Michigan Stadium is just that, simple and elegant, but with an extremely intimidating game-day environment. Looking at it from the outside, you wouldn't have guessed how massive it really is. In addition to an NHL Winter Classic, it's also hosted college hockey and Premier League soccer friendlies.
Great video as always, however I would say that the AO Arena in Manchester and the O2 Arena in London have larger capacities than the Stark Arena. Not sure what the criteria is though for your final decisions on what makes it the biggest.
Bash me for not being tech savvy, but I’m unsure how to DM you. Love your work, headed to Rome and the coliseum soon, would love to see a video/s on old/ancient/demolished stadiums if you can find renderings. Just an idea. Keep it up!
Be interesting to compare the record attendance for each region in comparison to the current largest capacity Camp Nou in Europe at 99k now but used to hold 115k , the old Stadium of Light held 120k , old Wembley once held 123k and I think the old bowls in Glasgow all had huge attendance records with Hampden once holding 153k . You also had rugby stadiums in excess of 100k attendance in Odsal Stadium in England and Murrayfield in Edinburgh South America would obviously be the Maracana at 199k and the Morumbi 150k In Oz the MCG could hold 120k before the renovations Asia pass don’t know , I assume Eden Gardens would have had the biggest attendance previously but don’t know the numbers North America I assume it would still be the big house and I guess it’s not shrunk but grown over the years although the Aztec Stadium I guess may have had some bigger crowds before it was updated
Asia's record attendance might be at the Rungrado 1st of May stadium in Pyongyang, which before renovations was said to have a capacity of 150,000. I'm not sure we can necessarily believe the claimed attendance figures though.
Random person: Seems like a bit too much seating in the Greensboro Coliseum. Would it ever sell tgat many tickets. Ric Flair: You don't know my history, do you?
Lots of countries (and of course, continents) have 1 or 2 big stadiums and arenas, but North America (due to the USA) has dozens of big stadiums and arenas.
Seating in the Greensboro Coliseum is just under 20,000, the 23,000 number is with the old seating and includes floor seats for concerts. The largest arena is the Dean Smith Center about an hour away, 21,750.
Also depends on whether you consider the Carrier Dome (or, ugh, the JMA Wireless Dome) an arena. Yes, it hosts football, but it is as much a basketball venue as a football/lacrosse one.
@Drew B 22,00 is for concerts with floor seating. For basketball right now it holds 21,021, but that includes the temporary seats around the court. The true capacity with just the permanent seats (hockey capacity) is just under 20k.
