I agree 100%. Dembe knows Red best, and with the concept of determining who is or isn't a villain serving as a key component of the next season the loyalty as well as devotion exhibited by these two characters makes the above question easy to answer.

The character of Elizabeth keeps flip flopping back and forth between love and hate of "Red", even as she spirals out of moral control, yet Denbe, the bastion of loyalty and morality, the pargon of virtue be remains true to "Red" (Whoever he may be) tells us who is right and who is wrong. I fear that for season six, the "Bad Guy" will be Elizabeth.

They never disappoint, and James and Hisham deserve all of the credit for what they bring to the characters. They work together beautifully, and I wouldn't object to seeing them collaborate on projects apart from "The Blacklist" which I hope we'll enjoy for at least a couple more seasons.

Dembe is my second favorite character, with Red being first on my list. From the beginning, I've always found their relationship to be the most compelling, and I look forward to exploring that further as the show continues.

Red and Dembe's relationship is quite profound and in actuality my favorite aspect of "The Blacklist" as well. What James and Hisham are accomplishing together, in my opinion, very much rivals what James and Bill Shatner achieved on "Boston Legal" as well as Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard's chemistry on "House, M.D.".

When is the next season coming out? I can't wait

We haven't had Netflix for long, and just stumbled across The Black List over the past few weeks, and started watching back to back episodes 4 or 5 a day. We found it totally addictive. We finished season 5 last night, and today, feel very bereft. Thank goodness season 6, is fast approaching for 3rd and 4th January. I've never known such feeling for a tv programme. James Spader deserves an award, not only for his long standing contribution to the film industry, but for Reddington. As for the plot...its Jennifer, that doesn't ring true, for me. Daughter, or not, he is very protective of Lizzie, yet shows no emotion for Jennifer. Am I missing something...?

@@luqmanhafidh8914 Yes Jennifer seems to be the estranged daughter of Raymond when he was married to his wife Naomi Hyland Elizabeth is the daughter of Katarina Rostova a Russian spy presumed dead...... But in this show with so many twists unless we see her body it is anyones guess if she really is dead I am sure in the upcoming series Jennifer will play a bigger role as she is teaming up with Elizabeth to get to the truth about Raymond stay tuned new series just weeks away!

I've always found Red and Dembe's relationship the most compelling such that there's a reciprocity to their journey that others simply don't compare to or compete with. Specifically, Dembe serves and represents Red's compass from a moral standpoint and more. Losing one would destroy the other. Red acts based upon what he finds the circumstances playing out at that specific moment call for. He never acts rashly or without thinking. I find he's very considerate, calculating, in his decision-making, and violence isn't something he enjoys. He's become a harder person as a result of circumstances decades prior that weren't of his volition - by that, I refer to the wife and daughter he loved and lost. I hope that part of his story is addressed rather than discarded like so many other elements. Given what he experienced as a child, Dembe always looks for a peaceful, less violent resolution for matters which, as we've seen, isn't always a feasible option.

I don't think so, not in the slightest. Moriarty was psychotic and never had me experience emotional turmoil that I experience watching Reddington execute his own plans while caring for so many people.

Yes, Red loves Elizabeth very much. But I don't see him as a bad guy - he's far removed from the bane of anyone's existence. Instead, he's a flawed person and hardened by circumstances that weren't of his volition. That Dembe stands by him tells me all I need to know.

Even so, the continued love and support reciprocated between them over time suggests that there's far more good and true morality as it pertains to Red.
