www.cbc.ca/Q Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney discuss how their trend-bucking normality might be holding them back from super-stardom in this clip from their feature interview in Studio Q.
@NihilismSauce21 Showmanship! The full interview will be airing on CBC television this Sunday at 1pm, then the whole thing will be posted to RU-vid. Look for it on Tuesday morning.
@EternityinTransiency Agreed, I love these guys, really nice too! But all my favoriteartists end up talking about this at some point and I think its something useless to hear about. Broken Social Scene used to get it a lot and I just was waiting for them to get to the next question everytime. Can't wait for the full interview though.
Waw They have a strong personality , I just want to tell you that ur my first Favorite band and still and you guys deserve more than that and thanks Qtv for that interview
@CatastrophicDisease It's actually just one guy - but I'm sure if Jian had time in his schedule for comment reading and replying he'd be all over that.
It usually does go without saying for them. They're just saying it here because it's a frickin' interview and the subject came up. Would you rather they just skip the topic? That would be way more pretentious. The proof they don't have rock star personalities can be seen at any of their live performances. They're just two guys playing good music. No act. :)
Cool, but I've always rolled my eyes when artists go on about how they can't have rockstar personalities. it just seems a bit pretentious, i dont know. I just don't want to hear that from people. If its true it should go with saying.
I think Dan's really looking tired in this. Just watch around 1:00 at his eyes, and he has major bags and they're really that tired dark look. They really need a small break from everything to cool down, then annother break from touring to make their next moves, then annother break for their 2013 or 2014 album. Nobody can take the kind of rising fame they have without a break here or there.
