You always hear privileged citizens complain about impoverished and rundown neighborhoods that are majority Black. But they never complain about the wealthy and greedy hedge funds that keep these areas from developing which are majority White. It’s time for change.
@@valtazatsalazar2392there are wealthy black people, there is reasons they are not investing in these neighborhoods. It may be hard to find a buyer or even for them to get a loan in many cases. Plus in the South and West sides have been plagued with horrible crime not making them ideal neighborhoods for many who wants to buy a house and raise a family. Many blackswho want to raise a family are leaving for the burbs or down south. The only time you feel a little at ease as when you see older Puerto Ricans in the south and West sides. This is not a knock against black people it's just what it is. The use of these neighborhoods as even made it to the downtown and Northside vandalizing people outside of their own neighborhoods. It's a damn shame because they are not representing thier race, only some kind of Thug culture. Much of this is on the heads of government & schooling for the NeverEnding circle of lack of education and disproportionate wealth. However they have introduced some very good magnet public schools in Chicago. And many underprivileged children have found a way to better themselves, so anyone can do it, even if the chips are stacked against them.
@@aallan7365 this is also true, the crime in these neighborhoods is a huge issue that unfortunately it’s own community cannot solve thus creating lack of real estate investing.

when filing sale in error in the treasurer's office, they issue refund based on the receipts the buyer presents, 18% is the interest that the taxpayer of record owes to the buyer. the news are saying that the treasurer pays out to buyers interest on the taxes being owed by the owner of record. to take care of a property means to pay off any back taxes, interest and liens on the property too
Every person of authority since they discovered this loophole is a POS for not fixing this sooner. Hopefully karma is giving those POS what they deserve.
One the Obama center being built in Chicago won't benefit the residents of the area. 2 Chicago is not the only place with massive amounts of abandoned lots and vacant homes. Springfield Danville could benefit for less red tape. No property should be sold to an intity without some kind of development clause.
The South side has a big problem of light. Number one issue is the government or mayor using appropriate funds correctly. Just recently, they appropriated 52 million to house. The migrants when what would happen? If they just paid the tax debts and gave away the houses instead, what would happen to the neighborhood? I think this would be a better use of the funds. I don't understand why Chicago doesn't do this instead of appropriating 50 million towards nothing waste assistant that doesn't know how to fix itself, so sad. I want to property on the South side. I bought it and blight for less than $10000. I'm working on it for 4 years. Slowly but surely making a nice. So if I can get a place for tangerine, the city of chicago should be a little by enough housing to house every person in chicago.
A lot of those property in Chicago is selling for cheap as well but it will take a lot to put in those properties cuz you have to restructure the majority of the property
She can buy that lot for a little bit of nothing and she could also buy she can also look into who own that building through banking and the property as well cuz sometimes like I say those properties he's going for a dollar the most health problem but it depends on who owned it cuz the bank can own it from out of state as well cuz they be selling some of their properties on Chicago southside and Westside
So why noot leave it alone and complain to the city about its maintenance. Then the cut will fine them for not keeping it up. Resulting in fines for the investor and it won't be something that they want to deal with.
This is all good and great but buildings are just buildings, it's not the buildings making these neighborhoods/cities undesirable it's the crime rates which are coming from the people in the neighborhood. Buildings don't commit crimes and slapping a coat of paint on a building and mowing the lawn isn't going to fix the crime problem.
Too bad the City can not buy these and build single family homes. These brand new homes can be given to away free to the new Asylum Seekers. The city could waive the property taxes for 20 years to help the newcomers gain a foothold in our great city.
That sounds dumb, do you know how many white people I’ve either brought too the hood, seen in the hood or lived in the hood on the southside and was perfectly fine. Please stop over exaggerating if you have never been in these places first hand to give accurate information. Get boots on the ground first, give us first hand experiences not things you imagine might happen like getting killed if skin don’t match the neighborhood.
