For years, because of a declining population due to over-fishing, the Bluefin Tuna has been considered an endangered species. But in 2024, the species seems better than ever. Not only is the fishery now alive and well in places like the UK (where it previously had all but disappeared), but off of North Carolina, the amount of tuna, large and small, has been unbelievable this winter.
As you'll see in this video, in one day we caught 7 bluefin! And multiple vessels have caught over 10 bluefin in one day this season. Signs are very positive for a healthy stock of bluefin for years to come.
