sorry to disappoint but it's not a pun lmao. speisekartoffel is just the term stores usually use for potaoes. guess it's the correct way to say it (means edible potatoes..dunno if there are potatoes that aren't edible lol) but in general people just say kartoffel when speaking. also if you don't mind a small correction...''meine tasche'' isn't wrong per se, but tasche is bag/purse and you would say ''koffer'' for luggage/suitcase. xx
Jorun Jess oh. really? that's interesting. never heard anyone call their koffer a tasche. maybe it's a regional thing xD (obviously i didn't wanna sound like a know-it-all or something i just thought evan would appreciate a native speaker pointing out little things like that since that'll help him get better..i know i like that with languages i'm learning)
In "Lola Rennt" (Run, Lola, Run), they said "die Tasche" to refer to a small suitcase. One should learn the formal and then adjust to the informal, I suppose.
John Bartholf yea lol idk. im a native speaker and i never said tasche nor have i ever heard anyone use tasche for suitcase. unless it's one of those soft luggage things. like weekender bag. i mean i didn't mean to start discourse lol. i just thought it'd be helpful for evan to sound more natural. but i guess maybe other germans use tasche too
Have not been to a festival in years. If I was going to go to one. I'd go to this Oktoberfest. I love beer and the festival looks so FUN and friendly and GREAT. With so much to see and do.

"Speisekartoffel" Just is a longer Version of "Kartoffel" which means Potato If I had to translate it I would say: edible Potato You can also put Speise in front of Eis for exampel to get Speiseeis which means something like edible Ice as opposed to Icecubes for example ;) Speise alone means something like dish or food and Speisekarte means Menu (Food+Map) German is very easy ;)

Maybe it's because I'm north-german, but every time I see Oktoberfest, Lederhosen and Bavarian culture being presented as german I cringe internally. Probably I'm too much of a fish- eating Bremer :D
I think your transitional shots in this were much better than before, although I would suggest turning the levels of the music down a tad as it can be a harsh switch.
+kingfrederik thanks! I’m usually much more cognizant of b roll audio but I let this one stay at standard volume cause I didn’t think it was so harsh a cut (I spent ages on audio editing for this one so I am sad to hear that) but I’ll make sure it’s better for the next one
Alright this has nothing to do with the video, but whatever. I just feel the need to talk about how nice mood's farmers market is, and how fun picking apples and peaches and whatever there is. And how FREAKING GOOD NEW JERSEY APPLE CIDER AND APPLE CIDER DONUTS ARE. Like, moods gives out apple cider donut samples every time I've been there and it's fantastic and just. Friendly suggestion to everyone in this comments that they need to try apple cider donuts. But like also everything in this video looks super fun!

literally the entire world: YAY! Oktoberfest! BEER! awesome. actual Bavarians: please don't. - no but seriously. I think no-one despises this as much as actual Bavarian residents. the beer is overpriced, not actually that good, and SO badly poured. If you want an authentic Festival experience go to a small town fest. Also visit Munich when it's not Oktoberfest. it's a absolutely stunning city. and get a local to explain the food to you (me for example lmao) it's complicated but you need someone to show you the treasures of Bavarian cuisine.
oktoberfest I think is just for the party/atmosphere. We have oktoberfest in Sweden, I think its germans who come here every year and set it up. Its the same, overpriced beer and low quality. But its a party where you party and have a good time.
I was a little surprised how beautiful the beer tents were. Not what I envisioned. I truly hate beer and I'm not a huge fan of sausage. Oktoberfest is probably not for me :)
