At least in Mk11 he kinda got a small redemption arc, he just wanted what was best for his people since they were starving & always a punching bag.

Baraka needs to have a bigger role, honestly the potential with the tarkatans being set free in the MK 11 Tower Cutscene for Baraka is immense in my opinion.

Netherrealm seems to have a real issue with randomly jobbing characters out. Especially some of their most iconic characters. It's honestly baffling.

Baraka is so badass, he doesn't only deserve an own chapter, he deserves his own game. Maybe kind of MK Mythologies: Baraka but with better gameplay.

I love how a few of Baraka's Ws are due to the fact that he isn't just a Tarkatan, but their rightful leader, and as such he is not only the strongest, but also the smartest. He led the successful attack to Liu Kang's Shaolin Temple in 2, in his 2 ending he becomes the new Kahn of Outworld, in his Trilogy ending he exploits Shao Kahn's weakened state to kill him and flee, in his Gold ending he does die, but it's due to him actually having some moral standards that Quan Chi Lacks, in his Deception ending he doesn't just rush Mileena head on, but he ambushes her exploiting her inferior sense of smell, and in his 9 ending, he uses his sense of smell again to thwart Shang Tsung's attempt at usurping the Throne, making the Tarkatan Shao Kahn's new elite race over the Shokan and the Centaurs.

After his portrayal as the leader of the Tarkatan tribe in MK11's story mode and face turn, I would say Kano is the biggest loser in NetherRealm's Timeline (even though I love my Aussie jackal)...

Yea the villains were way more intimidating during the 3D era. They actually had a presence during konquest mode where they either made life extremely difficult or straight up killed people/ entities on the good side.

I've said it once, and I'll continue to say it 'till the day I die: Netherrealm needs to make a game that either takes place from the villains' point of view, or include a split story mode when you can choose to play both the heroes' or villains' side. Because let's be real... MK's bad guys are WAY cooler than the good guys, and it's about time they got to shine.

Idk, Baraka made a small comeback in MK11, had the gang with him, moving like a general, he wasn't lacking. I think Reptile has top spot as loser, at least Baraka has his race.

It’s kinda funny how netherrealm has this track record of having cool characters and then immediately shitting the bed when it comes to anything to do with their actual stories. It almost feels like one guy designs the characters and then an intern comes in and writes a story on a napkin.

Baraka is by far one of my absolute FAVORITES and I extremely want them to give him a super important role in a future story mode

Some things that I'd love to see in MK12, are for all of the base roster kharacters to have their own chapter, also for there to be a chapter select, so that people can leave story mode if needed, and come back to it.

Baraka has always been one of my favorites since the early days of MK2-MKTrilogy. Pretty much all characters in MK Trilogy are close to my heart. I loved his gameplay during the beta in MK 11 which is why he’s one of my mains. Despite the criticism of MK11 it does redeem some characters like Liu Kang become a fucking God, Baraka and Sheeva being equal to Kitans as Kahnum. Sadly not everyone gets that sort of treatment, like Sindel. Half of the characters in the MK games are just wasted potential with little to no development character or character arc. Baraka, Rain, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Smoke, Reptile, Goro, Kintaro, Kabal, Jade, Sindel I can go on honestly. These characters and so many others deserve to be fleshed out in terms of story and character arcs.

I love how fgc content creators love fighting games. I'm coming over from the COD community so this enthusiasm for lore, previous iterations of the game, and hype for fan favorites is refreshing.

In the first MK movie, all of the masked goons on Shang Tsung's island are Baraka mutants but you never see their face (Source: Christopher Lambert GamePro Interview where he refers to them as "Barakas"). Their bladed gauntlets are actually the smaller shard blades coming out of their arms.

Boy oh boy 🤣 when me and my brother were younger, we made a joke about baraka. the joke was that after every tournament all the cast from the game would get together and have a barbecue. They would all bring different foods, but baraka would bring broccoli, and no one wanted to eat Baraka's broccoli everyone we’re just walked past and he’s just standing there looking around hoping someone will just take one. And then that random Tarkatan from Deception "Baraka is our leader!!!" would be a kiss ass and act like he wanted some but baraka wouldn’t let him 🤣🤣🤣 this just unlocked a core memory

Poor guy gets the short end of the Tarkatan skewer. SPOILERS FOR MK1. Luckily, he finally got a decent break in the newest game, even though he's suffering a ghoulish disease this time. He actually helps in an important way and his whole deal is that he's trying to help his people survive. And if you so choose, he finally gets to be the literal "chosen one" that puts Shang Tsung in his place. Yeah, he's one of the potentially final playable characters in story mode!

For Mortal Kombat 1 they should give me the option to who to play when a fight is about to start in story mode. Depending on who you pick throughout the story the ending will be different.

I think it was actually defenders of the realm where the nomads were all looking like baraka! They even added a character called Karbrak (I think?) to replace him LOL

The origins of the tarkatans had been retconned a couple of times, from being from the Netherrealm to being half-bred with Netherrealm demons and humans, then again in MKX where they were retconned to be one of the many races conquered by Shao Kahn, and came from another minour realm, similar to the Zaterrans, Vaeternians, and Osh-Tekks, but that proved useful enough as savage warriors for him to enslave them rather than kill them.

2 options for villains in story mode 1: give villains their own chapters because it is NOT realistic for the heros to win EVERY SINGLE TIME (option I prefer) 2: make 2 story modes. One for heros, one for villains. Now, this would take a lot of work. It also wouldn’t be realistic for the villians to win every single time. This is why I support the 1st option (sorry for misspelling villain alot lol)
