The Velvets are my favorite American band, but I love the Crowes also. It's so nice to hear them do this one. I'd like to hear them do a concert of VU covers. They play that rhythm nicely, not the way the Velvets did it, and they've got 3 guitars to Lou's one, making for a unique homage with the Crowes own stamp on it. I think I'll play it again a couple of times . . . .
When the brothers are getting along they create some of the finest Rock and Roll ever. Rich looks like it takes all his effort to achieve greatness, Chris seems to make it look effortless even if it's not.🤩
Rich didn't sing lead often so it might have been a bit intimidating for him 🙂 I know I phuq up alot when I try to sing lead while I play guitar when opposed to just playing guitar and doing backup vocals lol....but I might just have no skills at all when it comes to this shit lol
I’d love to see them perform this in concert and be in the first 5 rows. A beautiful starry July evening in an outdoor amphitheater with Gary curating the perfect buzz.
Seven years later and I def agree! There's another performance of this song, which was actually the first I'd heard the song, and their performance, in particular, Richs excellent guitar work, and haunting voice that make his voice perfect for covering this song. I It's Rich & Chris, with a mostly pinkish lighting set, and they do a way better job than this. This is good, but that one is great! Their tiny desk concert is awesome as well. Another underrated guitarist is Stephen Stills. These guys are really good with the technical stuff. I also think the Black Crowes should be in the rock HOF.
Just got back from a concert last night of tedeschi trucks band and the black crowes. I spent all my money on beer and shirts haha but the black crowes were fucking amazing
Are you British? I saw the word Proper and it sounded like a British compliment, like Brilliant! I'm 96 percent British and 4 percent Cherokee, but 💯 American and I absolutely love the Black Crowes.
