I need to say, I'm so happy to see this masterpiece coming together after all this time. Keep up the amazing work Zorp, you've got the best terrain on RU-vid!
Hey Lochy, I really appreciate the honesty you showed toward your builds. It really inspired me to push past a hurdle in the hobby of finding all the faults in my work and scraping a few projects.
Awesome!! U need to meet my dad he built a Hugh diorama of the battle of Waterloo with over 30,000 1.72 infantry, cavalry, artillery and all the actual individual regiments real flags from the battle on each regiment. Iv just introduced him to war hammer he’s more of a real military history guy. But he’s already starting his 1st set of ultra marines lol.
That board need some War of the Ring action, not only for practicality, but so you can field some humongous armies beyond our wildest dreams. Honestly i can't even start to imagine how glorious this project will be once finished, i have an idea but as you said there's so much more to do! This community project is wholesome.
I've come up with a last alliance legendary legion, what do you think? Either Gil Galad or Elendil must be your army leader, if you have both then Gil Galad will be in command. Numenorians can only lead Numenorians, and the same for Elves and dwarves. The army will be all infantry Elves and men will benefit from each other's army bonus. Gil Galad and Elendil become 3 inch banners. Models: Gil Galad, Elrond, Cirdan, high elf warriors, all of Numenor's profiles, all dwarves of Khazad Dum minus named heroes.
Epicness! Those led fire pits are sick, haven't seen those before some how... seeing the size of this thing come together I can see why you are gonna have 50 players lol
there is not enough space for me the express my love and fascination for your project. Keep on doing what you do best: amaze us! I will do my part of this journey and spread this link on every platform i´m on! Love, pure love for this project.
This is amazing, great to look back and see how far you have come and all the work by the community is inspirational! Love this whole build 😀 keep up the good work ZORP!
It’s so insanely large. Like I know it’s a massive board, but seeing it all together during the second half really puts into perspective just how incredible it is. Everyone working on this project or has helped, round of applauses to you!
As someone who adores LOTR this is so amazing to see in someones home, you'll be the envy of the table top community when its finished and there wont be a person in this hobby that wouldnt kill for 10 minutes of gameplay on this board. Good job!
Oh wow! For some reason I had it in my head that you were putting together a single 4 foot wide x however long board so that, at a convention or something, a row of tables would go from inner city on one end to the river at Osgiliath on the other end in one long, narrow slice - but this is way, way wider! Probably too wide to play on once if it was all assembled? Unless one split it in the other direction I suppose. Either way, however you divide it up into playable widths, you’re going to get multiple play areas out of all this, which is awesome! Now you just need a moving van to be able to transport them all - One van to haul them all, one van to tow them. One van to bring them all and in the game hall show them.
as a terrain builder myself I must say HOLY HELL that is massive well done to everyone whos helped ya along the journey and cant wait to see it all finally done well done Zopra and well done RU-vidrs who helped . This makes me want to make a video series of my massive D&D worlds I have planned for my campaigns .
I've loved watching this progress and can't wait to see it expand even further. Would love to see you tackle the great gate with it's courtyard and maybe even Grond.
Idk who is fighting the harder battle, the gondorian soldiers defending Minis Tirith or zorp fighting to keep his eyes open! lmao! Looks awesome. Was excited to see this all together.
I have to say this is absolutely my most favorite thing going on in the hobby right now I so cannot wait to see this come to full completion it will be the most epic and masterful gaming board! Love love love it all buddy keep up the great work all of you! Absolutely incredible!!
DUDE!!!! Lauchie you ledge you are almost there, the finish line is in site and we have been with you all the way, keep smashing goals, keep being a legend!!
Its really starting to come together man! It must feel super satisfying to see it all lined up like that for the first time, and exciting yet daunting with all your future plans for the boards still in the works. Keep it up man, its been a treat to follow along with you!
I knew it, I had said, it here it is Bois and Girls, the real project the madman has been working on. Finally it's finished and it's breathtaking. I am so excited, FOR GONDOR!!!
Dude bet the thinner messup gave you some hectic heart palpitations, really appreciate the details of the build! looking forward to the monsterous battle!
SO COOL!!! I'd pay to play on that board! If I may nitpick though: the forge and anvil area needs a roof of sorts, otherwise the smith would not be able to gauge the temperature of the steel by sight. That is to say, they can't see what color the metal is glowing under direct sunlight, they need shade!
How did it take me this long to find a great Aussie terrain wizard. Gimme a sec, I now need to raid your backlog to find where the hell we get XPF nowdays
Man, I clicked this video SO fast. This is incredible to all see together after all these years. No words, I hope someone from the original New Line design team sees this. You guys deserve the recognition.
This is great and all, but why is there grass inside the city?.. In all seriousness, this is f*cking BEAUTIFUL mate! It has been an honor and a pleasure to watch this build and your channel over the years and watch it grow to this magnitude!
Can anyone explain how the odorless paint thinner wash was fine with foam while the other solvent (I assume just non-odorless?) melted the foam? I'm looking to work with styrofoam and am planning on trying out a few different techniques including watered down PVA and the flour/water/salt "primer" in order to be able to effectively paint it all with an airbrush (including thinner/medium/iso/etc) but I was under the assumption that it would wreck the foam unless there was a protective coating. Did the primer and white coat protect the foam from the odorless PT while the other solvent was just drastically stronger and didn't care, or is odorless PT a foam safe thinner?
Fingers crossed Jonathan! Or should I call you THORPEY? (hopes extremely vague reference only an Aussie watching cereal ads in the early 2000's will get)
holy meatballs that looks amazing!! That is going to be sooo much fun to play on! - im envisaging that the players will be on a pulley system hooked up to the ceiling (kind of like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible) Cant believe you melted the foam - its a good job you didn't put it on everything then go to lunch! Look forward to the next video :):)
This looks like it's going to be absolutely freaking amazing! I can't wait to see it when it's completed. I feel like the only dreadful thing about this would be playing the game, and losing track of your soldiers since they're so tiny and this set is so massive. XD
Just kind of how would you ever play on this though? Are you gonna have people hanging from the roof like Nazgul above the battlefield to move orcs across the pelennor?
Holy cow I love this well done you crazy dude, this is awesome, been waiting for ages to see a full sized minas tirith build.......you've made the 14 year old me freak out at seeing this
Been so excited and enthralled following this build and now it's coming together in all it's majesty, you're crushing it bud, keep up the great work! =D
Whenever I accidentally melted my foam, I would "fix" it by filling it with moss and tufts of grass. I'm a complete amateur ofc, but it looked fantastic.
This is absolutely incredible. I'm blown away by how much you have done. Keep up the amazing videos, they help me get through the tough times and inspire me so much to pursue my hobbies and creativeness, so thank you :)
