This is my favorite band of ALL time. I feel like I'm being reborn into to a high intelligent laid back chill ass flower child.

These guys are amazing. I saw them some years back in Portland and their set was completely dark and they started playing Empire and Alex emerged out of this fog they had going all over the stage and started singing and it was so piercing and hollow. It was the most bone chilling spine tingling thing I've ever experienced.

Best live band I've seen in 20 years... Multi-instrumentalists, an understanding of the history of psychedelia, tempo changes, no bs on stage---they just play song after song. I prefer the darker stuff on Passover and Directions, but their new stuff is good as well. I find it very hard to believe they are on such a small independent label. Some A&R d-bag certainly missed out on these guys! I've seen them 5 times in the last 4 years and their last show in Costa Mesa, CA was insane!. The pit was going nuts, body passing, stage diving, and some good old kicks to the head by the bouncers... I have not seen a real pit like that since Bad Brains. Rock it people! Eventually people will get it. There's nothing wrong with following your mission... If people follow great; if not, they don't know what they are missing. The average American is an idiot, so please write for those of us who aren't... Also, your parents must have been incredibly cool, because your musical tastes go way further that your average twenty something... Good luck, you guys saved the current music scene for me. It's been a year and three months since I saw and heard The Black Angels for the first time.

Innovative and fresh approach to revisiting the spirit of the 60's music scene without losing the freeness of the time. Free to play your music anyway you wanted without record producers gutting your songs or putting fake bands together and writing all their songs for them (example: the Monkeys and 50% of the stuff out of Nashville). Like them or not these guys at least are REAL! I like them.

"Young men dead" is so great. Amazing sound.

As a combat vet, I can say with confidence that this here is the best therapy this side of Mars' temple.

Stumbled on this band after watching the pilot episode of "True Detective" (Episode ends with "Young Men Dead"). HAD to follow up on them. One of my new favorite bands by far. Absolutely blown away. I've been a die-hard Growlers fan (beach goth) but these guys are threatening to take the title.

I've discovered this band thanks to shazam. I was in a vintage clothing store when "Black isn't Black" started playing.. Great band!

Seeing them for the fourth time come February. It will be awesome yet again.

41:15, amazing guitar sound.

I saw them on this tour at the Vogue in Indianapolis. It was, like all their shows, mind blowing. They're the band I've seen more than any other at this point. I think it's over ten gigs by now. The whole band clicks and no show live show disappoints. The drummer, Stephanie Bailey, is a beast and, in my opinion, the Black Angels' secret weapon. Christian Bland, the lead guitarist, is one of the nicest cats in music.
