I'm glad the Subway Club and Roast Beef are back. I wish they would go back to the meat and bread they had in the 90's, even the way they used to cut the bread. It all went downhill when they brought in the different flavours of bread. Back then it was white or wheat and both were better. Honestly, I go to Jimmy John's instead of Subway now anyway, it's better quality and cheaper.
Miss the breakfast because it was the only breakfast that didn't make me sick. I only eat breakfast when I can go straight home so I can spend all morning in the bathroom. Everyones breakfast is too greasy and can't eat grease in the morning
I live in South America, and Subways are rapidly starting to pop up here . I don't like it one bit, because we don't need giant American chain corporations spreading like wildfire In our country!

@@timetraveler2518 Capitalism also creates poverty, a huge wealth divide, oligarchs who rig the system in their favor, taxpayers having to subsidize corporations paying low wages to their workers, and an insatiable greed among the wealthy that puts their interests above society's. And let's not forget that capitalism collapses every ten years or so and requires the government to bail it out. So tired of smug, arrogant conservative militants telling anyone that doesn't agree with their warped, corrupt ideology to move. Time to admit that capitalism ain't much better than communism and it has a similar human cost.

Also Venezuela which you mentioned for no good reason also has Subway restaurants (among other American chain restaurants) , and those crappy little jobs didn't seem to save the country did they?
I haven't had a Subway sandwich for ages. I probably averaged 2 or 3 a week. Somewhere along the way I just stopped buying them. It's possible that Jersey Mike's replaced Subway for me but I don't eat as many as I did either as my habits have changed with regard to sandwiches. Former Philadelphian I can't eat cheesesteaks the way I did when I was young either.
I’m giving away my age here, but the thing I miss most about Subway was the “U” cut they used to do with the bread back in the day, it perfectly cradled the sandwich together and it was awesome!
Used to get their foot long breakfast sandwich fully loaded for 5 bucks at least once a week and then boom overnight the price jumped to 7 bucks. Walked out and never came back for breakfast.
I (unfortunately) work at subway, and you can still get a Flatizza. Just order a pizza sub on Flatbread Edit: We also still have Sriracha and probably half of the others on this list. The Roqst beef only gets 4 pieces now per footlong. 2 per 6inch. Which is crazy since the footlong is almost 7 dollars for just the sandwhich...
Me, too ... unlike the tuna, at least we knew the seafood and crab was fake ... and delicious! However, you can simulate it at home with fake crab, mayo and Old Bay seasoning (I worked at Subway in the mid 80s and that's how we made it back then).
Subway still sells pizza what are you talking about?? They’re actually really good to. Cheese pizza with black olives only maybe some vinegar and oil and double toasted till the cheese almost burns. BUSSIN
A Subway is only as good as it's staff. That being said it's rare to find a good one. Stale bread and over ripe/freezer burn veg is what I find on the regular. Subway now requires a 5 drink minimum. It's the only way it's satisfiying. Small towns seem to have the best ones.
So true. I worked at our local subway and the owner is obsessed with quality and if the veggies corporate sent weren't up to her quality I was sent on a run to the wholesale groceries and restaurant supply store for better quality ones and if bread was about to go bad we would cut it up for croutons for soups and salads but that was when franchises weren't stranglehold by a distant company head that was out of touch with the Midwest
Yes. Example: KFC, taco bell, mcdonald's, BK, and now Wendy's is on that downward slide. But a few buck the trend by keeping a watchful eye on things and allowing franchise owners a little leeway with the menu
Subway in Germany sucks! I was used to order my sub with 4-7 different Sauce in Canada. Untill 2020 I was possible to order my sub that way in Germany. But then suddenly Subway become greedy in Germany and one restaurant after another denied my order preferences. I had enough from this! I mean come on! As if they'll get financially big losses if they allow more then 2 Sauce in a Sandwich. In the future I won't go there anymore.
I can't believe they got rid of Italian dressing. What were they thinking? I've stopped ordering the cold cut combo because that's the only dressing worth putting on it. Now the only thing I order there is the Black Forest ham which I top with mustard. I really can't stand any of the other choices of dressings.
Subway was my 1st job in the mid-90s. They used to keep the Subway Club cards next to the register or in front of it for customers to take one or two for themselves. We had to "suggestive sell" them. Back then some stores didn't always have hole-punches - our manager was too cheap, so we just used a Sharpie to cross through the areas. Fraud was too easy.
Talked with manager of local subway and I expressed my love for the jalapeno cheddar bread and anger when it was discontinued and she told me it was a big hit and corporate decided to no longer allow the sale of such bread even though they still have all the ingredients to make it at the store (I used to work at that particular subway in my early 20s and know all the little secrets) but was told to follow corporate orders or there would be consequences. But when she started loosing customers over pulling the oven roast chicken and replacing it with the rotisserie chicken she deified orders and is keeping it on the menu till she can't order it from corporate anymore but since it's still available world wide it may be on the menu for a long time
Pretty sure Megan Rapinoe was one of the biggest recent flops. Having someone who has been very verbal about how much she hates our country as a spokesperson was not a good judgement call
I don’t care for her, but that’s not the reason why I hardly ever go to Subway anymore. Maybe if they still had 5 dollar foot longs. The prices went up, and for a little bit more I can get a much better sub at Jersey Mike’s or Firehouse Subs.
I liked the flatbread pizza reminded me of my summers at my grandparents house eating Elios pizza from the microwave cause my mom wouldn't buy them for me at home.. a little guilty pleasure.
Unfortunately, in area where I live, Subway has been selling its franchise to some franchisees who are not known for the best hygiene so I have stopped going there many years ago. I wish Subway was little bit more strict on to who they sell their franchise to.
I actually thought it would have been their customer service having one employee work the register make the sandwich get the ingredients together and be the manager at the same damn time. They're damn sure bound to fail with this strategy
Generally it is too complicated to create the sandwich with the toppings. Especially when you are in another country it can be slow and lead to misunderstandings. Haven't been to Subway for many years, even generally I liked the sandwiches. But I will first return again when they use ordering machines (as for example iat McDonald's). May be they do already?
Only thing I ever order from Subway - which I rarely go to - is turkey with bacon and provolone - toasted - light lettuce tomato with salt and pepper and oil and vinegar . Its the only thing I trust . They were much better back in the day
I used to eat there when I was younger. Subway's quality and standards dropped so quickly that I stopped eating there. Yuk! My local subway sandwich shop is soo much better and the ingredients are truly fresh and make Subway's sandwiches taste like garbage.
Jared was a spokesman for Subway many years ago. He used Subway sandwiches as his go to diet to lose a considerable amount of weight. At some point in time his name began to be associated with child sex for which he was found guilty and jailed. This was obviously in the news he was dropped as a spokesman very quickly.
If you're a sub shop, just be a sub shop and concentrate on what you do best, and stop trying to cover what is already covered. Look what happens when chains overstep their market space, looking at you Burger King with that dogs breakfast of a taco.
Cannot stand Subway. The ham and turkey did not taste like ham and turkey. Then very little meat in sandwich. I rather go to a local Full of Bull shop. Their you get more meat than lettuce
Used to eat there a lot until they decided to use kneeling anti American spokes people. Now I hope they dry up and just go away and in the area I live that seems to be exactly what's happening
