This episode of Jamie Sommers vs the fembots in Las Vegas was one of my favorite shows from the bionic woman television series. It never gets boring. I could watch this over and over again.
I know, here it is all these very long decades later and this show never has left me, heck I STILL hear people make that 'bionic sound" from time to time, lol. Another absolute favorite is Doomsday is Tomorrow, that's a totally awesome two part series, some of the best tv ever !!
0:15 loved how the glass broke before anything touched it. Lol. I loved Bionic Man & Woman. People used to say I looked a lot like Lindsey Wagner was I was a teen. My hair was same color long no bangs
@@christiansoldier77 Watch it again more carefully (change the settings in the screen to 1/2 or 1/4 speed) -- the glass is a pre-breakaway type used for safety purposes during stunts like these, and is triggered a fraction of a second ahead of whatever is supposed to impact it. The glass is in fact breaking before she touches it, but looks as if her hitting it is what causes it to break when watched casually at "normal" speed.
Some of the best episodes of the entire series, were the fembots. Part 70s sexism and misogyny, part imitation of the times in movies, like the Stepford Wives, there was something in-between….. The Bionic Woman. God I love this series.
Jamie Sommers and the Femots of Las Vagas. Jamie can stand her ground but she is smart and knows how to stay ahead of the game. Please show longer episodes I will watch it if you.
No one will ever replace The bionic woman I seen her since she first began I was like 12 13 years I washed your till the end of all her movies no one can ever replace she's one of a kind they can create bionic movies with no one ever top her movies ever❤❤❤ I am one number one fan
Same here. Not a fan of season 3, but this two part episode was great. Season 3 was like a departure from the original concepts of the BW. I love dogs but to add a bionic dog was kinda outrageous. Ha ha
There are only a few episodes of season 3 that I hated..... Rodeo... african connection... rancho outcast....deadly music.... The rest I really didn't mind at all... Plus the variation of the season 3 opening was my favorite of all of them... there were a couple of episodes I didn't like in season 2... I hated the wrestling episode and the beyond the call episode... Well, hate is a strong word... I just didn't care for them... It also blows my mind how much different she looked as the show went on.. Her look in season 1 vs season 3 was SO different for such a short amount of time.
You can learn a lot about engineering and the construction trades from watching these old shows. • When anchoring a steel ladder to the wall, don't just drive screws into the drywall. They can easily tear loose. Make sure to find a stud or other secure structural member. • Barrels should never be stacked on stair landings. They might fall over and cause an accident, even a serious injury. • Do not fall on shards of broken glass. That black pantyhose is liable to get a run in it, and then the effect will be totally ruined. • When push starting a helicopter rotor, always push in the direction of lift. Withdraw your hand once the rotor no longer resists being pushed. Also withdraw your head from the path of the blade, if you don't want to learn firsthand why it's called a blade.
Love it how they sped up Jaimes running away when exiting which they never did but this showed how fast she was moving in real time. It was 3 against 1 and Jaime still kicked their ass when her back is to the wall dont mess with Miss Somers just like the other Somers girl aka Buffy.
Loved loved this show! As a little girl growing up in the 70s Jaime Sommers and wonder woman were two strong female characters I could look up to. I would cry if I didn't get to watch the bionic woman. Lindsay still a beautiful woman today and such a humanitarian
Back when we thought going in slo mo meant great feats of strength and special effects!! Now imagine watching us 70’s kids acting this out on the street as people passed by. I’m sure they thought we were all on drugs…never mind the sounds we did as well!!!
One consistency at least: they had established that the Fembots were very heavy, being entirely machines. It makes sense that they never showed the same ability to leap as Jamie and Steve.
This show STILL thrills me after all these long decades, the Fembots were soooo wonderfully creepy! Lindsay Wagner such a LOVELY lady and EXCELLENT actress ... the acting in this show was all round damned GOOD !! :)
@@southwestjohnny7767 As I remember it: For certain shots, they needed Lindsay to actually hang from the helicopter just a few feet over the roof, but winds took the helicopter up further than expected. She had to let go, and luckily just landed on the padding underneath her. She was ok, but realized everyone was laughing, and she became upset. In her dressing room, her mother (who was on the set) told her that when she let go of the helicopter, she grabbed her nose like she used to do when she was a little girl jumping into the pool. Lindsay wasn't even aware that she had done it.
Like most kids my age back in the day....I was madly in love with Lindsay Wagner....whew!! We had her...Farrah Fawcett, and Wonder Woman.....those were the days.
...and don't forget 'The Secrets of Isis'. Joanna Cameron was another 70's looker! Isis was on the air before either The Bionic Woman or Wonder Woman, and sort of kicked-off the super-heroine TV craze. Was a good time to be kid!
I can imagine the helo entering ground resonance. It can happen naturally in this kind of helo, let alone with an external force pushing the rotor abnormally and making the blades lead and lag out of sync.
@SeattleSandro You can see one of these entering ground resonance in the opening scene of one McGyver's episode. The fuselage starts to wobble a bit, and then the pilot lifts off very swiftly to get rid of the resonance.
It's worth noting that the interior designers of the 1970's had a real flair for form and color. Lots of the various shades of brown complimented with liberal amounts of Santa Red.
This was one of the scariest scenes of the entire series. I love the way there’s some 50 gallon steel drums right on the stairwell for her to use. Why were they there? I’m sure that’s a safety hazard.
Seeing her move those propellers reminded me of Steve in Little Orphan Airplane. Where Steve did the same thing on an airplane. They used so many stories from SMDM and used them on Bionic Woman.
The door suddenly became paper thin when the fembots were breaking through. And why couldn't they jump up to the helicopter, when she did??! They were next to her. Only in the movies.
I saw this when was a toddler. It was in syndication in the 80s and I watched in fear with my sisters. I thought the Fembots were in gym clothes when I would think back on this ep... close enough though...lol
Often wondered why Jamie and Steve were not obese? I mean they could run all day at sixty miles an hour but not a singing calorie would be burnt off!! 😂😂
I remember here back in the early 80s, it was Wonder Woman on one channel, and The Bionic Woman on the other channel, both at 5pm. Hard to pick which one to watch sometimes.
When Jaime lets go of the door and starts to run toward the helicopter, there's no way the fembot should have been able to catch her. They didn't have bionic speed like she did.
Jamie Sommers v the fembots and Steve Austin v the sasquatch were my favourites in the 70s when I was about 10. Couple them with the Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno and I was in heaven!
This show actually had me scared for Jamie. Handling one of those monsters is one thing. Three?!? I was sure they were going to rip her bionic pieces off. 😢 This inspired me to introduce something similar to my DnD campaign. ❤
