That was Srinivasan playing his influence as owner of CSK,one of the most shady BCCI president who had offcourse no conflict of interest owning a team and being the BCCI president..

Still BCCI can't figure out their RU-vid Game . I mean Cricket isn't like Football , we need to Grow the Sport and for that one needs to showcase the best of IPL & Indian Cricket on the most feasible platform aka RU-vid . I would have never Followed Chess if it weren't for RU-vid . Don't Make the sport more Private , don't give Copyright Strikes to people Analysing the game or Making a video like vox . Just put your Content Here ffs . IPL will grow even more . I have no Doubt that the channel will cross 50 million subs in No time . Its high time , just learn from CA or ECB. ( Even though they also gives Strikes n all but still they put their content here as well )

The decision to make sure that all franchises had a similar amount of money to spend is wildly underrated. It effectively levelled the playing field so to speak, which then translated to the field as well. Even today, there's no saying which team will win on any given day, even if one of the teams are a reigning champion and the other is sitting at the bottom of the table, and that is amazing for the fans and the long term growth of the sport and IPL itself. If they ever change that in the future and allow franchises to spend whatever they can afford, it is going to be an absolute disaster for the sport and for the entertainment value IPL offers because of how wins will come to be dominated by just a few teams.

It's already happening. Apart from Team purse, everything is open ended. Watch 1st season, RR was a poor team, didn't had a coach. While look at Deccan chargers or Mumbai or RCB, they got top techicians...Apart from these there is no restriction to pay extra to any player from your end...So yes, there is nothing called equality...

1) Since it's an annual event and a bulk of the heavy lifting would be required only in a short span of time (say 3-4 months), it probably doesn't make sense to carry a 200 member team as full time employees and pay them for the full year. A small full time employee group is probably enough to do strategic planning and partnerships through the early months and temporary workforce is brought in as and when needed. 2) Hiring external partners can bring in expertise that you may not necessarily have or want to build. For ex: having a 10 member full time marketing team who only does marketing for IPL vs an agency on contract which handles marketing many sporting events across the globe and brings that knowledge *Personal interpretation, may not be always applicable*
