Maybe the most extraordinary thing about this band to me that is NEVER mentioned is that the vocalist is CLEARLY possessed by the spirit of Jim Morrison, it's absolutely uncanny the devotion to Morrison's inimitable swaying and swagger from one note to the next and his unique phrasing in drawing out words. In classical music the term is "appoggiatura," of starting one note, holding it, and then swaying into another note. I hear the Velvets and Spacemen3, both bands I adored, that everyone everwhere always cites, but the Morrison thing is huge, and inhabits nearly every one of their songs. Very powerful. If you close your eyes and concentrate on his voice, You Will Hear The Doors.
Someday, but not today We will move away to a place that's nice and safe Someday, but not today Someone, is your King And you look up to them, yeah divine in their way And you say, yeah you say you better believe her She gave you plenty warning Floating on a moat, yeah, you diggin the moat, and you say, yeah you say, "Oh now, bring me joy lead me with your army You take our children, with your bloodstained hands" You better believe her Alright, alright you got my love, and that's fine All night, all night I swear to the highest high, I will keep it mine A promise with a catch, I'm sleeping with a smile And you're safe, but just today You better believe me One night, when she goes blind, find her where she sleeps, wake her from her dreams Shh, it's ok She gave you plenty warning
People who get scared of music are so weird, what is a giant snake gonna suddenly be summoned and strangle people flinging them up high in the air or something?
I had a coworker who sold his entire lp collection of Jethro tull for peanuts, dirt cheap, cos his preacher told him that was the devil´s music. I made it to the room when he had already closed the deal. However, I still tried to reason with him, but he was too brainwashed. So... I asked him what other good collection he had, and if he asked his preacher about them. :P
Loved Jim Morrison when I was growing up--and old! This band's sound is the one I'll carry to the proverbial island with me, along with the music of Gorecki and Beethoven.
Yesterday I went to a party too . When my friends heard this song , it blew their fucking minds off !!! You can imagine that the party was pretty cool ;)
Psychedelic rock actually had a really nice revival at the start of the decade. Old Portugal. the Man, Temples, Tame Impala are some nice psychedelic rock bands. I can't speak for Temples, but PTM and Tame Impala aren't all that psychedelic anymore
This is the kind music I need from time to time, epic rumbling drums, low down grubby guitar skills.made for mashing about off your fukin swede for sure.
I know you youngster, (that is compared to me), might think this comment is odd, but I get the same feeling listening the this group as I did, back in the day, listening to the Doors. In other words, I like it!
Eric Johnson Proud to welcome a new Black Angels fan to the fandom!!! here’s a playlist of pretty much all their music organized by flow, theme, and style... ru-vid.com/group/PLjrl1fuYYN3CfSmIaA2uTCQFUpwfXcvAZ

I went to a party the other day, the music was ok but not great. I sneaked to the stereo and put my ipod and played this song. A few minutes later, as i was enjoying a beer, a girl came to me and said: "eeew, please stop that music, it's too scary!". I took back my ipod, grabbed some beers and left that shitty party. No time for bitches who can't enjoy what's good in life.
what weak women.. something must have changed, as i saw majority really attractive women, last i saw black angels in late 2017, was not expecting that..
Two horrible demon like faces in the sky. Clouds, trees, bushes, stones and rocks reveal such dark images all the time. Nature is dark and dangerous and beautiful!
I've heard that psychedelics are unlikely to trigger the onset of schizophrenia without consistent use, and that DMT in particular can even help people manage its symptoms. Of course, any chance is still a chance and you only carry two things with you for life, your brain and your reputation. Be careful man, but live your life.
