Beautiful history lesson Ace thanks. It seems like hell was a better place for black people to go. Not even the devil would have treated black people so bad.
Can you imagine if some white American expat went to Brazil and posted a video about European descendants in South America and labeled a particular area with arrow pointing saying “the white side”. Can you imagine how fast he would be cancelled from RU-vid and reported??
@@Horizon429 whichever the number they are still black. It's not an obsession ask anyone who has been discriminated bcoz of their skin color and they will tell you how important to love yourself
He’s worried more about the term inflation. When is your own government that are putting out the number of how the city has more African descendants which is the term I use to describe the City. the truth is many of Prado consider their self Black. if you don’t want to identify yourself as such that’s also OK, but you can’t tell anybody how they choose to identify you, especially in the eye of an equality. What I said in the beginning of the video applies to your mentality. And I’m pretty sure this is your second account stop doing that. I’m will block you. I don’t wanna erase your comments, but you can’t be using two accounts to inflate your message
@@ACEDTVL I am Pardo. I am not Black. I assure you the vast majority of Pardo people do not consider themselves Black. Pardo simply means "Varied Racial Ancestries" Pardos can be European and Indigenous. Pardos can be European and Japanese. Pardos can be European and Middle Eastern. You cannot assign a single identity to Pardo people. Pardos are very diverse. The vast majority of Pardo people are Brown not Black.
@@diegohenriquemarquesdovale8025 Oh thank you soooo much for that correction, the earth can start spinning again lol, but if you want to be obtuse about it… You should ALSO mention that she is also NOT the famous rock band, NOT a flamboyant gay man, NOT the most powerful piece in the game of chess, NOT a high ranking playing card, and NOT a fully developed colony insect whose sole purpose is to lay eggs…. I could say all that, but I would sound like a condescending a**hole… Try decaf.
Bro she's the very best tour guide that I've seen on RU-vid so far. She's so knowledgeable when it comes to Brazil, Africa and the slave trade. She's definitely A1! 👍
Ace Salvador Bahia is on my buckle list. I enjoyed your tour guide. I love history and especially of the indigenous and Afro Americans history. I told Latin American History at OSU and seeing this took me back to the classroom. I took a lot of heat from viewers during the Olmec Babies but I enjoy creating different ethnic foods, and why I can take the heat. The African Diaspora is very interesting and thank you for the knowledge. “Knowledge is power Baby”.
You mean propaganda to promote division! cuz there was never a racial hierarchy in brazil black and whites lived together had same opportunities same jobs thats how miscegenation happened. he is propagating lies! Even African-Americans that came to Brazil saw that Brazil was the future on racial and social relationships

Actually, the five millions is a low estimate. Scholars place the true number of Africans kidnapped to Brazil between ten and 20 million. So much so that in the 1800's there were 3 African man to 1 European (Portuguese).
absolutely + number of people that were not counted well . Western estimations will always be lower than reality when it's about counting BLK people so we don't realize our numeric superiority and power
@@Eman14128 So true. Now Brazil has lost it's uniqueness. It looks just like any other South American country, except for Bahia-but even there dark-skinned Brazilians are bound to disappear.
@@pearbear319 Few of us South Americans are interested in race. We may have customs and African blood, but we will never be African because we also have Aboriginal and white blood, even Chinese and Arab. What do you call a white person with 60% of African DNA?
Ace you’ve been able to shed a light on hidden gems and provide powerful perspectives from people all around the world. Anthropologists don’t even do it as well as you do brother.
@bwanahaguziki307 what's your point? More resilient than me, what's up with the hostility? If you want to beef with me for no reason you'll be beefing by yourself. I'm not up here to argue with you over nothing. I'm happy to see they're in touch with their African roots. That's a great thing. What did I lie about? These American MF's destroyed black Americans. Are you a black American? If not don't talk.
@@bwanahaguziki307 hmm no. You should speak on what you don't understand and have no historical knowledge about. Brazil had a dense population of Black people. It actually had the most Africans imported. And has the highest population of African descent people out side of Africa. In addition, Spanish weren't as brutal in stripping the African identity from the enslaved people. They often allowed them to practice their drumming and other tribal practices, as well as their languages, names, etc. And they hid some of there African deities behind Catholic religion. All these things were out lawed in the United States. They also would purposely buy Africans from different tribal groups and languages to make sure they could not communicate upon arrival. Ive heard countless stories of Spanish slave owners setting their captives free after a period of time. Spanish and French have a different culture than Anglo Whites and thus a very different slaving system and level of brutality thats why even in pockets of the United States. The most Afro centric parts are pretty much Louisiana, South Carolina (Gullah region) and pockets of Florida. Because more history has been maintained due to those states being colonized by other countries
Does anyone else feel like they've unlocked a new part of themselves after watching this? It's almost like finding a new branch of your family tree! This has genuinely inspired me to plan a trip to Brazil!
Greetings from Kansas City. This was A++++ quality ACE. Been to Rio and San Paulo but had no idea about Salvador Bahia. When you entered the area where MJ did his music video, I immediately recognized it and was thinking to myself "That looks exactly like "They dont really care about us" was filmed. a minute or two later, you and your amazing guide confirmed that. I bought a OLUDUM shirt years ago from that. My next trip to Brazil will be in Salvador Bahia. You done well my brother documenting this masterpiece.
Hands down this is one of the best and informative videos I have seen of yours. I love the fact that they acknowledge and embrace their African roots and aren't ashamed of them. I learned so much. I especially loved the story of the black church. Your content has evolved so much. Keep up the good work my friend. I can't wait for the next one 😉
Almost Everybody in Brazil has Black heritage even If you have white skin , the racism in Brazil based on How white is your skin tone even If you check the DNA in Brazil white skin people Will have Black, Indians Native Americans and European DNA all mixed so being racist in Brazil is stupid ...the racism down here is not strong but exist based on your skin tone 😊😊😊
@@krazyjnva2up2down55 Exactly. Hijacking the identity of multi-racial people and forcing multi-racial people to claim only what best fits the propaganda and personal agendas of the content creator.
Exactly. Americans have to understand that pretty much everyone in Brazil is mixed. Therefore, here race is defined by skin color and phenotype. We can't apply the one drop rule to our reality. I work for a traditional family of white baiano billionaires (who practically own the state) and even they have distant African ancestry.
As a man that has lived all over the world, in particular the Americas and Africa I commend you for a great job on the information that was presented during this video.
Yes, we appreciate Kali! She did a wonderful job and added an amazing presence to your video. Great stuff guys!! Beautiful rich tradition is present there and yearns to be explored ❤ Happy travels, Ace! ✊🏾🤗
Kali is great, she knows a lot about the history and Salvador holds not only 80% of the important history of Brazil but also a very important historical post for all of the Americas.
I am watching your video now and I love it. I was thinking about going Costa Rica maybe next year and now I want to go to Salvadore. You also had a great tour guide. Need to hire her for my family.
Thanks, for this Ace! I just want to say that there is at least one tribe that has a warrior dance similar to Capoeira in Africa. I'm talking about the Etoudi tribe in Cameroon. They are part of the Fang Beti group. The dance is called Mbali. Also in various Fang Beti languages "a'samba" means to party.
Very, very good information and knowledge about our history people should know about The history about Brazil, their blood is more closer to our African heritage than anybody in the world cause this was where the first slaves came to Ace. Great work thank you.
The Malê Uprising was a slave revolt in Salvador, Bahia, organized by Muslims-known as Malês-during the last ten days of Ramadan in January of 1835. Captured rebels wore Muslim dress, including head coverings and long white tunics, and carried prayer beans as well as Qur'anic amulets on their bodies for protection.
Thank You so much for Your videos brother am watching U from the states I pray Your channel gets bigger and bigger and a big shots out to The sister Ur tour guide

REPRESENT BRO, BE PROUD OF THE HAITIAN BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH YOUR VEINS.. MENTIONING HAITI IN THOSE AREAS WON'T HURT YOU..... SMFH.......
The fact that you even know I'm Haitian tells me everything I need to know. every country I visit I show love including in Brazil a couple of weeks ago I made a video about Haitians in Brazil. I did the same thing in Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and now you over here trying to play me like I'm supposed to say something about Haiti when the video is about Brazil. did you not hear me tell the girls in this video that I'm Haitian?
Something about our American culture is robbing us from displaying and exuding the level of beauty that Kali naturally radiates. I so appreciate this collaboration of Ace x Kali. This video is super educational and inspiring. God bless both of you.
The whiteman changed almost everything so black peoples would be confused. Even North is South and East is West! You can see this in the ancient old navigation maps.
I did the Ancestry DNA and it is accurate. I am Jamaican l found out that 75% is African and 25% European.......14% Portuguese and l have found my Portuguese relatives. I did it in Florida with a kit l got. Do it and you will find out the origin of your ancestors.
Stopped video @29:13 once you began talking with food in your mouth and chewing with your mouth open! You obviously wasn’t taught good table manners! Smacking while eating on a RU-vid video is crazy in 2024! smh Now I will unsubscribe 😒
I dont understand why people need to tell me they unsubscribing, Just Do It like Nike. I'm not going to chase you you acting like a child wants me too and I'm not about to do that. you watch a video up to 30 minutes and get mad because of the way eat, fast forward or take off like Migos
My brother , all those beautiful women at the end of your Black Side of Brazil were stunning. I know that fact is in no way important to what you're about in this video, but it dosn't or goes along way for the brother's that are land locked. Love ya and appreciate you.
That was an amazing experience and tour! I thoroughly enjoyed this video Ace!! The African built infrastructure is amazing to say the very least. So much history there ❤ The ending was amazing 👏 but so very crowded, still so amazing! I've got to try those empanadas and drinks 🍸 😋 there 😁 Thanks for sharing Ace!!!
I could listen to this Beauty give history on her country all day and evening lol..Good job Ace..love your channel..since a boy I was fascinated with Brazil..as an adult I've learned much more an the history with makes it even more fascinating..shout out the the people keeping it alive and beautiful..I will in the future make my way there and very possibly settle in
Not knowing who 2pac in 2024 is crazy!!!!.. I was in Africa in the small country in Malawi and there was people playing 2pac... I was in the Philippines and someone called me "2pac" I guess because of my bald head
Hi Ace excellent video, I have one question though, How did they get the crab in that little bottle? That's a big crab it takes up the whole inside of that bottle, How did they get it in there without breaking the bottle, Or did they make the bottle around the crab?🤔😂😎

They want teach the people their real history. I do no this that South America, Central America, North America had as many blacks living here than Africa or just about. So they didn't need a lot of African. Sooo somebody lying about history. 🤔
yeah my editing varies depending on the topic but definitely I do enjoy making content like this it just doesn't make sense that I do that for every video it all depends on the content that I'm filming and yeah I most definitely have videos like this in almost every country I visited you should watch my Antarctica series that's some of my best work it was filmed two years ago and trust me it's going to take you along for the ride make sure you watch the videos in order I think it's around 6 episodes
@@ACEDTVL I'm not talking about the country you're visiting now. I'm talking about video editing. The content of the video is still very good. I watched most of the videos, including the one about Antarctica. I'm talking specifically about video editing. Thanks for the travel tips!
SO how did they bring over 5 million plus Africans on those little boats? I thought these trips to 1 to 2 months per trip some ships had 30 people some had 500? so how long would it take to bring over 5 million people? They lied about history the math dont add up
There is nothing black about are beautiful brown hues, identifying oneself as the colonizer did isn’t empowering especially when you know the context in which “black” is referenced
I don't even think she has African roots... Not all Awawaks and Tainos were colonial extinct... Something tell me that She has Taino/Awawak genetics... ACE, very great and exceptional video on Brazil... Blessings!
