Lillian, When I was your age, I hated Mud races. I learned how to ride in the muddy MidWest. Rarely do we ever see the Pro’s race in pure mud. When they do, some are terrible. It’s a learning experience.

Lillian Rickey Carmicheal had his worst race ever in the mud he fell down a million times what did he do he practiced he later had a race in the worst mud ever and he ended up lapping every other rider it's a great video. Hang in there Girl you'll do better.

Gotta practice those mud races, and a technical sand track. Loretta Lynn's gets rough. Great footage, showing the leader standing up. Standing up is a weird feeling at first but helps transfer balance if needed. Wish all three kids best luck for next year.

You should get a riding coach. My dad got us a riding coach during the off-season. Was the best thing he has ever done for our racing. 4 weekends with the riding coach cut out all the bad habits on the bike and improved our riding so much. It's not cheap but it's not ridiculous either. Heck, there might be some female pros who might do it for free. Put out an SOS on Social media asking for help. Anyway, keep having fun. It might be time to take her seat off during practice so she doesn't sit as much, lol.

Hey blog epicness, I have a couple suggestions for Lillian when it come to riding in muddy conditions, I always race in the mud in 250b, she needs to grip the bike with her knees more, if she did that the back end wouldn’t kick out as much, also in the mud she needs to be more dolly with the throttle you can’t just hammer it out of a corner you have to roll the throttle through it, if she did that she would’ve been going to the ranch I’d bet money on it

I help train and do the mechanic work on my daughter's friends bike her "competitor" 🤟😎 after all they're gonna grow up riding together

Absolutely, soft terrain, mud-type tires and brand new just for a mud race, will make all the difference. Plus, stand up as much as possible, letting the bike do its thing while the rider works the edges of the track.

Keep your head up.. Ha anyone can ride in clear dry conditions. All types of weather, and terrain, ride hard,, play harder.

She is one badass to finish the race and the determination to get the bike up was a win my opinion some riders would of gave up mad respect to her and her dad having to film and watch that without helping her get the bike up having her be DQ'd congrats on the finish race like that is what makes a great rider.

I’ve heard you qualify for multiple regions in case you have a crash of bike blows up. I know it’s a little late but info for next year. She will use this as a learning step. It’s hard to ride in the mud but they all need to do it because they will have at least one mud race at Loretta’s. Never fails, it will rain during that week of Loretta’s. Keep it up. Don’t get discouraged. She did great.

I know that is heartbreaking. I'm old, and raced amateur nationals before Loretta's, and tried to qualify for Loretta's twice in the 1980's in the 125A class in 82, and 250A in 85. The first one was 1) the day after my high school graduation and 2) about 5 hours from my home, and 3) it was pouring rain the whole day and a complete mudder. I fell in a rut and someone hit my bike and crushed my exhaust and I was done. The 2nd time in 85, the last moto, I almost got the holeshot, except for one guy that decided to cross jump into me and take me out, and trash my front wheel and brakes. Just like that, 2 opportunities gone. I was an alternate qualifier in 85, but was doing this part time while a full time student, and opted not to go as an alternate. Hindsight, I should have entered and tried to get in outright before traveling. Good luck next time!

She doesn’t need a sand tire she needs to stand up in Mudgee conditions that’s the best way to get through the mud

One time I went to an off-road park 2 days after it rained or so we thought with my dad. There was so much mud that both of our tires look like street bike tires but brown and I was falling over like crazy and couldn’t pick up my bike. My dad was also falling over and we were cleaning our bikes for like 2.5 hours after that. Note to self is don’t go after it rains.

It been a while since i have been to Lorettas but it was probably the second muddiest race i have rode in and its all being tight to the bike a lot of standing with some good throttle control and for traction just need to learn to ride any ruts you can find

I went to a rodeo last week, where they raced horses and rode bulls, and I was talking to one of the racers who was at a food truck. He was talking trash to me about how dirtbiking is unsophisticated and not as cool as horse raceing. I then said, "HEY LISTEN HERE KID! You're over here talkin' trash about raceing a horse, while I am raceing 39 horses on my Yamaha! AT LEAST OUR RACES DONT GET CANCELED BECAUSE OF THE RAIN!

I knew way back when you said Lillian was going to do qualifying in Washington, it was going to be an absolute mudfest. 😆 Let's face it Loretta's is almost always a muddy mess as well for at least a couple of days. I honestly don't think Lillian didn't do too bad. Now she can get plenty of mud practice in while you're up there. As always guys thanks for bringing us along with you. I live in South America and here the weather is really bad. I’ve ridden in muddy conditions ever since i’ve started. One thing i can tell you, riding 2 strokes in mud (mosty if you’re not used to it) is a pain.

Tires won’t help you technique will, I could tell you wasent squeezing the bike with her legs because when you were showing the bike after there were no rub marks.

Riders need to ride in the mud even if it’s just play riding it really helps to get to know your bike it helps with endurance etc Yeah I know it’s messy pain in the ass but it will help you become a better rider.

Pretty obvious Lil is track born. She's like a boxer who's never been in a real fight. You've been great at having them train in different aspects of riding, but she lacked the experience of just going out and screwing around in the mud.. some of the funnest riding there is. Take the kids out to to the woods, his some ohv trails, ride the dunes, etc. Rain, snow or shine. Get them the real life riding experience that will round out their skills.

Scoring is, lowest number wins. In your case 8-5 = 13, 7-7 = 14. If you tie like 1-2, then a 2-1 wins. Better second Moto score beats first Moto scores.

No hate to anyone but I think Lillian could use more practice in muddy conditions. You can tell who has rode in the mud a lot and who hasn’t

Damn, I'm gutted for Lillian, if that had been a dry sand track, she'd have been gone into the sun set, but it was mud and not just any mud, that was some 'OMFG you can't be serious' mud. I've read a few comments saying about needing practice in the mud but in Florida, if you want mud you have to make it yourself with a hose. Unless you live somewhere that has a high rainfall, finding a mud track to practice at is not so easy. About the only thing you can do is stick to the outside edge of the track in corners, the edges of the track get used less and provide better grip but really, on a small bore two stroke you really are up at the short end of the stick with mud and it's a real crap shoot as to who gets the grip and who doesn't.

She must feel cheated that the mud was unfair to her. Two laps as well is not fair for someone trying to make the national.

Better luck next time but she needs to stop with draging her foot in the mud i know she does this because she prob thinks this brings a save feeling and stability but it accataly does the compleet oppositie and makes it imposible to ride mud good and tel her to work on hitting jumps complete straight in de the mud you cant brake/turn even if you want to take inside line. This comes from an experient mud rider in the netherlands 😂😂 but keep up the great work

mate i feel like you have a bit too much pressure on your daughter. have you thought about how she feels. i race enduro on my bike, of course i am competitive and want to do my best but if i mess up my parents dont have any pressure on me at all because its my dream to do good.
