The problem with Atlus games is that you simply have to assume that whenever they release a new game, they'll just publish the real definitive edition in a couple of years.

I say this as an American, but, I just love how “foreign” games like this seem. The alien-ness of games like this are such a draw to me. It just immediately grabs my attention, piques my curiosity, and makes me want to experience more about it. I hope Japan always releases their games worldwide. I just love it!

That's probably just me talking, but the Persona like transformations in this game give me some serious Escaflowne and Dunbine vibes in a way.

After playing Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload this year I absolutely can't wait for this title. Visons of mana was at the top of my list this year but then I saw the trailer of Metaphor. Visons is my second most anticipated game since then.

The menus are great, yes, but I think that is a byproduct of the incredible stylishness of the Shin Megami Tensei games. Those artists pour themselves into every aspect of their games.

I just came across this video on my ( almost ) hourly checking of social media for any Metaphor content... ( I'm... a bit obsessed, to say the least ) and at first i was just listening to it in the bg, not paying too much attention, but then you started talking about the feelings of needing to creatively engage with it and the fanart you made and... i got emotional, haha. You're like me !! This whole video is so heartfelt. The genuine excitement you have for this game is a lot like my own, and it makes me incredibly touched because, being basically the only hype-up person for this game in all my social circles, i often think I'm too much, I'm annoying, I'm a bit alone in this. But I'm not ! There are folks like me and you, who believe this game stands for something great, and should achieve recognition for it. I want this game to do so so so well. I know that Metaphor will be one of those incredibly meaningful experiences that will change my life. It's so creatively stimulating, from the music to the art to the worldbuilding to the themes... everything about it is touching my heart. And it's not even out yet ! I do get scared it'll fall under the radar and be abandoned by the higher-ups at SEGA, so even though I'm not usually proactive about this stuff, I take it upon myself to be the annoying shill and overenthusiastic rambler to my friends and communities. Been following Metaphor since its original Project ReFantasy announcement like 6 years ago now. Completely agree more people need to be talking about this game. It's looking incredible, and as a new IP-- it bothers me more people aren't talking about it, when it feels like people complain about NOT getting new IPs with super unique ideas and styles and then we get this. Support this game, people. It looks insanely good, not to mention the UI, which feels so original and unique.

I love atlus games. I will be getting this game day 1. This game and the dragon quest 3 remake are the biggest games on my radar at the end of the year. The zelda and mario and luigi games are looking good too.

Afaik, people are super excited for it. The booth was non-stop packed at AX. Had to lie to get the freebies, because I wasn't about to waste my entire day getting free merchandise.

I’ve been hyped for this the first time they showed it. I was suprised you weren’t into this sooner as it’s such a Jonny game. Anime, space fantasy epic with menus to die for.

I feel the same, when I first heard about a Persona Fantasy game with a trailer I thought it was cool but I kind of deliberately forgot about it and just now before release I watched the 20+ minute long gameplay with devs and OMG the way you travel for days and it's like the weekends in Persona where you just hang out with the team and read and do stuff, but also how much work they put in to make travel feel real, I love that, kinda gives me Frieren vibes to spend quality filler time with the team on a long journey, also travelling like that in a walking ship gives serious Ghibli vibes too. And yeah the absolute coolness of the art in this :D I hope it'll be a good 100+ hour long journey.

I would love to be hyped, but in few years you’ll be able to play the definitive version with much more content, Atlus has trained me not to buy any of their games first time around

Well it’s another replacable turnbased JRPG. Maybe there is no hype for it because 1st. There is no Advertising at all. 2nd it’s just another one of hundreds JRPGs

The hybrid action/turn based combat should be the new standard. Trails through daybreak pulled it off and it’s my new favorite

Funny how you mentioned that you brushed it off initially and then something clicked, it was the same way for me. When I saw the initial trailer last year I thought it looked cool but wasn't particularly interested. And then this Summer when they did the gameplay showcase, I had a moment where I was watching and all of a sudden I realized "oh shit, we may be in for a masterpiece" and since then this game is all I think about. Had to jump into SMT V Vengeance just to quell the cravings lol.

I've had "Metaphor Refantazio!" on pre-order for approx 4 mos. now & I'm eagerly awaiting it's release. 👍

I'm interested and it looks good, but I have three problems... 1 - Too many other games to play 2 - Atlus games usually go on sale close to release. 3 - Atlus keep releasing definitive editions of their games within a few years and I always end up feeling burnt by buying the original. All that said, ill probably wait for reciews and pick it up if the price is right. It would be cool to get into a series from the very start.

Meguro's music always has impressed me. Ever since SMT Nocturne. Look up the music for "Last Area" map. That theme sent me once I finally got there.

This feels like Hashino's, Soejima's and Meguro's magnum opus. They've been delivering bangers for the past 2 decades and I'm sure they're also gonna deliver with this one.
