@@jacksonpercy8044 I was more so talking about the ⅚ speed thing, although in a roundabout way that's what makes BT Skip human viable in PAL Super Metroid.
I'm just stoked there's a speedrunning/video game explanation video that's less than 10 minutes long, that's incredible, you should share your secret to other youtubers that can't seem to make videos less than 30 minutes long.
yeah I'm sick of these 20+ minutes of history lessons to explain something on a video only hardcore players would get. I don't believe in glitch runs or even so called glitchless runs. I want to see the game speed ran the way it was meant to be played. No wall glitches or shortcuts other than what was programmed into it.
@@jermalshemism3367 I loved glitched runs too but yeah, what should be a short explanation always turns into a long winded explanation of game mechanics, I think they're stretching it out for monetization time or something
@@ThrashCommander some day the two of you will realize how silly that is and that the videos you're complaining about have millions of views. It's amazing the goofy witchcraft you assume is happening when you could just look at the numbers
well if you find a way to somehow obtain a bottle as deku link in 1st cycle you could get bow and with bow hookshot and with hookshot ocarina. But getting a bottle would mean you need to either find a way to... trick koume into giving deku link the bottle enter and leave lon lon ranch with glitches and defeat the aliens as deku link win the goron race as deku link by tricking the silly gorons win against the beavers as deku trick madame aroma so she'll give you her bottle trick your way into night 3's grave, get the big poe to spawn and defeat it to trigger the chest spawn for the bottle each of these seem very unlikely the biggest hope is actually finding a way to take on the aliens with something else than a bow or go for a quiver upgrade and hope that works just like actually finding a bow, even though those require bow to be obtained too I mean there's hope if somebody finds certain other glitches. Deku somehow needs to get Sonata on day 1 or 2 then this whole thing would work (or find a wrong warp into woodfall as child link that is feasable to do)
If water-vine GID worked in MM I could maybe see it being a thing in the seaside observatory (I assume those broad ladders are reskinned vines). But that isn't a a thing in MM at all, is it? I guess just as well, even if that was a thing it would be a longshot.
vine gim doesn’t work sadly u can’t shield or c-up in water iirc. i have like a potential vine gim strat using text but there’s no frame to grab a vine unfortunately
Question; why is Zora mask specifically used for so many glitches? Is it like a quirk in the coding, or something to do with how Zora ‘mode’ is programmed or an event flag that gets triggered or something? Just seems like a weirdly specific mask, like you’d think you’d be able to use any of the transformation masks
@@JakeZSR Ah, I thought maybe in different versions it did other things, but guess I was wrong. Thx. Though I assumed that arrow damage is not amoung the values, or else you would have thought about it before.
completely valid question. the song of healing cutscene specifically looks for an item in the ocarina slot, so ocarina items will not work. action swap (the deku stick arrows glitch) requires either the bow or the hookshot as well as a quiver (we can skip the quiver using 0th day as deku, but deku requires the song of healing cutscene which requires ocarina)
That's what I always said. "No major glitches" is a bad name. Should be "no memory manipulation". That should cover opening the debug menu and SRM (and by extension ACE).
So... I'm going to assume that testing has proven that this isn't all hopeless anyway, right? Getting the Ocarina via GIM or any other method would properly trigger the cutscene for getting the Deku Mask and not lead to something like that entire cutscene getting skipped, leading to getting neither the Deku Mask nor the Song of Healing. Right? Please tell me people have tested that the next step would actually work if, hypothetically, this missing glitch was found to make it possible. Like testing using cheats or something to replace the missing glitch just to confirm that it would actually be helpful and not a complete waste of time leading to a new problem or softlock even.
@@JakeZSR Darn. Is it specifically the one in red or do they all have the property that lets the scimitar ones see you? Or am I just misremembering how Stone Mask works on the pirates?
Isn't this pointless? Don't speed runners just start a file that has already progressed to first ocarina and used song of time with bank at 99 rupies? Or is this only some categories?
That could maybe work assuming everything else doesn't break and crash the game before that point. And only certain areas are viable for such a glitch. I don't believe there is a load zone of that type in the Hallway to Hookset chest window or the Hookshot room itself.
@@En2md bufferoverflows from my experience are the most reliable, I don't have a setup to test it but if someone would simulate it by spawning a bunch of actors in that would be cool. Knowing the internet, someone will.
afaik we don’t have a way to “actor unload” here like in tww/tp. there’s something similar in oot with the storms grave but the same concept couldn’t apply here for multiple reasons. if it was possible then this would likely work because the “detection” mechanic is directly tied to those actors
I want to see a speedrun with no so called exploits which I consider glitches. Like absolutely no wall tricks what so ever. One of the challenges that would require the player not only to reschedule sleep and change diet due to you not wanting to have to shit through the playthrough lol. But not screw up a single jump or attack, miss item and get every item in perfect order.
You're spewing this cringe on every video. Go watch glitchless runs and stop watching videos about glitches and then complaining about glitches. Weirdo.
@@rahcassi5416 No they still use wall short cuts and shit, no one has ever done a full legit 100% speed run. Show me one where no short cuts are taken.
