I remember when they did a show at CB-GBs back in the 90s. They played under the name "The Blessed Chloroform", and the percussion/rhythm section shook the building! So awesome, your uncle's playing
Excellent! I was practicing drums today and specifically noticed Your uncle because h was seemlessly hitting the cool drum part as the main drummer was playing really simply. As I’m just a few years into learning the drums, I’m really paying close attention to how great bands and drummers do their thing… percussionists… huge advantage for certain grooves and feels.🤙🤘
This was the exact show that made me fall in love with the Allman Brothers, even though they weren't there. I was a big Skynyrd fan already and didn't really get the Allmans, but somehow the ways the Crowes jammed made me feel like going home and discovering the Allman Brothers. I guess it was this open jam style that felt so good!!
You mentioned Skynyrd so I have a cool story. Skynyrd came to Atlanta and played the Mableton Theater before they were big. Ronnie Van Zant met my mom's friend and hooked up with her at my parents apartment after the show. After that Ronnie knew who my parents were every time they came to Atlanta. 😂😂😂
Was fan club member from 1991-2000 saw them in Detroit area every time they were here, first five rows every show, fan club presale tickets, soooo cool great live band
I was there! I can't believe I'm able to watch this again after all these years! Fond memories! I spent a lot of time at Shoreline Ampitheater in the 90s
I wasn’t expecting such a great video and audio from a HORDE festival. This is top notch. Thanks for posting this show from the best rock n roll band of the 90s and 00s
I was there for this. Amazing to see this video and be reminded of the details. I’m also, uh, much clearer headed than I was 25plus years ago for this show. Taj had played side stage and some of the Crowes played with him, earlier in the day.
That's how you opened a rock and roll show!! I went to H.O.R.D.E. every year and this was the best one. Saw the ABB the night before at the same venue.
Saw them open for the Dead at Tampa Stadium on this tour, April 1995. They were fantastic, even though the stadium was less than 1/4 full for most of their set. Loved them since they opened for Plant in ‘90.🤘🏼🎸🤘🏼
I was at that Tampa show. We came down from Ohio, I think that was either the last or second to last show of the Dead's Spring tour of 1995. The last they played with Jerry. We stayed at this unlicensed campground that got shutdown by Pasco County. As we were driving back from the show, there was like a mile of blue and red lights lining the road, breathalyzer stations, dogs, it was a fuckin' mess. Ended up having to break camp and drive across the state to watch the sunrise on Daytona Beach with the last of our 65lb tank of nitrous. What a trip...
Saw them a month before this on Aug 17 at Riverbend in Cincinnati...my first of many amazing Crowes gigs...11th row or better every time. My go to band of the 90s
I saw them for the first time at Great Woods during this tour - I was blown away I ve seen them several times over the years great band very underrated
Love ❤️ we all love !!! 💕 I see this is before you hated John popper😂 lolThis is best version of seeing things (for the first time). love you Rich, Chris& band!!!! Love, Chris’s next wife XO ;-)🙏
Eric"Bobo" is the percussionist from Cypress Hill, he def played with the Crowes (at shows I attended in New York). But that may be Chris Trullio in this video
@@AmoricaWombofthefree - Thank you so very much! This video is a special one for me! I really appreciate you sharing this with all of us! All the best!
Everybody Has Scars Jam -> My Morning Song Thick N' Thin Chevrolet (with Taj Mahal) Leaving Trunk (with Taj Mahal and John Popper) Seeing Things Pimper's Paradise (with The Melody Makers) High Head Blues Hard To Handle She (with Wilco) Jealous Again Remedy - encore - Happy (with several guest members from H.O.R.D.E.)
I was at this show and would check them out every time they would play anywhere near the SF Bay Area which was frequently. They always put on a great show and they were never as good as with the original lineup. If anybody knows where to find footage of them at Laguna Seca Daze (LSD) at Laguna Seca, CA, please let me know. LSD was a 3-day festival that would be scheduled on Memorial Day Weekend at Laguna Seca, CA. It ran for about a decade and had bands like Grateful Dead, Indigo Girls, etc. The one I am looking for was George Clinton and P-Funk, Black Crowes, and Bob Dylan. It was a phenominal show. It was mine and my son's mother's first date, we ran into my aunt and her boyfriend there, and I remember that the weather was unusually warm. The atmosphere and crowd was awesome and when the Crowes were playing Wiser Time, the sun was setting behind the stage. It is one of my greatest memories!
Well kids, what you are seeing here is this really awesome thing called ROCK N ROLL !! And to be honest with you, could not have picked a better example for your learning of true music and a sound all in it's own ☺️ I mean, this band was able to come up with there own sound and style of music. Black crows are one of those bands who would not in any way shape or form fall in line with most of the other bands who gave there sounds to the big wigs in the music business. Nope, these guys were all about playing there way, style . Not for the big money like most the other ones. And I tell ya,I myself am so glad they stuck to there guns and didn't waver
( LOS CUERVOS NEGROS.), A PLENO RENDIMIENTO, BIEN ATENDIDOS POR DOS "PÁJAROS", QUE SE UNEN AL FESTÍN. QUE "ENVIDIA" TAN GRATIFICANTE. GRANDES ESTOS TIPOS.
… rock n roll like the Bullet Train with the engineer on acid Rich Robinson is a genius should be ranked in the top 5 guitarists … their drummer should also b in the top 5 the whole band smokes and when the fog lifts the haze blown away … feel dazed and confused with a heightened sense of euphoria The Black Crowes like SRV&DT brought back RnR blues floating on the carpet of mystical journeys the likes never been heard or seen before their time … Jimi Hendrix started this Electric Church odyssey the BC & SRVDT carry on their excellent brand of our-of-this-universe psychedelics
@@seandoherty9820 Not for sure if it's Erica or Barbara Mitchell (or both), but it sounds like female singers on Girl From a Pawnshop, Halfway to Everywhere (along with two guys from Parliament-Funkadelic), Bring On, Bring On, Let Me Share the Ride, Evil Eye, and I think on the b-side Just Say You're Sorry.
They're terrible. Chris has had to adjust how he sings the songs because he can't sing the higher key notes anymore. Beyond awkward to watch. He looks about 75, too.
I fucking love this video! Everyone looks like hammered shit except for Johnny Colt! Chris looks like a dime store, emaciated version of Lowell George. The rest of the guys just look sick and tired. Good times!
I was at this show. They redeemed 5hemselves. I was down south at the so cal show. I 5hink it was dominguez hipls. Someidiot threw something a5 chris. Chris being the asshole but talented fuck he is, basically took it out on the rest of us, and entire band went through the motions. Chris pulled an axl. But i had every intent of going to shoreline anyways. They redeemed themselves.
Offered chris my A+ medical i grew myself at the doug fir in portland ,new earth mud,i had already been aware of his fuckerey towards everyone so i was amused when i offered him some i said its good you will like it he said doubt that and kept walking, classic
Wilco played a side stage at this show (Horde festival.) They were awesome!! I didn't know any of their music at the time, but I watched their whole set.
That was '94, I believe. Crowes headlined it from early August in St. Louis all the way through to the west coast after opening for Page/Plant and the Stones all summer in Europe. They were at the peak of their powers, although the cocaine vocals here from CR shows why it was a lot of touring and this was the last show of the '95 run.
It's the same old song and dance!!!! Nico FUCKIN ROCKER!! Bereciartua catches fire!!! Argentine pride. Greetings from Hurlingham Buenos Aires Argentina!!! Let it be rock ! Pappo Live! @NicoBereciartua @theblackcrowes @gibsonguitar @nicobereciartua
