Wow great vlog. This was always the highlight of our holiday. Can't count the number of times I have climbed them stairs. It has changed alot since I was last there. I remember years and years ago at the top of the tower there was a wee gift shop and a red telephone box, which we had to phone home from. I also remember a dinasaur ride which took you up to the next floor. I just love the ballroom. Thanks for filming Paul. You have brought back great memories.
They have a post box up there, which I filmed but didn't include in the vlog. I only went up once when it was owned by the tower group/ first leisure, so only experienced the dinosaur ride once! Many people say it was their favourite thing to do!
I advise anyone to give the tower a visit, it's amazing. Even even you aren't great with heights if you can push yourself then have a try, I suffer with Vertigo but pushed myself a few years ago to do the top including the two higher outdoor areas and man was it worth it. The worst bit in my opinion was going up in the lift, which doesn't last that long, once actually up it wasn't as bad as I thought and the views are incredible. we managed to do jungle jim's before it shut, do the ballroom regularly and the afternoon tea is a real treat too. The circus we do pretty much every year. Even better if like us you are a MAP holder as you can do it as many times as you like and the afternoon tea is at a reduced cost, also the circus have VIP seats at a small booking cost which includes ringside seats and a drink etc included.
Yeah a lot of people say that about the lift! I love the lift though. It's great if you are an annual pass holder as you can go up the tower so many times at different times of the year, at different times during different types of weather and get completely different experiences. The circus upgrade is always a good shout!
Excellent. I've visited the Tower many, many times over the years but not recently. This has really whetted my appetite. It also brought back memories of my parents taking me as a child in the 60's and 70's and abandoning me with my brother while they danced!
Paul, you brought back so many memories. A group of us wrinklies came to Blackpool 3 years ago and some of us ended up in the Ballroom. Really enjoyed sitting there having a pint (or 2) and loved the organ playing. I live 2 miles from where a lot of the bricks used came from and Ruabon Red Bricks are famous having been used on numerus buildings throughout the UK and further afield. Dont stop doing what you're doing as you bring so much happiness to your followers. Best Wishes Dave. P.S. the same group of wrinklies will be in Blackpool from15th - 20th May staying in Tiffanys hotel cant wait!!!
Hahaha I love the word Wrinklies 😂😂 you can get lost in the ballroom... Not literally but lost in time! There's a variety going on and having a pint or 2 is what many people do! Very unique kind of bar and seating area, should you put it that way!
Really enjoyed this vlog, love the tower, been to the circus and ballroom many times, and after the circus we always went to the entertainment room for the children when my 2 were younger, loved the zoo also when I was a kid. A lot of nostalgia, and also a collection of photos with mooky
Superb vlog PT ❤ i went up the tower for the first time last August and took my father to the ballroom and circus back in November. The ballroom is absolutely stunning, brought me joy seeing the wherlitzer. The circus holds some amazing history with a small exhibition of the famous charlie coroli, me dad also told me he remembers when the elephants had to climb the narrow corridors to reach stage level from the stables below the tower. Thouraghly live the glass floor and the 4d cinema in the tower, great features but the best are the views. Thanks again PT, stunning vlog 👏👏👏
The circus holds much more than you and the public know... The basement area still has the stables win which the animals lived in and the smell down there, is of what you would expect of a zoo or animal enclosure! The exhibition before the circus hasn't been there long, and I spent many of my days in that area when I worked there!
@@PTVlogsUK me and dad have been visiting the circus for many years, my favourite features being the wonky flooring and sloping paths, on stage the water at rhe end, though this season and previous performance has somewhat lost it's humor with the great mooky. I have heard about the existence of the stables (its on the wall as you walk through to the ringside) . Would be amazing if merlin would let you down n film the stables for 'education and historical ' purposes for us to see. Thanks again x
See why can't you be the face of Blackpool youtube? So very well produced and not centred upon yourself unlike other vloggers are. I do hope to see more like this from you pt
Nice to see it moving with the times. At one point it was looking very dated getting rid of jungle Jim's was a wise move. Thanks for the tour have a good weekend. Also sorry for arguing with those people on here earlier in the week it won't happen again.
This is where I found out I had a fear of heights. Mam took me and Sis for a day trip and my legs went at the top of the tower, looking down. I went a few years ago with my good lady and was half relieved when we got there and they'd closed the upper levels temporarily.
Amazing video. I visited all the attraction in Blackpool tower as a small child with my parents about 50 years ago. Including going to the top of the tower. The ballroom is quite spectacular in my opinion. Thanks for posting this great video, much appreciated.
Hi Paul thank you for another great video as always I've been to the tower Eye twice its totally amazing even better at night especially when the illuminations are on incredible the shop has so much choice ive been in the ballroom for afternoon tea beautiful place nice to see the dancers too have a great weekend 🙂
Love the vlog Paul. I’ve been coming to Blackpool for 30 years and the tower is a must to visit. I have fond memories as a little girl in that tower from going to the top to the old aquarium they used to have. It’s changed so much over the years and I still love going. Circus was the first thing in the tower I ever went to back in 1992
Always wanted to go up the tower as a little kid, but the 2/6d fee (A half a crown) was too steep a price for our family - over 60 years ago. I felt the effect of vertigo watching the video, so thanks for posting because it is the closest I will ever get. A childhood dream.
Wow! I can’t think of a better way to spend Saturday morning watching all about the famous Blackpool tower. I was last there with my family in 1998 but I returned two years later with my girlfriend to do it again along with the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool must be proud of it’s landmark tower and indeed the beautiful majestic ballroom. A great vlog Paul you must have had great fun filming this one👍
It's been over twenty years since I visited the tower complex and remember seeing Eric Delaney the drumming man and his band in the ballroom, incredible energy this guy had and his cover of the space 2001 oddity was something to see, I'll be visiting on 16/9/2023 and looking forward to seeing the new updated building.
Hi there fantastic channel very interesting brilliant video and fantastic material just to say I cannot wait to be back in Blackpool in October love the place and cannot wait to be filming back up there brilliant work and I’ve just subscribed your channel because I’ve just come across it good work
Thank you for sharing I'm new to your channel loving the content bud 🤩 any good place in Blackpool you can recommend I'm visiting in the summer hopefully 🤠
Thank you. I have a few videos on my channel of Blackpool Attractions. I hope to do more this year! To recommend are the pier, pleasure beach, tower, Stanley park, tram tour/heritage tram and just the general atmosphere too
Thanks Paul great vlog once again I haven’t been up the tower for years I have been out and about filming for my new channel Life on the ocean wave take a look looking forward to the next one ..Charles.
@@PTVlogsUK I wouldn’t. I’m careful how far I go up as it is tend to stick to the floor they drop you off at with that glass floor because I can’t trust my epilepsy. If I were to go up to the outdoor sections and god forbid have a seizure up there I’d likely fall off the tower down to the ground below and I don’t want to die. I’ll wait til it’s controlled fully.
Remember when it was only one price but, now sadly got to pay for varies bit tower, circus and I think ballroom all separate price but cheaper (along with merlot events ie Madame Tussauds, Sealife etc ) on Line
Like everywhere now it's charges charges charges gone are days of a cheap holiday by sea in UK families just can's afford days out & visiting attractions while on holiday, when all so expensive.
Seeing Blackpool from that height must be so cool. I need to get myself to the top as I've never been to the top in my life. And I call myself a fan of Blackpool without going up the Tower 🤣🤣. Got to admit it does look really nice lit up at night. Great video Paul!
Its looks great at night at the top too! Seeing the coast at night with the lights of the town is something you never see on pictures or videos! One to try should you go up!
Thank you so much for this fantastic vlog, it was a long time coming, but it was so worth the wait, brilliant job Paul. We are visiting the ballroom 4 times over 2022 and cant wait, so thank you again Paul for getting us excited 💜😀
Seeing that Ballroom makes me so emotional. I remember dancing with my Grandma when I was little. It’s such a beautiful room too. You’ll never get me back to the top of the tower though. My mum dragged me up as a kid and made me stand on the glass floor and my crippling fear of heights was born lol 😂
I went to Blackpool on a day visit in 1980, went on the revolution ,was a new ride at the time, peer pressure, afterwards went to the top of the tower, I'm still traumatised.
Brilliant video the last time we went to Blackpool we went up the tower the 4d broke when we where in it but we could have gone in again but with the time we had we couldn't go back in but we are going back in July so we will visit it again and the circus.
Brilliant video PT. I am open to correction but I do believe the crows nest was accessible in the mid 1970s and I think I have been up there. I am sure I have some old colour slides. I will check them out. The ballroom is like a cathedral and I highly recommend a visit for anyone coming to Blackpool. Thanks again.
great vlog I've been to the ride zone plus in Castleford it was the weirdest day i ever have they just been played the hokey hokey and Heads shoulders knees and toes on the waltzer today can you tell me where about is that Hindley's funfair
I love the history behind tower i do feel thwy need to updaye 4d exlereince its same video and same song since it opened i love to visit blackpool each year but just feel they should chamge 4 d video now and again
I was hopeful this would get changed...BUT I would fear it wouldn't match up to the current one... It's so good... Having said that, they just need to update it as it's showing images from pre 2012!
I was a teenager the last time I went up to Blackpool tower , I had my palm read on the golden mile, I said, I forsee that I will be £5 worse off when I come out, I was absolutely right .
Hi Paul hope your well?. A year on from commenting on this video and the time has nearly arrived for me to go to the top of the Tower. I will be going up this week. Decided to watch your vlog again to get my ready as I'm quite anxious thinking about it but once at the top ill be fine. Hopefully it's nice weather to.
