Mike Hammontree steps from behind the piano to do his Johnny Cash impersonation.
This was taken at the Blackwood Brothers concert at Sandy Bottom Christian Church in Madison Heights, VA on August 12, 2012. Group members are tenor Wayne Little, lead Jimmy Blackwood, baritone Billy Blackwood, bass Butch Owens, and pianist Mike Hammontree.

As a young child (and I barely remember) I would listen to some BLACKWOODS playing & singing . . . . . my mother's maiden name was Blackwood, and her parents played many instruments, plus they had 8 children!

You can really tell the Blackwood's. Have followed them and many other groups since the 50's. My mother even went to school with the piano player for the Blackwood's back in the 50's

I'm very happy and proud to say that Mike's a friend of mine from 'way back. This impressive video displays just a small fraction of his enormous talent. There is very little in the music business that's beyond him, and whatever he does, he does it better than everyone else.
