Come on, this can’t be right. All these functions require hardware to works (software sure can’t heat up your steering wheel for sure) it will only means that when you purchase the car, you have already bought the hardware for these functions, but cannot access them until you bought the software to activate these hardware…double taxing? How can this be a good idea?

Hoping you can eventually add Selective Beam (anti-dazzle) as an OTA option via Connected Drive for the many US cars out there with BMW LaserLight and iDrive 7 or 8. Seems like a no-brainer now that better headlight tech is finally legal in the US.

Brand new BMW - idrive connect “known” issues - but the dealer tells me (on 4th Nov) taking booking for 8th December. That’s over a month away! Really!! That not a $60k spend experience!!!

This can be great for fleets: rental cars and commercial. But not so much for private ownership: you risk tarnish your brand forever doing this for the private owners. This could be a solution for the lower end of the market, not for an established luxury brand.

Hahaha! I love it when companies make satire videos about their own products. Just imagine if this was how it ACTUALLY worked... You purchase an expensive car that's already fully equipped with all kinds of hardware based features, but you can't use them unless you first PAY to activate them on demand. lol.. Cold steering wheel? No problem bro, just buy the Heated Steering Wheel feature. Cold seat? No worries my man, just subscribe to the Heated Seat feature. Can't open the door? Say no more fam, just subscribe to the Open Doors feature and voila! Can't start the engine? You guessed it... just subscribe to the Start Engine feature and you're good to go! This is comedy gold.

This is ridiculous, heating should be the basic feature for a car!

So basically, you are saying that you are selling a car which is actually able to do these things but will not do it until you pay more.. And marketing it as "'easy upgrade!"'. Genius... Evil for sure but genius. Well there will be people who will eat it up. Pay for these instead of giving you what you really deserve. You will win. The future of automotive is a subscription nightmare..

Why are you trying to sell this as a big advantage for the users while EVERBODY knows it's just another way for you to squeeze additional revenue out of the owner's pocket??? LOL FLEXIBILITY! Are you going to make the passenger seats as an optional purchase for maximum flexibility?

Even now in india bmw x5 or x4 does not come with ventilated seats ,its such a basic feature.

Since I discovered that BMW decided to strip my car of any connected package that I had (and I payed for), I decided that they are not to be trusted. Maybe some day they decide not to let me start my car, even if I payed for. I talked to the lazy customer support, their answer is that the services are not available in my region and I cannot activate them. Even if they used to work a week ago and I payed for them. So, better stay away from the cars of this company, I can hardly wait to sell mine and look somewhere else.

Ability to purchase unlimited is superb! That flexibility is superb

Sigh. This makes me question if I want to continue buying BMWs. Perhaps I will stick with my old Beamer. The one with physical buttons and features I paid for and own. Thanks Tesla you have ruined everything. I resent this “new world”.
