loud place we have a game day thats 50 watts and its okay but I just ordered a Blackweb BWA18AA014 on ebay since they stopped making them we used to have this same radio it was so loud i liked it in my environment you need to have something thats 100 watts or more otherwise you will never hear the thing
I got this speaker and i have a question. When it is charging the speaker has to be powered on? Also Will all the lights be green when charging?Like power and battery level?
i reckon you should do a review on the new corsair rapid fire keyboard, i reckon you did really well with any monitor or keyboard review, i really think it will help you get more subs like you deserve...always enjoy your videos!
Well once again let me add my two sent to this I have the Monster Rock 2 and 3 so the muscle Rock to may not have many features as SD card slots it is still for the price value an overall performance both indoors and Outdoors and I mean Outdoors there's no other speaker that can stand up adverse conditions you may find being outside in also the monster Route 3 has many new improvements not to mention offering and microphone and as well as controls four instruments with a hundred hour battery runtime and while it's plugged in to an AC outlet you can run other devices
+ayemy hmm, well i would bet the diamond boxx sounds a lot better in terms of quality, its also 7-8x the cost and not nearly as flexible (the monoprice has mic inputs, waay waay longer battery life, and you can wheel it around like a suitcase!)
after looking at your video this is what I've been looking for and the price is great thanks I'm glad didn't get some other over price speaker and then seen your video man I'm so glad I waited now I can detail car's and don't have to drain the battery in my eclipse for great sounding music. you should be a sales rep for this company you do a excellent job.
+Hamo_Cyde that sir is a great question. i only found out about that box after purchasing this. but seeing as the side panel is identical my guess is they use the same internals. however i do give the block rocker a slight edge in looks as well as functionality as it has the LED layout, better dials, and you can charge usb devices, it also has longer battery life. (but is more expensive)
+techfreshness thanks but I just got a monoprice earphone set I recommend to every one its base is too good everything is awesome sound quality was better than Sony ,just made side to side comparison with Sony and skull candy in my case 1. skull candy 2. monoprice 3. Sony It's because all these were at same price Sony can make better sounds on expensive models and skull candy can rock on higher models
hhhh the Rockster wipes the floor with the exos 9 ! Look already the size! The Go+Play from H+K is much better as the exos9 not so loud but even better bass mids treable. And yes i heard it its only a "BoooooM" Box without any well defined Sound. U listen to the Go? :D
I use 2 Audiobahn ACS-15ABFM which have BT, but use a APT-X receiver and feed the line-ins for better sound quality. Portable if you have a strong back. LOL $300 including the receiver.
hey tic tac, whats goin on.......hmm, i think the jbl sounds a little 'better' but this guy is louder. the extreme is more portable too thanks to its size, my issue with the xtreme though is that the woofers on each side are just exposted, and i feel like i would need to be careful with it, especially at some place like the beach, but i can only speak from my brief experience with it in store. it does seem like a great speaker tho
Loved that demo, great job. Would be even better if I was familiar with the Jambox, but great comparison, TY! $99 including microphone!! Great unique gift for any kid!
+techfreshness I have the speaker and it is great I have been able to get more than 4.5 hours. The time obviously depends on how much bass the music has
+E VS definitely true, and i don't doubt u. i was just reading what it was rated at. i'm sure its a great speaker if you like it, but i do think they are on different levels as this includes an 8 inch driver.
Thanks for the Review , I've Ordered from Monoprice and for the Most Part they Have Quality Stuff .. I was Extremely Satisfied with there Earbuds , I paid 10$ for Them and The Sound Quality is Far Superior than Hyped up Names like "Beats" that run around 100$ for Earbuds ...
DJ Martin for these things you want high efficiency amps and at least 91db/w 1m + speakers so you can increase the battery life. An added benefit of a 92db/w 1m speaker is that it makes as much sound as a cheaper 89db/w 1m with half the watts. Now 200 watts with highly efficient speakers is more like it but you would need at least 300 to start getting a big enough sub to really start banging for a room of people
ah, my bad then. but then i wonder why this lasts FAR longer than any other bluetooth speaker i've heard of? maybe lead acid is better for pushing out more watts to drive the larger woofer in this one?
Thanks for this video. One important thing though. You said that the jambox is the best bluetooth speaker besides the JBL Extreme. First of all you can not say that cause its a matter of personal taste and opinion. For instance i (and with me a lot of others!) find the Harman Kardon Go Play mini sounds way better than both the jambox and the JBL Extreme. The mid and high tones aswell as the bass on the Harman Kardon is really better. I would say : " go look it up on youtube and find out for yourself!" Greetings
I grew up never hearing of such a thing as "surround sound", It was that bad-to-the-bone stereo. And along with 2 or more speakers sinc / balanced, stereo allows certain instruments on one speaker and the others on another.. well man, there's nothing like. It reminds me of the Bose where,..I don't care where you stand.. it's exactly the same no matter if you get right in it's face... same loudness. I hate it. Give me stereo sound. So, is that what you have is a really booming "surround sound"... speaker? It can't be "stereo"... can it?
You know what I'm hearing your Bluetooth speaker kind of reminds me of the old recording popcorn if you correctly remember that when you were young maybe you don't maybe you do but anyhow thank you very much for this information that's quite all right I like it thank you very much sincerely TCB Sun Elvis Presley and I am Elvis
Okay when you said Jawbone Jambox XL is the best...I have to put my foot down. It clearly not the best anymore within just a year Aiwa Exos 9 was born and it became the legend as it blew the competition for any Bluetooth speaker. For $300 look at Bose Soundlink 3 & JBL Xtreme. Got an image? Now look at Exos-9 and it's only for $300!!!!!!! I got to personally talk to one of the employees and he mentioned the speaker was originally suppose to go for around 5-600. But decided not to as they wanted to turn heads. There a RU-vid video showing that the speaker can be heard from over 2000 feet OVER 2000 FEET!!! To this very moment it still the best sounding speaker your hard earn dollars can buy.
+Bass Junkie fair points junkie, the larger jambox is still the pound for pound champ imo for a couple reasons. you can get it for 170 bucks and its a lot more portable than the xtreme. the xtreme is a great speaker no doubt, but once you get up to that big a size portability is not a primary concern, and at that point there is no comparison to this monoprice
+techfreshness the monoprice speaker just some knock off of ion block rocker. Even Monster copied ion. It like when MP3 looked like iPods and had similar 30 pin dock. That's why only the best creation from companies are their own. JBL & Harman/Kardon *same company* have two different designs on their speakers. Also a lead acid battery. If someone forgets to recharge the battery you just spent $25 getting another one depending on the battery size.
