I think Jay & Christine are reminding Dan of Gary & Trish, and he just wants mom & dad to get along, so he can finally be part of a happy family. Dan... it's not your fault.
So funny to watch Dan and Christine bicker, then Dan speaks up about it and calls them on it, and then they both start bickering with him about how they weren't bickering.
Couple that makes their problems everyone else's bc they don't wanna solve them and want an intermediary then acting like it's not a big deal when the intermediary calls them both out.
Miss Dan. Been trying to stick with the show, but I can’t do it anymore. Jay belittling Jacob last week was the last straw. Fuck Jay and Christine for annoying Dan to the point of leaving
Like a real homie Soder tried to diffuse and change the subject. He agreed with both saw both sides and stood up for the dog too. Good dude. As a host of a radio show it was so nice to hear Dan call them on that stupid bullshit. Soder rules
@@we_be_nerds3601it was pretty obvious it was coming. If you go listen to when he decided to leave, the episodes when jay and Christine were arguing all the time is about the time he decided to leave.
I wish they put actual posted dates on comments instead of that "1 year ago" shit. I recently saw a video description that said 1 year ago that was like a week shy of 2 years.
Spoony jam jam time, lol. The funniest thing here is Jay acting like he doesn't cuddle with his girlfriend. And the fact that she points it out is great.
Jay has only child, mamma's boy energy. His ex cut his steak in front of Christine "the way he likes it." He loves getting attention and is petty and passive aggressive when he loses games or doesn't get attention. He argues and fights like a chick, it must be exhausting to be around.
i missed this ep when it aired but oh god the reddit was on point. good on dan for calling jay/them out on their shit. i love jay but he is clearly depressed/unhappy
@@Hornnnnnn yep. came out just after I posted that. I was suggesting having all of the Rocky stuff in one video to make the original rocky video longer.
Soder is on point on this one and he does understand dogs. Crate training is absolutely crucial for a puppy to help with multiple things including potty training. Dr. Soder for the win!
24:32 man, did Black Lou's laugh really take me out of a funk today. It's the first time I've belly laughed in a long time. Listened since the first episode and I love this show more than anything. I really hope it doesn't stop, especially for a broke ass Carpenter like me.
Dan has been through some emotional turmoil in his life. You can see he's a genuine dude and cares about the people he loves. You can see it hurts him to see people he loves fight.
I forever thought it was just open busting balls. Like, for fun and for the good of the show. Sort of manufactured kayfabe, but perhaps coming from a real place. Dan shows that this kind of talk happens off-air and snowballs to the point where it's unbearable.
Jim & Sam where recently bemoaning Sirius XM’s feet dragging with adapting to RU-vid if hey were…serious they’d hire CLC to do these sorta videos it does does so much promote the shows and they’re fun to show friends,
I have no idea how Christine is with Jay. "I made it in New York for years without Jay," Dude, you were a waitress at a comedy club, now you don't pay rent and live in a highrise with security at the door instead of a buzzer. Maybe relax lol.
They got so fucking phony the second Dan called them out. I hope they listened to this again and reflected on how wrong they were, but we all know they didn't.
@@manicmondaypodcast8008 I could understand "dimly lit", but that's just asking for it. And by "it", I mean slipping on the soap and busting your head on porcelain.
I love showering in the dark in the mornings. It's like getting out of bed but also staying in bed. Co-sign the meditative comment. I don't need a bright ass light shining in my eyes minutes after waking up.
I remember when this ep dropped and so many bonfire fans showed how fckin soft they are by hearing the 2 minute argument and saying stuff like "the show shouldn't have came back, its not the same blah blah blah."
The problem is Dan let it go, he should have said “no no no, this happens all the time, we are going to stop here and unpack this” which I know he didn’t have the energy for but he let the moment pass. It’s hard but you got to speak from the gut and don’t stop until all of the thoughts are out of your head, I’m sure he had some harsh things he wanted to unleash on jay and Christine, but he’s corporate Dan to the bone.
@@arbyscurlyfries9490 it’s not about fight, it’s about saying the thing, he’s holding back, and he shouldn’t, it’s not like jay and Christine preserve the right to say “hey it’s our relationship stay out of it” when they do their couple bullshit on the show and against his will make Dan a moderator of it, I think in particular Dan wants to tell jay to grow up, man up, and make a decision, we all know what that decision is. It sad cause aside from this bullshit jay is probably one of the funniest people who has ever lived, but his way with women is very childish.
It honestly seems like Jay has been trying to kill the show. But what annoys me as bad as the fight, is the way Jay and Christine just switch tones as soon as someone calls them out.
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Jay's narrative is that this is finding the funny in a situation, and to his credit, that has brought us many great clips and bits from airing grievances on air. That being said, sometimes it goes a step too far and it doesn't sound like it's all shits and giggles, and even though we as an audience don't know them personally or the full context of a situation, it can become awkward. I'm sure this was just a moment in time and the crew will shift energy and take the show a into new funny directions.
His voice gives me the ick, it's so wet and whiny and weak. He could be jacked and look tough and smell manly and be a billionaire, but his awful natural voice would still bely all that.
When I first discovered and got into the Bonfire, I spent months thinking one or both of them must be gay. Years later, I'm still shocked that neither have come out as at least bi...
I've never understood why people have dogs and then keep them in a crate 60% of the time. When Dan said they like going in there for hours at time i cringed. They definitely don't like that.
At 13:40 jay pretty much admits he wants time with Christine but she didn't pick it up cause if the dog, which unraveled to the next segment which I love 😁 Christine didn't think there's anything wrong with the dog(as usual) and Jay (like most of us) wants his own thing and occasionally fuck our girl 😎👍
27:08 tbh I have a crush on Dan but there's no way I could date him if he sounds like that when he sleeps. And the fact that he was raised an only child. Katie can keep him, bless her, she's a real sailor.
I wonder if Jay doesn't bond with dogs because he's Jewish. Time to bust out the lab coat. I imagine new yorkers in their tiny apartments step on dogs all the time.
Big Jay is hilarious and pretty cool but goddamn is he soft. The smallest issue in his life and he starts whining and bitching. Hes also incredibly lazy. All he does for work is talk and he still wont do any kind of physical work, even in his private life, for himself and his girlfriend.
@grodo3487 He has an irrational disbelief in random areas too. Like the Planet Earth series, he just doesn't believe that it's real. He thinks that he's using logic to debunk, but he's just so woefully I'll suited to even begin debunking a production in that field. It's surprising to me that he's so ignorant in certain areas.
