For what it's worth, I can attest to 90% of this being true from my own personal experience... (the other 10%, not saying it's untrue.. I just haven't worked with some people mentioned here, because I left the country) - happy to see Bharath speak up! Great job bro!!! This was the main reason I pivoted to Lifestyle Vlogging or else I would have gone bankrupt. They blacklisted me back in 2018 after a honest review which didnt go according to their plan. Im glad that the OG of Indian Tech space spoke about this, More power to you brother.

But I have in house manager so we don’t work exclusively with any agency. And yes I have been blacklisted by so many brands because they didn’t like my tonality or use of few words or sentences. I denied to change those & boom I’m gone from the list. No wonder why I don’t review smartphones 😅 Btw great initiative. When the processor is weak .The youtuber calls it "the processor choice is interesting " . I had noticed it a long time ago .I just watch reviews to check the specs of the devices . Well done exposing these criminals .

Bharat Nagpal is one of the oldest and respectable mobile/gadget reviewer in India...never been part of any dispute or unnecessary controversy of RU-vid tech space.

One common thing evident here is that you'll find the Lava Agni phone video on the channels TrakinTech, Gyaan Therapy, and Gaurav Choudhary with significantly more likes compared to their other videos.

I've been watching Nagpal's channel since its inception, and I believe in this guy. I never expected two of my favorite creators, Arun and Gyaan Therapy, to fall for this. Everyone needs to know. For people like us, earning 1.5 lakhs per month or more, it wouldn't matter. But for those earning around 20k and trying to purchase a phone in that price range, these people would be cheated in the end.

Thanks igyaan for shedding some light on this serious issue. Some of the biggest youtube channels get crazy engagement while independent and honest reviewers are only watched by true fans who value than person's opinions and insights. Its also a bit shocking that how scripted and ad like this process has become and still normal 'non techy' veiwers can fall for this easily as these paid influencers seem very genuine. I am a tech enthusiast following this industry for more than 13 years and man, i miss those early yt days of 2012,13. Sad that somehow this space has ended up in such a situation...😕

This should be investigated, I've been here following igyaan for almost a decade now I have never seen Bharat talking in hindi, spitting the facts this level of seriousness in video this is something that needs an action, request everyone here to share this video on your social media let's spread this to world, Bharat much respect to you hats off 🙌🙌

This is absolutely despicable and needs to be uprooted completely. This is not only misleading us but also destroying innovation in the industry. Brand value and all that other bs. To make it worse, certain youtubers play tricks on us and manipulate us in making our choice for which we spend our hard earned money.

Been following this channel from my early adulthood days ! So true! Those 15-20 creators control the entire tech industry it seems and the genuine content is never pushed to top, been facing this for years and Only during covid I was able to see the trend change because there were so many uncontrollable things happening which were out of anyone's hands. Glad someone brought all this up.

I work in the industry I know how bad it is.

I was getting some feeling of these so called tech gurus getting paid as they were showcasing only positive things about the products. Competition is important in fair market otherwise there will be no innovation. Thanks for doing this informative video. More strength to you guys.

I feel RU-vid has become so mainstream that businesses and companies integrate themselves into every video you see. Whether it's a tech, non-tech, or any other video, you will see different types of brand integration. In India, there is a particular brand that promotes betting, which I see many of the RU-vid businesses promoting. I know it pays a lot, but if your audience is childish or not of mature age, it doesn't make sense to promote such types of apps just for the sake of money. Now, RU-vid feels just like another promotional stunt platform.

Gosh.... how do these cartels come up in the first place? Amazing ecosystem that allows the profileration of mafia in any industry.

Bro in the US, revieers specifically mention that they paid for a device and that the thoughts we are about to hear are their own and not influenced by the brand like lon tv. I hope something similar is followed in India

i subscribed igyaan and c4tech since 2014 and you guys are doing a great job.

This is why I bailed out many years ago and shut my website after 11 years (that- and the fact that I am getting older by the year, pandemic lockdown put mental stress on me and I could see where the industry is headed). For what's worth I did earn the experience I need to work for international publications and I am happy doing things without compromising and earning good money out of it. This isn't exactly the industry to make money out of by compromising. But a lot of people compromise- especially mainstream Indian media being complicit in this. Good callout. More power to you. Here's hoping things change. And a lot of things need to desperately change.

I've done my internship in a Marketing Agency and can verify that scripts, backgrounds, thumbnails etc are really decided by the agency and revised drafts are repeatedly asked from influencers. Although my agency didn't do these unfair practices at all infact they gave the freedom to the creators to use their own creativity. Although some pointers etc are fixed by the brands themselves. Infact I remember in some client call those brand managers asked for these unfair scripted demands and my mentor and the co founder simply refused those demands. I'm not at all saying all agencies do this but yes there is a high probable shady area where these marketing agencies can manipulate and collude and run the content which favor their malicious intents.
