Classic rock is awesome. Uriah Heep, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Genesis, Rainbow, Styx, Queen, Kansas, Deep Purple...you don't like that, take a hike, BRAH BRAH
On the 80's glam thing, the early incarnations of those bands were heavy and rooted in metal.( Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, WASP, Quiet Riot, even Ratt were heavy early on.) As that LA scene blew up a lot of those bands went soft, made more accessible records and centered more songs around ballads. That made the remaining metal bands want to get heavier and fans like myself were begging for something heavier, faster, more Satanic and more irritating to my parents than ever. There is a big difference between being a fan of Shout At The Devil vs Slippery When Wet.
Through what mechanism do they cause cancer? You realize there is ZERO evidence to show that right? There is the Petri dish super high dose put directly on the brain study that is completely bullshit cause extremely high dose anything including water yes water is than toxic
@@justinhorval8491 Dawg ever hear of the YT channel "Swolenormous" hosted by Papa Swolio??? I think you might get a kick out of his content. Not only is he jacked (so his Bro-cred is legit) he (like you) posts a video everyday. He embraces the grind. His specialty is making videos where he takes aim at shooting down the most insane arguments of delusional self-loathing dumpies, the kind who love to vent their frustrations on Tik-Tok. The on-line fat community hate Papa Swolie with a passion. You're bound to get some laughs out of this character.
When Metallica sold out with 'Metallica' I wasn't surprised. Metallica drove me deeper into death and black metal. I remember besides Metallica in 1991 I heard Dismember - Like An Everflowing Stream, Immolation - Dawn of Possession, Morbid Angel - Blessed are the Sick, Bathory - Twilight of the Gods, and many other bands released albums in 1991.
I smashed the black album the day it came out into pieces, me and a buddy put it in the tape deck looked at each other after a few songs, went outside and smashed it. By the time it came out, I had already been getting heavier and heavier into the the more extreme, the darker and blacker stuff.
necroticism! into the grave! where no life dwells! Clandestine! effigy of the forgotten! Imperator - The Time Before Time! Malevolent Creation - The Ten Commandments, Massacre - From beyond, martire 12"! Sorcery - Bloodchilling Tales, Sororicide - The Entity, indeed lots of good death metal in 1991 . darkthrone's death metal album too.
I'm a 48 year old Devil who remembers when Twisted Sister first appeared on MTV and it was cool! After Kiss fizzled out in 1980, Motley Crew picked up where they left off and then T.S., WASP etc. All we had was MTV, Radio, Record Stores and Concerts. No internet. So yes it was all new and experimental. Headbangers Ball was another place where I discovered cool bands! 1989 was the premo time in my opinion. Love the channel!
I'm kinda in the same boat as the other guy, I didn't watch from the start but I've been going a few months now and enjoying the fun along the way. Glad to hear it's only just starting!
Twisted sister started around 73-74 I believe. There’s a great documentary called we are twisted fucking sister which goes into really good details of being a 7 night a week club band into a mainstream band.
Shit, Dee Snider released a couple albums that are still kinda heavy. In comparison to his early work. Shit, even Corpsegrinder makes an appearance on a Dee Snider album
4:38 there’s people who really would say that. I’m sorry but as much as I love Gorguts, the first 4 Metallica albums are some of my favorite pieces of music ever.
I like the first 4 Metallica albums. I don't like them as much as the first two Gorguts albums however. I'd pick the first two Gorguts easily. I rarely listen to the first 4 Metallica's and don't own any of them as of right now as I prefer other Thrash Metal bands such as Tankard, Vio-Lence, Forbidden, Toxik, Nuclear Assault, Kreator, Destruction, etc.
Worked at Bogarts in the late 90's, loved the interview with George, nicest guy's. I really think you can get Glen, shit I have ordered anything new from Deicide from HH. Thanks for all the extras in the packages .
Question for Justin: Does print size on a metal shirt at all factor as to whether you want to buy it or not? Also why are the prints on some of the shirts from HHR small? Does it have anything to do with the files you get sent for the artwork? I prefer when the print on the shirts are big and visible like for the Immolation Close to a World Below shirt that I bought recently. When I bought the Bestial Warlust Vengeance War Til Death shirt I was a little disappointed because I thought the artwork would be bigger on the shirt but it was kinda small.
I have always wonder why Hells Headbangers layout on albums looks "thin" too ? I mean, look at the fonts etc. Doesnt look bad, but somekind of weird layout modeling.
J Dawg??? Bomber comes after Overkill, so you don’t like Overkill?? The title track, stay clean, I’ll be your sister?!? Bangers! Best album after Ace of Spades
Stay Hungry is pretty cool, sits fine with Quiet Riot and WASP as the mainstream sorta metal of the 80s. Don't think I'll ever go out of my way to listen however.
Twisted Sister definitely not heavy metal greatness. They are a rock and roll band in drag. They are overrated, but good and one of the first bands I got into as a child, they served as a stepping stone, but great... hell no.
Early Twisted Sister is Heavy Metal greatness, and they were awesome live (saw 'em in '83). The Dawg is totally right, it's a generational thing. At the time it was all new and cool AF!! And let us not forget Saxon, who were one of the pioneers of the NWOBHM.
No, it is not generational thing. Some people are into real metal and some people are not. Otherwise your are 100% right. PS. Saxon forever. There's huge influence of Saxon on early metal, from Hellhammer to Mötley Crue. PPS. Saw Twisted Sister live in 1998 (Dee's S.M.F. actually), really brutal. TS's drummer did play also in Cities.
J-DAWG! Why is it that hells doesn’t do more colored CDs like you guys did with Nunslaughters newest album? The red CD looks sick! I’m assuming it costs more to press?
@@Poser_Metal_Records Paxton sure had his roles didn't he, I think his used car salesman/secret agent wanna-be character from True Lies was his best moment.
J Dawg is correct , having picked up You Can't Stop Rock and Roll the year it came out ( I was 16) , Twisted Sister were a heavy metal band. Not many heavy bands out at the time outside of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Slayer, Venom and Metallica definitely amped it up but all of them were something new , it was a great time to be alive and discovering bands.
I remember the first time I saw it on MTV right when it came out and loving it! Until Headbangers Ball there was no Metal Show. I was so happy when they finally did, because I discovered bands on there early on.
@@roberthampton730 We had a satellite and I discovered a Canadian channel called Much Music. They had a heavy metal show ( Pepsi Power Hour) and this was where I got my heavy metal videos fix. That show introduced me to Celtic Frost , Eudoxis , Hanover Fist , Razor and Killer Dwarves.
"Feel the flames, burn inside!" 44 years old. I came up snaking my older brother and sisters cassette tapes in the 80's. Love 80's hard rock and metal. I think people dont understand how different everything was before internet, there was only so many places to hear good stuff. I remember faking sick in 86 to stay home and watch MTV. I had just moved to a town that had cable, ( parents divorced, another 80's phenomenon). The Dio video's and Ozzy scared me! Those times were so good, I remember MAIDEN Somewhere in Time tour playing on the tv while we ate chicken at supper time. You could actually hear that on tv. Amazing.
The fact that he lives in people's heads rent free to the point they give his RU-vid channel views and engagement is impressive. If I don't like a RU-vid channel, I just ignore it.
I never got into those glam bands or TS cause of their "look." Motley Crue got a hallway pass cause they were getting trim for sure. I am a huge VH fan, but never liked how Dave dressed on stage with his ass hanging out. Thing I like about Snider is how he stood up for the 1st Amendment against the PMRC and US Government. That's metal to me.
This guy is an actual living, unearthed Piltdown man of legend... he only knows the world of old, they unearthed him along with the Beavis n Butthead VHS collection and a copy of Six Feet Under's haunted
@@distributorovkvlt-points5481 10pts awarded too you brah brah for defending the dawg, even though he's been beaten you up a bit lately 😅 . I wish he would answer more of my animal abuse questions. The one time he did he seemed genuinely upset by it \m/
Are you kidding me? White Line Fever, Iron Horse, Keep Us On The Road, Lost Johnny, The Watcher are classics. It's the closest Motorhead ever was to Lemmy's Hawkwind years. Great roadhouse hard rock/proto metal.
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal yeah!!! It’s pretty entertaining! Finally saw the el duce one too! There is a poison idea one I have seen the trailer for but can’t find it
Only posers do not like Twisted Sister. One of the most influental US-Metal band among The Rods, Anvil (Canada, but north america), Riot and Mötley Crue etc. Even Cianide did Twisted Sister cover song. Ruff Cutts EP and their early albums are the best.
Ayy lucifer watching the christians burn has some good tracks. Friend of mine showed me them back in high school. Thought about asking the dawg myself about em
I love how people like to say Led Zeppelin was the first heavy metal band. They were blues-oriented hard rock. There's nothing metal about them. Thinking about it now, I’m surprised that Metal Archives hasn't listed them like they do for Rush.😂
They were instrumental in the creation of the sound, there are some great early riffs in their music, but yeah by and large they were mostly a heavy blues, even folk rock band. I've heard worse, that the Beatles invented heavy metal.
@@g-man4744 yeah I always hate how people have to throw the god damn Beatles into everything involving music. Just because they might have a few songs they use more of a heavy distortion, more gain, or even sone feedback doesn’t make them heavy metal. I always get shit for not liking the Beatles but I honest can’t think one song I like by them.
@@pichael4642 I can’t stand the hype behind them. I get old people who were there during that time frame but everyone else….no excuse. They need to dig more with music
yeah i know paganizer, i haven't listened to them much in ten years though. was most familiar with the Dead Unburied album and a few scattered splits. that's an interesting comparison. both are punky grindy but total death metal. never considered it before. i see he's been even more prolific with Paganizer over the last ten years than he was when I was listening to it, the nunslaughter comparison might be even stronger with that aspect.

Imagine if Motley Crue or any big 80's glam band came out right now. They'd be torched for dressing like women by the same ppl who loved it at the time.
