In Brazil, beyond Amazon, the second biggest biome is the "cerrado" which is a savana.

Little observation from a Brazilian here: the forest shown when Amazon is mentioned -- nit Amazon! That picture is from another forest, not a tropical one, in the Southern region of the country, totally opposite to the Amazon. It is in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Cheers!

Summarazing Brazil in this video: 5th biggest, rainforest, beach. That was a lot of information about EUA, China and Russia, but so few about Brazil. Brazil has 3 of the 10 biggest rivers in quantity of water in the world. The Amazon river is the everything biggest in the world when I talk about rivers. Brazil has the biggest city in the western world, São Paulo (bigger than NY, LA, Mexico City and etc) we can found cities largest than São Paulo Just in Asia. Brazil is the longest (not the biggest, the longest) country in the world, from north to south Brazil have more than 4.300 Kilometers. Is the only country in the world that passes for two tropics, the Equator and the Capricorn tropic. Brazil is one of the welthiest countries in the world (unfortunately not a superpower, but one day I hope it'll be).

10:00 It's because of the Mercator projection. The maps we are all used to looking at warp the landmasses the closer you get to the poles, so the countries closer to the equator look smaller by comparison.

The reason the US is sometimes listed at #3 is that it internally uses a different formula for determining the area, which includes more of the territorial waters than most formulas...and ONLY uses it for itself. Brazil has a claim on the antarctic continent.

China is indeed larger than the US. There are only two sources that claim otherwise; the UN rankings and the CIA world factbook. Both of which are notoriously biased against all other nations but the US, because they include the territorial waters into the size of a country. The logic for this is erroneous for 2 reasons. 1) The US has 2 coastlines, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Pacific to the West, while China only has 1. 2) The 2 aforementioned sources do not even include the coastlines of other countries, only for the US.
