this was the biggest geoguessr tournament ever. a $2,000 prize pool funded by diamondlobby.com : ) settings: 4V4 ADW NM edited by: rawcruz (linktr.ee/rawcruz)
Nice work during the tournament. As a Chicagoan in exile in SoCal, I really admire your skills in recognizing the various parts of the USA. My approach is usually to just guess Ohio when things look like the midwest. That's my beginner hedge. Ok, back to surfing Google Street View....

@@Araknid42 comms thing would be cool but it's just not viable since most pros tend to be private, but yeah the captain thing could def be a good addition
In Finland we have two official languages : Finnish and Swedish. But only the bilingual areas have street signs with both languages 1:27:00. Most of these places are around Vaasa.
This is how just a youtuber can give life again to one game i've been playing GeoGuessr for more than 7 years and never this game had so much popularity.
since canada is the same continent as usa, and canada has similar road lines to usa, its hard to tell apart quickly on geoguesser im canadian, ive never been to the usa, but ive done some research. -Canada uses British English ('colour', 'centre', 'favourite', 'catalogue', etc.) -Speed signs in Canada say "MAXIMUM" instead of "SPEED LIMIT" -Road signs in canada are less 'wordy' and use mostly just icons instead of text (theres a wikipedia page comparing all usa-inspired road signs so you can tell the difference. even ones that look the same in usa in canada, still have differences) -Canada uses the Metric system -Bilingualism (not just quebec or ontario. most of canada has it. although not common on roads, its very common on all packaging sold in canada. maybe some signs or ads have it bilingual) -Pedestrian signs are a white rectangle with black borders, and either a zebra crossing or a straight line with a person walking on it -Canadians are less patriotic than americans, so there are noticably less flags in public. -Canada's domain is .ca -Depending on the location, stop signs say "STOP ARRÊT" -if you think "i feel like this is usa but something is off" its probably canada -the font on road signs (such as speed) is lighter than the ones in the usa (although that isnt consistant) -real estate ads with stupidly high prices (lol) -bike lane signs are not consistant, but the designs ive noticed are: blue background white circle with blue bike, green circle with bike in the middle) -times on road signs are in 24hr time there is a lot more, but im too tired to list them all. i love your content!
"Canadians are less patriotic than americans" couldn't be further from the truth, we just don't rub it in everyone's faces like Americans lol, I mean unless you are from Alberta 💀
@@dankmatter3068 or a native women murdered by a drunk mounty who has as much likelihood of paying for his crime as the cops who murder black people in the USA
- wooden poles are more common in canada - "ARRET" sign means Quebec and "STOP ARRET" sign means New Brunswick - certain region-specific bollards (alberta is good to know and fairly distinctive) and sign markings - bizarre regions pockmarked with tiny lakes is also a fairly good indication of Canada (not sure if this is a real meta but I've found it helps when differentiating the two) - license plates and province/state flags (U.S. too!) are always good to know - checkerboarded t-junction signs are exclusive to Canada, and if they're part of a large rectangular sign with two arrows pointing in either direction, it's usually Newfoundland - Ontario uses black-and-orange traffic cones - iirc yield signs in Canada have no text while U.S. ones say YIELD. not sure if this is 100% accurate - utility companies usually have the province in their name so memorizing their logos can potentially be helpful - definitely know areas with weird coverage (Tulita long antenna + gen3, or Sanikiluaq snowmobile driver with a heavy fur coat)
McDonald's literally has a maple leaf in its logo in Canada. 😂 Not to mention all the other companies like Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian Tire, Petro-Canada, Tim Horton's, etc.
here's the wikipedia page i was talking about, idk if this comment will go through since it has a link. reply if you see this :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_MUTCD-influenced_traffic_signs
Was an absolute pleasure to take part in one of your tournaments yet again! Thanks for giving me and my teammates the opportunity to compete with the best players in such a great tournament. Sorry about knocking you out with the Russia Plonk, but I had to do what I must 😅. Keep it up man, and continue to smash it! 👍
Yup! I'm a Polish guy living in the US and those comments crack me up every time. Still trying to figure out what makes them Polish. Maybe there's a joke in there somewhere...
love the shoutouts to geowizard from jwall, max and pivver. Are we going to see a collab anytime soon? As much as I love how much pro geoguessr has evolved, I still find his skills going purely off vibes to be impressive. I feel like he would be a good addition as a host for this, too. I think this format could use someone being a little less knowledgeable and asking the questions we all have in our heads when you go "yeah this is Darwin area in Aussie".
It’s crazy how I wait every week for these videos to come out and will watch it in one sitting rather then any movie that’s the same length or shorter love this content
Quality gameplay aside, I love how new inside jokes and metas are born with every tournament. Amazing job reunionbolt, you guys are making all this so enjoyable to watch.
For the first Sweden guess in the first round you can tell it's Gotland since it's a limestone island (same with Öland so the ocean hedge was a great guess). You can see a limestone wall on one side and the dirt/gravel parking lot on the other side is naturally really white.
I feel like he has the perfect face and voice for the world's most cracked super villain. Likely able to find supermans hideout just off the color of ice alone.
Rainbolt you should do a 3v3 tourney bracket with all the casters on a team! Would be really fun and cool to watch you guys work together with actual guesses
Woo the boys I cheered for won! An insane tournament with the semi-finals being so close, followed by what was the best finals ever between 2 teams of absolute God tier players able to find 5ks from both teams. I'd also like to make mention to the phenomenal casters and there ability to provide absolute top tier analytics!
Tip on POLAND from a professional Polish person... Look for the "ul." at the beginning of a street sign at an intersection. It's an abbreviation for the word "ulica" which means "street" in Polish. You see "ul. {some name here}" and you're in the land of the Poles. Now the "polish trees" I'm still trying to figure out myself. I don't recall anything special about our trees, but what do I know. I can't tell trees apart to save my life :) What I also recall from living in Poland are the giant nests the storks make at the top of power poles. This I think is prevalent across eastern Europe though as I saw them in Estonia as well when playing geoguessr. Definitely fun learning these little nuances of the world we live in.
There is a little fun fact here at 1:51:32 there is a leaked license plate, and the first two letters can show us where it is. BP for example is the license plate for Riau Islands.
1:00:26 jeepneys can be seen all over PH but most of them are in major cities. that type though (the OG look) is mainly in metro manila and baguio. they're present in other areas as well but those are the 2 places you can find them the most. iloilo jeeps have their own look while cebu, davao, etc. jeeps have a 'van look' (divided, flatter front).
