I have this handle and yes, it is everything Armando said it is. If you have an FX3, this is a must have accessory from Kondor Blue.

Is the XLR top handle really The purpose of getting the FX3? It’s one good reason, but even without it I would opt for the FX3s more video oriented body instead of the A7SIII for video. That being said, the handle extension looks awesome

This is brilliant. I don't like my rig to be too vertical, I like a lower center of gravity (adding a vmount battery under the camera could help with that though), but tbh this is the best solution ive seen yet to keeping the fx3 handle on and being able to mount a monitor and have a longer handle. Maybe the engineers of this had small hands?

@@goncalocunha4821 well look on the bright side. neither of us will have to deal with the insane fomo when the fx3 v2 drops. I ended up getting an A7rv and A7cII for dumb reasons, but im also not shooting anything like a film.

I love this camera but if I think there are three bigger problems with the camera. 1. bad screen quality (you really can't predict shots well without a monitor.) And these next two are more frustrating because they can be fixed with an update 2. No auto WB for cine EI mode 3. No shutter angle

I've bounced from the GH5 to the Pocket 4k to the FX9 and now to the FX3 - and honestly the FX3 is my favorite out of them all. It's such a nice camera to use and is so easy to rig up or strip down the way I've built it out that it's just a joy to use. Zero regrets "downgrading" from the FX9 to this bad boy a few months back.

Small rig’s is better and there is a new part that allows to hook forward the monitor without loosing real state in the handle

The handle is usefull only for audio recording during interview sessions or shoot like that. It's not something to have always on !

When I want a leaner setup, I've started leaving my handle at home and switched to a Deity D4 mini mic (instead of the RODE NTG3 mic)

bro, remember. The Sony FX line of cameras is unlikely to want to remove the audio mixer on top of the camera. Even if it were possible he would definitely still provide a separate audio mixer with such risks. As far as I know, the FX line was made for camcorders, not cinema

These audio handles are one of the biggest turn offs for me. If I have to attach this I can also just use an external recorder with more added benefits.

Fx3-great camera but rigging it makes it bulkier so portability is lost. Great video by the way as always.

A fully rigged FX3 is still smaller and lighter than almost any camera available in the market today. I don’t think video really shows how tiny this camera is

I just got the Deity D4 Mini for everyday use. I also have a Rode NTG3 but that one requires the top handle so I'm saving that for filming things where I need more quality.

@@mondobytes gotcha. and for the record, i'm a big kondor blue fan so pls don't take my original post as rippin' on them. i just wish they made a plate like the smallrig 4064. that plate makes it easy for me to switch from handheld/locked-down to gimbal (via arca swiss). maybe you can get 'em to make it; you have WAY more pull than i do. :)

That fx3 top handle is terrible. Trying to make a cinema camera in a stills body. Ergonomics are terrible with this camera too. Better off getting a real cinema camera.

Lol it’s funny because it’s not even that tall. All my other cameras are much taller, I guess the aspect ratio is deceiving making it look like a giant 🤣
