damnnn trev is such a pro at this - He'll understand what the caller meant; have a funny turn of phrase, empathise with a team's fan experience, then actually answer the question - all while jimmy and jake are staring blankly at stats on their laptop - or at best! - They'll maybe say something useful but then start trailling off... to leave trevor in a dead air hole. Happened like 5 times this episode But then! Dude just jumps in to save the chat - like a pro! Genuine talent as a broadcaster/speaker-generally.

Just been watching so long now i see the eccentricities of jimmy and jake (jimmy is the worst offender though. God love him)

18:05 this is why I’m really excited about Jackson Merrill. He has fantastic bat-to-ball skills and he just turned 21 so when he puts some weight on he’ll be going yard a lot more

Jung Hoo Lee leads off against righties and has been hitting third against lefties. I don't complain about lineup decisions, but I would like to see him lead off every game

JHL has looked great in CF. He has had a couple mistakes in his first couple games getting used to Oracle and the shadows (makes sense having played in a dome his entire professional life) but each game he looks more and more comfortable out there. I've really enjoyed watching our defense, esp. up the middle like Jimmy mentioned has been nails.

Giants fan checking in. JH Lee has been really good in center. First step is almost always perfect. He does lack the raw speed somewhat but he makes up for it with stellar routes to the ball. Scouting report did not like his arm at all. However, last week after making a few routine catches with runners on, he showed off his arm. Throw to 3rd and to the cutoff at 90+ MPH. Defense is definitely promising.

Jung Hoo Lee looks amazing in center, and the defense as a whole is really improved from last year. Webb, Ty Rogers, and Doval combined for 17 groundouts last night and it is very fun to watch with the infield we have going.

as a Giants fan, the biggest change has gotta be that we have an actual rotation this year. even now that snell’s down, we have four solid starters(webb, harrison, hicks, winn) with reinforcements on the way. last year we had webb and sometimes cobb. so many bullpen games, openers, kapler’s “featured guy” theory. it’s a huge change and very needed.

As a Giants fan having a more consistent line up is nice(and I guess in the kbo they don’t play everyday so they’re giving Lee a lot of rest but I would bet by the end of the season he’ll be starting most games regardless off pitcher)but I’m glad Jimmy sniffed out the real biggest difference imo, it’s the defense. My Logan Webb stock was high but has skyrocketed now. It feels like a return to the early 10s, good pitching+defense and enough hitting

It’s great the bottom of the order for the Padres are producing. What is crazy is that they have two 17-year olds down in the farm that could be coming to the Big Show a lot quicker then people think, considering how fast their progress have been so far. If they should rush anyone up though - it’s relievers because that Padres Bullpen is extremely leaky outside Suarez.

For the rangers, the offense is having problems but when iy clicks its the same. Same rotation as last yeat pretty much, tho waiting on upgrades to come The main change id say would be a massive bullpen upgrade with Robertson, Yates and Urena

The cardinals never seemed to really give Hicks the “full send” on starting. He was kept to only a few innings on starts sometimes and the experiment just didn’t last long. I think the difference is that the giants said from day one hicks you’re going to start and made a plan to do so

The caller on the Tigers is right, they have sunk their season before it even began in the past few years. I haven't checked the stats but it feels like their beginnings have been awful and their ends have been pretty good, if they're able to follow that trajectory but just start from a better point they'd be in a good spot in September. Also, Hinch needs to stop dicking around with platoons and make Carpenter an everyday hitter. Managers now feel like they have to use their whole roster everyday to feel like they did their job.

The Rays just found out their franchise player sleeps with middle school girls, have a legit top 5 MLB starting rotation on the IL. Missing J Lowe, B Lowe, Aranda. And our closer Fairbanks. And we are still .500 at 13-13. And we have a top farm system in baseball, we’ll be fine. But yeah it’s up and down right now with some low lows.

Giants fan. Been mentioned a little bit, but JHL and Slater aren’t platooning, Yaz and Slater are platooning. Slater and JHL are taking turns leading off though, so that would explain the confusion. And I’m sure it was just Jimmy misspeaking, but Nick Ahmed is batting 9th, not Amed Rosario.

red sox completely flip flopped from last year. horrible offense, tremendous starts. Okayish bullpen but horrible outfield defense. even when they get devers/oneill/casas back the offense will still be suspect. pivetta comes back and we wont have to do as many opener/bullpen games. overall red sox and fsg are exactly where they want to be .500 maybe 2 or 3 wins above it to justify themselves to the fans.

Jimmy could not be more off with his Rays take…as per usual. They have always prioritized pitching and defense above hitting. Team loses arguably the best pitcher in baseball, 2 allstars in the lineup, Acuna, RIley, and Olson off to subpar starts and they've already dominated a brutal schedule including series wins over the Dbacks, Phillies, Rangers, and Astros (caveat there, obviously, since they might suck(, but oooookay cool let's talk more about crappy teams...
