Captain Obvious huh? o_o a zygote would be a sperm and an egg together (fertilized egg), which is sexual reproduction - from two organisms. The trees are cool because they are literally the same organism, like if you keep growing more humans from your body that are all connected.

+Paolo Los Santos I'm not sure if you're joking or not but, an orgasm is just in our mind, it still effects the body it's just not capable of being a measurable thing- Elmer's glue uses a formula so the glue comes out the same way. If you're talking about sperm then yes that would be possible but very expensive and they claim to only use synthetic materials.

Awesome video! From Wikipedia: In 2006 it was discovered in the Balearic Islands a Posidonia Oceanica plant about 8 km long, which was attributed to an age of 100,000 years. The plant is situated within a meadow which stretches some 700 km ² from the Es Freus (Formentera) to Ses Salines Beach (Ibiza). Identifying the plant was possible through the use of genetic markers.

Maybe on a gas giant like Jupiter, but in the Goldilocks Zone of another star where the temperature and chemistry are are just right for such a large creature, or world populated by such creatures, to exist. Let's just hope they can't detect us, in case they're already in the habit of launching spores, or what have they, at planets already, in an attempt to spread and and grow. Just imagine if such a species, composed of such creatures, has a billion year head start on us from the other side of this galaxy. Might have to step up our game.

@ThrottleKitty
@ThrottleKitty 8 лет назад
+Birdeaor It's actually quite possible, given how all of these trees are on "life support" and trees barely float on the barrier of life and death their entire life...
@3OHT.
@3OHT. 8 лет назад
+Throttle Kitty Trees cannot survive for 20,000 years, but it's genetically identical clones can. The original tree is _definitely_ long gone.
@ThrottleKitty
@ThrottleKitty 8 лет назад
г-н зонт I am not talking about this tree... lol Other single trees have been known to live over 5,000 years, and past a certain age they are nearly impossible to pinpoint the age, they could easily be 10~30 thousand years old. Any older is not likely possible, do to going back into the full blown ice age.
@3OHT.
@3OHT. 8 лет назад
Throttle Kitty Sorry, I misunderstood your last comment. Although, there have been no _living_ trees older than 10,000 years. The one's that are somewhere near that age are stunted, and preserved, on top of mountains. If they are not preserved, short, and/or stunted, they die a lot faster. One of the reasons bonsai live so long is because they are periodically cut at the roots & branches, and left short. All I was trying to say is that a tall tree would not be able to live for 20,000 years or more. Sorry for the miscommunication.
