Hey guys, regarding Sins of a Solar Empire 2: The IGN review was posted back in May, when the game released on Epic in a frankly unfinished state. It just released on Steam now in August and is much better now. The PC Gamer review is of the recent Steam release - hence the higher score. Very weird situation, but IMO the game looks great now.

Not gunna lie, i'm a bit shocked you didn't mention the Blur show coming out in december. Not only is it exciting because it's more Blur content in general, but it's 15 unique episodes from various games that (as far as I can remember) haven't had the Blur treatment, or anything NEAR that quality, yet. @@log-in1051 no that is wrong. They turn into nuke if they are shot by a special weapon. In the first movie, the sardukar were using it and duncan idaho used it to his advantage and nuked the sardukar. The whole "no shield in desert" Just stems from the worm being able to detect it but people forget there's zones in the desert where worm don't reside.

@@bruhder5854 If you hit it with a laser it creates a nuclear explosion. Either way, the heavy use of shields and the running like a FPS are completely out of theme. Granted, a game in which you spend 5-10 hours crossing the desert arrhythmically and slowly would be boring. But I just don't think you can do a game that FEELS like Dune while making it play like a shooter.

@@bruhder5854 Yeah, that's what I meant. Shields will summon sandworms and drive them into a frenzy. But there are obviously shields used to protect Arrakeen and personal shields could be used inside the city. (Though that might be risky after the shield wall is breeched.)

@@Wraiven22I highly doubt BioWare was even involved in the creation of this stupid “collectors edition” thing, it’s 100% a publisher money grab (outside of providing assets when the publisher demanded them, ofc) By all means blame BioWare when it’s warranted, but this isn’t one of those times. We see this kind of thing more and more, publishers know the profit margins are extreme for this kind of thing, that’s why they do it. People with lots of disposable income may buy it. It’s not likely they will sell all that many of them, but it’s very hard to justify not doing it from a purely financial perspective :( and the studios often don’t have enough power in the relationship to refuse them (for the non financial reasons, like it cheapening the franchise and making them look like money ghouls)

They're still scared to show us raw gameplay for Indiana Jones. It was still just quick shots that cut away after a couple seconds. I guarantee the moment to moment gameplay is going to be janky and disappointing. I'm not sold until we see just a straight 5 minute segment of a level not a prolonged cutscene.

My wish right now is that Secret Level not only turns out good, but if they somehow make a second season were they get to make an agreement to let Nintendo’s IPs show up. An anthology series based on Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta (I know it’s Sega’s but Nintendo has some rights over it), etc. It has so much potential

Peter Molyneux invented a lot of the foundational concepts we see in survival/tactical/resource games. Valheim/Pax Dei/Roblox/etc, all these types of games owes a big part of their existence to him. No matter what anyone says, Peter Molyneux is one of the great western videogame designers like Will Wright/Sid Meier/Romero/Carmack/Gabe N.

I agree... but he should of retired. His legacy over the last decade clouds his true mark on gaming. Watching him chase quick venture capitalist money by presenting over hyped game ideas and predictably under delivering. Chasing ever buzz word he can find from mobile games, NFTs, Metavers and VR with continued failure to appease Silicon Valley youngsters who never played his magnum opus games. I looked at that demo and all I can see is the PC Port of a failed VR game that Meta and/or Apple refused to buy.

Honestly as a massive Xbox fan for the past ten years. I think I am finally kind of moving on from the brand. Xbox was built on Exclusives, it was built on the idea of hardware that was developer friendly, as well as being extremely performant, it was also built by fans of the industry. Now a days all three of those things I have mentioned are not the Xbox that exists today…

Amusingly, when the ScreentRant review of Wukong was rather explicitly feminist propaganda and the DEI "consultancy" mafia attempted to extort the developer out of millions of dollars last year, the only bad look is you being completely unaware of why they might not want any of that in the streams of their games from pre-release copies.
