Story about Mushroomhead. I went to see them at an all ages small show in IL and they told everybody to start getting stoned . Everybody was smoking weed the fire alarm went off and cops came and they didn't have the man power to stop the show and arrest everybody so they through there hands up and left . The weed smoke was so thick you couldn't see the band lol. You got them leads about a black metal band? I'm evil in dark down with the devil. Lmao
The flying machine was a weird place. I’m pretty sure their was a trailer park right next to it and it WAS in the middle of nowhere. Saw Satyricon, Immortal and Angelcorpse there. Several other shows too. I also knew Mitch pretty well. He could be harsh at times but he did give local bands a chance to open for known acts. The bad thing for bands was that he made you sell tickets to play. He also did The World Series of Metal shows. Once he opened the Flying Machine he moved most of his shows there. I started skipping shows here and there because of the drive and the late hours like J mentioned. Anyway… I could write all day about thing in the NEO scene.
Been trying to keep up with the videos. The interview with King Fowley ruled. Seems like one hell of a guy. That's crazy that there was a club out in the middle of nowhere. Wish we had places like that around here.

I was buying Testament's First strike still deadly back in like 2001 and saw this album that said Mushroomhead on it, and thought "tf is this?" put it back and forgot about it. Fast forward 22 years and I see this video. Didn't hear about them any time in between 🤣 well maybe once in some random site.

Man so many flash backs to shows In 07 Testament took over an hour to come on. And Skolnik busted out an e violin Saw Graf orlock and weekend nachos in La The place sucked. You could smoke cigs inside and it was hot and nasty. The outside area was like the space between the doors and the gate that protects the building from break ins Fuckin sucked. I went to a skate park to see Trash talk and the singer told ppl to rush inside and jump the fence Long story short he caused a mini Riot Lapd came and pepper sprayed the fools I wanted nothing to do with that shit, my dumb ass friends did.

@@dinkins335 I'm not a good singer in the style of Blitz. But when we used to get asked to play lame ass Battle Of The Bands type shows. Which was a guaranteed $75. The other 3 bands were almost always 80's style cover bands. I would try my best PBR fueled Blitz impression and we would play Sonic Reducer towards the end of our set.

I know that someone is making a documentary about a venue in the states that was in the middle of nowhere that use to host metal shows and I’m wondering if it’s that venue you brought up???
