I can't be the only one who remembers galaxy patterned leggings back in 2012 or something

Where were checker Vans, motor Jeans, wind breakers, patagonia shirts, the whole vsco girl style, pastel color on shirts and hoodies, and the 70s/90s come back

Decade defining pieces for the 2010s would obviously be highwaisted skinny jeans, off shouldered blouses, skater skirts and dresses, boatshoes, herschel and vans bags, ofcourse hipster style defined the early half before athleisure/70s/90s influenced the latter half

2019 wasn't represented well It was pretty much oversized hoodies,jeans and e-girl/vsco girl styles for females

2020 it's time to go full spandex with techwear & cyberpunk outfits. No excuse.

No tea, no shade but why are the models posing like that.

Imagine people in 10 or 20 years watching this and thinking these were the defining styles of the past decade.

Some of these are accurate. but the majority aren't. let's be real, we all love our athletic clothes, even though we can't run half a mile.

People in the comments really need to learn what the word “trend” means. Trends come from influencers and celebrities and dissolve into more affordable styles for the masses. Trends are made to last only a few years at most. So no, jeANs anD a hoODiE are not a trend in 2019 because they’ve been popular throughout the decade, and they don’t stand out enough to be a notable trend. Also in the 2010s, every single year had literally dozens of trends. Just because you didn’t resonate with the ones they showed doesn’t mean they weren’t popular.

Ugh seeing the 2016 one hurt so bad... the velvet, the bomber jackets, the chokers😔 reminds me of when forever 21 was in its prime and all I wanted was a millennial pink crushed velvet shirt and three million chokers. Devastating times.

To be honest, there hasnt been a real change in the way people dress since the 90s. Everything is being recycled.

I almost forgot about those McQueen skull scarves! They were literally everywhere in 2010/11; one of the last trendy pieces from the fading mid-2000s emo trend

I'm in my 30s and have followed trends for years and can tell you that some of these are inaccurate. I don't remember crop tops being at all popular at all in 2011. The colorful jeans were generally low to mid rise and would often be worn with a tunic or a full shirt and a cardigan or hooded sweater. I don't remember seeing anyone wearing head to toe leather day to day in 2012. I can imagine that this was a runway thing and popular with celebrities but not with everyday people. Cropped faux leather bomber jackets were however quite popular and this was a trend that continued from about 2010. They were often worn with a longer sweater or tunic underneath. The ladies outfit from 2014 looks like an outfit from 2020. I don't remember me or anyone else around me wearing a matching two piece, in fact that was something that started to become quite popular very recently. I see the model is also wearing a crop top. Crop tops were only just starting to emerge into mainstream fashion after a really long hiatus. Women often would wear them over a longer shirt, something you don't see today. High waisted jeans also took off and the high waisted jeans with crop tops look that is so popular still in 2020 actually began to take off in 2014. It seems to me like a zoomer probably came up with these. I'm sure they had good intentions and did some research but it would have been better to have someone older who knows what people would have been wearing at that time.

The 2012 look, you can still rock today with slight modifications. I would get ride of those necklaces and replace those boots with black thigh-highs.

Would have loved to see more of the guys from the 2010s. Watching it go from snapback hats, skinny jeans, high tops, colorful tee shirts and evolving to streetwear would have been interesting.
