Taking a chance on 4 unknown actors for your very first movie is quite the gamble... but did that gamble pay off enough in 19992 to make the movie Juice a film that still entertaining in 2022? BlackTrack with me to find out.
"Higher Learning" (1995) Drama/Romance movie Review. In the late-great film Director John Singleton's powerful portrait of college life in the 1990s, a group of incoming freshmen at Columbus University -- including varsity athlete Malik Williams (Omar Epps), awkward outcast Remy (Michael Rapaport) and wide-eyed Kristen Connor (Kristy Swanson) -- struggle to find themselves and adjust to newfound independence. When Remy finds acceptance among a group of neo-Nazis, tensions rise even higher on a campus already divided along racial, socio-economic and gender lines. Justin, please on the Black track upload that Movie review next Month?????
New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood, Juice & Menace II Society is the Mount Rushmore of hood classics. Each movie taught us life lessons, launched a lot of careers, people have named themselves after the characters, paved the way for future hood movies & referenced in other movies, songs & tv shows.
Juice will always be a classic to me. It’s something about movies that takes place in early-mid 90s New York that felt like a vibe. Marlon Wayans was originally suppose to be in this movie, and I could speculate he most likely was going to play Steele (Jermaine Hopkins). Having Marlon in the film would have been interesting considering he was friends with both Pac and Omar Epps in real life. Rewatching this movie made me realize the crew of Yo! MTV Raps was in the movie (Fab 5 Freddy and I think Ed Lover). Obviously Queen Latifah was here too as well as Flex Alexander and Treach from NBN. Watching the relationship between Q and Cindy from En Vogue from an adult lens was inappropriate and home girl was a predator, and idk that side plot wasn’t necessary for the film, but I guess they made it work. I would have loved a backstory from Bishop’s father and why he was the way he was. All in all, Juice is a good movie. One of my favorite movies that never gets old to me. I like the soundtrack and Tupac once again stole the show. I would give this movie a B+.
Definitely a CULT CLASSIC. ..1.they should have showed a Little more detail about 2pac father in the movie for the original ending to be more sufficient and the actual ending was okay because it basically showed Q. Wasn't a killer and deep down didn't want bishop to die
